Basket of Berries

#stampinup   #faithfulinkspirations   One of the funnest (is that a word?) suites in the Occasions catalog is the Tutti-Frutti Suite. I love everything about it--particularly the bold, bright colors! Today's project is one that I CASEd almost in its entirety from one of the displays at the OnStage Live event. It was too cute to pass up!

I started by making a crate out of a piece of Wood Textures Designer Series Paper using the Wood Crate Framelits. I loved that DSP and the framelits as soon as I saw them and I'm always looking for fun ways to use them.

Next, I made a tag to tie onto a cello bag full of red candies. I stamped six strawberries from the "Fruit Basket" stamp set onto a scrap strip of Whisper White Card Stock. The fruit is Real Red Ink and the stems are Emerald Envy Ink. I punched these out with the matching strawberry punch from the Itty Bitty Fruit Punch Pack. Ah-dorbs!!

Then I stamped the fruit bowl outline in Early Espresso Ink onto a Whisper White scrap and filled it in with the "filler" stamp in Crumb Cake Ink. I fussy cut the fruit bowl with my Paper Snips.

I cut a Whisper White Circle with one of the circle Stitched Shapes Framelits and cut a Lemon Lime Twist scallop circle with one of the Layering Circles Framelits. I stamped the sentiment from the "Fruit Basket" stamp set in Real Red onto the stitched circle.

I used three Stampin' Dimensionals, placed near the bottom, to adhere the bowl to the Whisper White circle. I used Glue Dots to adhere three of the strawberries directly to the circle and then used Mini Dimensionals to adhere the remaining three strawberries. I tucked each of the strawberries into the bowl as I went.

I then punched a 2" strip of the Tutti-Frutti Designer Series Paper with the Scallop Tag Topper Punch at the top and with the Banner Triple Punch at the bottom. I used Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the circle piece to the tag. I tied the tag onto the bag of candy with a length of Lemon Lime Twist Mini Striped Ribbon. Isn't this just the cutest thing??!!

Come back tomorrow for a super-duper cute card using this same set and DSP!!!

One For The Guys

#stampinup   #faithfulinkspirations   I'm in the midst of designing birthday cards for my upcoming stamp-a-stack. I promised I would do one card specifically for the men. What better suite to use than the True Gentleman Suite?! I love the colors and whimsical patterns in the True Gentleman Designer Series Paper and I love the hexagonal sentiments in the "Truly Tailored" stamp set. Today's card is a prototype--it's not the exact card we'll be making during the stamp-a-stack. I've got some additional supplies on order for that!!
This card is super easy to make because the DSP does most of the work for you! I started with a 3-7/8" by 5-1/8" Crumb Cake Card Stock mat. I adhered a 3-3/4" by 2" piece of the True Gentlemen DSP to the top of the mat and a 3-3/4" by 3" piece of the same DSP to the bottom. I also adhered 3-3/4" by 1/2" strip of the same DSP where the two large DSP pieces meet. Then I adhered everything to a Very Vanilla Card Stock card base.

Next, I stamped one of the sentiments from the "Truly Tailored" stamp set in Chocolate Chip ink onto a Very Vanilla scrap. I punched this out with the Tailored Tag punch--just to eliminate extra card stock before I trimmed this piece with my Paper Snips. I punched a Chocolate Chip Card Stock scrap with the Tailored Tag Punch and adhered the Very Vanilla piece on top. I added four Stampin' Dimensionals to the back of this piece, wound a length of Linen Thread around my fingers, and stuck the thread to the back side of the tag before adhering everything to the card.
This card looks sharp!! It's perfect for the man in your life!

Happy Birthday Wishes

#stampinup   #faithfulinkspirations   #FF001   I found a new challenge to play in--not only is the challenge new to me, but it's just plain NEW! It's called the Festive Friday challenge and I think it's going to be fun to play along. I can't believe I'm getting in on the ground the very last minute. So I have to type fast!!

The challenge for this fortnight is either Valentine's Day or sequins or both! Since Valentine's Day is over and I'm onto other things, I'm just doing sequins. I'm using the Sale-a-Bration "Happy Wishes" stamp set that I haven't used very often.

I started by stamping the floral "happy" from this set in Berry Burst Ink onto the top of a 3-3/4" by 5" Whisper White panel. I added "birthday" just below, also in Berry Burst. I adhered a 3-3/4" by 2" piece of Picture Perfect Party Designer Series Paper to the bottom of this panel. I wrapped a length of Berry Burst Metallic-Edge Ribbon around the panel before adhering it to a 3-7/8" by 5-1/8" Bermuda Bay Card Stock mat. Then I adhered everything to a Berry Burst Card Stock card base.

For a little bit of fun--and to play along in the challenge--I added some Tutti-Frutti Adhesive Backed Sequins to finish the card.

This card is super quick and easy. You could make a stack of these in no time!!

Amazing Lavender

#stampinup   #faithfulinkspirations   Today's card is a little bit rustic and a little bit shabby chic.  It uses the same focal point as yesterday's card, but with a different impact.
As I did yesterday, I stamped the line art (outline) of the lavender spray from the "Lots of Lavender" stamp set in Basic Gray Archival Ink onto a 2-1/4" by 4" piece of Whisper White Card Stock. I filled in the lavender with Fresh Fig Ink, stamped off once. The leaves and stems are filled in with Pear Pizzazz Ink and the bow is Powder Pink. I adhered this to a 2-3/8" by 4-1/8" Fresh Fig Card Stock mat.

I stamped the "amazing you" sentiments from the "Amazing You" stamp set in Fresh Fig Ink onto a 3-1/2" by 1-1/4" piece of Vellum Card Stock and set it aside to dry while I worked on the rest of the card.

I adhered one end of a length of Linen Thread to the back side of a 4-1/4" by 5-1/2" piece of Wood Textures Designer Series Paper and let it hang off before adhering it to a Thick Whisper White Card Stock card base. Then I used the Leaf Punch to punch a sprig of leaves from Old Olive, Pear Pizzazz, and Vellum Card Stock. I adhered these to the back of the lavender element and then added a 1/4 Delicate White Doily.

I used the 1/8" Handheld Circle Punch to punch a hole in one side of the stamped Vellum piece. I scored the other end at the 1/2" mark and wrapped it around the lavender element. I adhered the lavender element to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals.

To finish, I threaded the Linen Thread through the hole and tied it into a pretty bow. I'm really pleased with how this turned out--especially the wrap-around vellum piece.
Remember: you can earn each of these sets--"Lots of Lavender" and "Amazing You" with a $50 purchase during Sale-a-Bration. Need them both? Just purchase $100 and get them both for FREE!
