Making a Difference

#stampinup   #faithfulinkspirations   Stampin' Up is a company that gives back to the community. You might have seen the CEO Sara Douglass on the Today Show during the holidays giving away stamp sets, ink, and paper as part of the show's holiday toy drive. In the past, Stampin' Up supported the Ronald McDonald House by donating a portion of the sales of a certain stamp set to the charity. For the 2019-2020 stampin' season, Stampin' Up is donating to mental health organizations throughout the world--$3 from each purchase of the totally adorable "Nature's Beauty" set will go toward this cause. You can see the set on the inside back page of the Holiday Catalog and in one of the images on today's card.
I received this card from Jennifer Helm at the Proverbial Stampers & Friends gathering. I love the way Jennifer used a variety of circles and tree images and textures for her card. First, she stamped the deer from "Nature's Beauty" in Early Espresso Ink onto Whisper White Card Stock and cut it out with a Stitched Shape Die. She added some stamped "texture" in Crushed Curry Ink with the falling snow image from this set.

Next, Jennifer stamped the Birch Background stamp in Crumb Cake Ink onto a 4" by 5-1/4" Crumb Cake Card Stock mat. She adhered this to a Cajun Craze Card Stock card base. She embossed another piece of Cajun Craze Card Stock with the Woodland Embossing Folder and cut it out with one of the Layering Circles Dies. She adhered this directly to the card. She used the Subtle Embossing Folder to give some texture to Blackberry Bliss Card Stock and used a Layering Circles Die to cut it out. She adhered that directly to the card, too. She used Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the Whisper White circle with the deer image to the card.

Finally, Jennifer used the Seasonal Layers Dies to cut leaves from Crushed Curry, Rich Razzleberry, and Cajun Craze Card Stock. She adhered the solid leaves to the card with a Stampin' Dimensional and used the Fine-Tip Glue Pen to adhere the open leaf to the card.

Jennifer stamped the sentiment from the "Itty Bitty Greetings" set in Mossy Meadow Ink onto Whisper White Card Stock and punched it out with the Classic Label Punch. She used Mini Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the label to the card.

I think this design really showcases the artwork on the image from the "Nature's Beauty" set. I'm so pleased to have received Jennifer's card in the swap!

Today's card is one that we made at the Proverbial Stampers & Friends new catalog gathering. I was so glad to get to use products from the Come to Gather Suite in the Holiday catalog. This card uses the "Harvest Hellos" and "Gather Together" stamp sets.

We stamped the pumpkin image from the "Harvest Hellos" stamp set in Pretty Peacock Ink onto Whisper White Card Stock and punched it out with the Apple Builder Punch. Here's your Tuesday PROTIP: We used a Blender Pen to pull some of the ink from the stamped image to fill in the pumpkin. If you can't get enough coverage, you can pick up some ink from the stamp you used to stamp the image--there's always ink left behind! We stamped the leaf in Old Olive Ink, punched it with the Apple Builder Punch, and used a Blender Pen to fill in the color. We did the same technique with the stem, which is stamped in Early Espresso Ink.

Next, we embossed the top of 4" by 5-1/4" Early Espresso panel with the Pinewood Planks 3D Embossing Folder. PROTIP: To emboss part of a piece of card stock, roll the folder and card stock partway into the die cut machine and then roll it back out. We adhered a 3-7/8" by 2-1/4" piece of the beautiful Come to Gather Designer Series Paper to the bottom of this panel. Then we wrapped a length of Crumb Cake Come to Gather Ribbon around the seam. Let me tell you this ribbon is smooth as silk. It's gorgeous in real life!!! We then adhered everything to a Pretty Peacock Card Stock Card base.

We stamped a sentiment from the "Come to Gather" set in Pretty Peacock Ink onto Whisper White Card Stock and cut it out with one of the Ornate Frame Dies in the Monster Bash Suite--DO NOT miss those! We adhered the pumpkin and the sentiment piece to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals and added two Noble Peacock Rhinestones to the label to finish the card. Gorgeous!!

Turkey Time

#stampinup   #faithfulinkspirations   #manicMonday   Well, fall has finally arrived here in central Maryland. I was dispairing that it would ever get here. It's been so hot and humid--like summer didn't want to let go. I really love the fall, so I've been waiting impatiently for it to get here--and it's here!! To celebrate the arrival of fall, I'm going to share fall and harvest cards with you this week--all of the stamp sets are from the Holiday Catalog, so if you see something that strikes your fancy, just click on the images at the end of this blog post and you'll go straight to my online store where you can make your purchases.

First up is this cute Thanksgiving card I got at a card swap--somehow I've lost the name of the designer. If it's yours, let me know and I'll update my post to give you full credit.

Isn't this cute? The turkey is from the adorable "Birds of a Feather" stamp set. He's stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink onto Whisper White Card Stock. The image was colored with Granny Apple Green, Crumb Cake, Cajun Craze, Pumpkin Pie, and Daffodil Delight Stampin' Blends and Early Espresso Stampin' Write Marker. The designer also added some Clear Wink of Stella to the pie and tail feathers. She cut out the image with a square Stitched Shape Die.

The Early Espresso Card Stock panel is embossed with the Hammered Metal 3D Embossing Folder and adhered to a Crumb Cake Card Stock card base. A Cajun Craze Card Stock scalloped square was cut with one of the Layering Squares Dies and adhered to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals--and the turkey image was adhered on top of that

The sentiment is from the "Day of Thanks" stamp set and is stamped in Early Espresso Ink onto Cajun Craze Card Stock. Stampin' Dimensionals were used to adhere this to a Crumb Cake strip that's adhered directly to the card. So cute!!
