Today's swap card was made by Lorrie Skinner from Michigan. It has so many elements and textures that I'm loving bit and bob of it! Sometimes we can add too much to a card and make it "one baby's breath over the line" but this card achieves the perfect balance of elements, texture, and interest. Let's take a look at it, shall we?
Lorrie started by stamping the splatters from the "Awesomely Artistic" stamp set--some in full strength and some stamped off--in Basic Black Archival Ink onto a 3-3/4" by 5" Whisper White panel. Next, she embossed the panel with the Large Polka Dot Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. She adhered this to a 3-7/8" by 5-1/8" Basic Black mat, and then onto a Thick Whisper White Card Stock card base.
Lorrie then cut a Melon Mambo flower from the Rose Garden Framelits. The Garden Green leaves and smaller Melon Mambo flower are cut using the Flourishes Framelits. Lorrie made the Basic Black circle but cutting one circle with the Stitched Shapes Framelits and then cutting the center out with the Layering Circles Framelits.
Lorrie stamped a 1" Whisper White strip in Basic Black Archival Ink with the sentiment from the "Rose Wonder" stamp set and then flagged the end with the Banner Triple Punch. She stamped the smaller flower from the "Rose Wonder" set in Basic Black Archival Ink onto a Whisper White scrap and used her Blender Pen to color it with Melon Mambo Ink. She used her Paper Snips to cut out this flower.
To bring all the elements together, Lorrie added a length of Playful Palette Washi Tape onto the Whisper White panel, then half a Silver Metalic Foil Doily. Then she used Stampin' Dimensionals to add the sentiment strip. She tied a bow of Melon Mambo Thick Baker's Twine onto the circle element and adhered that to the card. After Lorrie arranged the rest of the elements on the card, she added some Brights and Metallic Sequins and a Basic Rhinestone as finishing touches.
This is such a fantastic card!! I love the textures and colors!! Perfection!!
