3 Cheers to Kits!

Today, I'm sharing an all-inclusive set from the January-to-June 2020 Mini Catalog. I wouldn't normally share two kits in a row, but as I was putting the kit together, I kept thinking, "This a PROTIP I need to share." So for PROTIP Tuesday, I present the Three Cheers For You All Inclusive Kit!

Seriously, this kit has everything you need (except scissors) to make 12 awesome cards. You get the stamp set, an acrylic block, an ink spot, all the embellishments, pretty pre-printed cards and envelopes, and it all comes in a cute box that you can decorate, too. There's also a full-color instruction booklet that helps you when putting the cards together. And my first PROTIP is this: to read the small print in the booklet, take a picture of each page with your phone and then enlarge the picture so you can read the small print!

Each of the cards has a Linen Thread element. The thread comes on a spool, so when you cut it to size, it's still curlicued. PROTIP: I took my adhesive eraser (which we don't sell anymore) and pulled the thread over it. I used to have a piece of bee's wax that I would use to stiffen thread in the same way. (You can search "adhesive eraser" or "beeswax sewing notions" on Amazon and pick up one of these amazing tools. I recommend the adhesive eraser because, well, you might need to erase some adhesive if you're a paper-crafter!)

Here are the finished cards and box. They are totes adorable--perfect for loads of occasions and perfect to give as a gift--either the kit or as a box of cards you've made yourself!

Pretty Posies

#stampinup   #faithfulinkspirations   #saleabration   #ProtipTuesday   We made this ever so cute and ever so clever card at the Proverbial Stampers & Friends new catalog gathering last weekend. This is a card that features products from the Annual Catalog, the January-to-June Mini Catalog, and the Sale-a-Bration Catalog. It's sweet and pretty and it has a "hidden" PROTIP for you!

We started by embossing a 3-3/4" by 5" Whisper White Card Stock panel with the Subtle Embossing Folder. We adhered that to a 4" by 5-1/4" Blushing Bride Card Stock mat and then onto a Thick Whisper White Card Stock base.

We punched a spray of leaves from Pear Pizzazz Card Stock using the Leaf Punch from the Annual Catalog. We punched three flowers from Blushing Bride Card Stock with the Small Bloom Punch that you can earn for FREE with a $100 purchase during Sale-a-Bration. We stamped the sentiment from the "Sending You Thoughts" set--another SAB item, FREE with a $50 purchase--in Soft Suede Ink onto a strip of Whisper White Card Stock.

Here's where the PROTIP comes in! We punched a piece of Whisper White Card Stock with the larger balloon from the Balloon Bouquet Punch, embossed it with the Coastal Weave Embossing Folder from the January-to-June Mini Catalog, and turned it upside-down to form a vase for the flowers. I know! Your PROTIP is that your punches can be used for more than you think! Who would have thought that a balloon could be a vase?

We adhered the leaves spray directly to the card and adhered everything else to the card with regular Stampin' Dimensionals and Mini Stampin' Dimensionals. To finish the card, we added one Pearl Embellishment to the middle of each flower and then used a Mini Glue Dot to adhere a pretty bow made with So Saffron Metallic Baker's Twine from the Metallic Baker's Twine & Sequins Combo Pack that you can earn for FREE with a $50 purchase during Sale-a-Bration! So cute and clever!

Poppy Birthday

#stampinup   #faithfulinkspirations   #ProTipTuesday    Goodness gracious me! The Peaceful Poppies Suite of products on pages 24 through 27 of the January to June Mini Catalog is simply gorgeous! The suite has two stamp sets and two matching sets of dies plus designer series paper, sequins, ribbon, and other elements. We made this stunning card at the OnStage event in November. And now that the mini catalog is live, you can order the products to make this card--and so much more--too!

Do you see the subtle poppy outlines on the card base? That's your PROTIP for today: Use Versamark to stamp a background on solid card stock. Here, we stamped the larger poppy and leaf images from the "Painted Poppies" stamp set in Versamark onto a Poppy Parade Card Stock base.

Then we adhered a 2-1/4" by 3-3/4" piece of striped Old Olive Peaceful Poppies Designer Series Paper directly onto the card. We adhered a 2" by 3-1/2" piece of floral DSP on top of that, at a light angle, for interest. Next, we stamped a sentiment from the "Peaceful Moments" stamp set in Memento Tuxedo Black at the end of a 1-1/2" by 3" piece of Whisper White Card Stock, tearing the end for a little texture. We adhered this to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals.

To finish the card, we adhered a bow of 1/4" Crinkled Whisper White Seam Binding with a Mini Glue Dot and use the Fine-Tip Glue Pen to adhere three Peaceful Poppies Sequins.

Perfectly Penguin

#stampinup   #faithfulinkspirations  #ProtipTuesday   Today's card is super-duper cute! And I have a confession to make: it's a "Frankenstein card." I got several swap cards using the "Playful Penguin" stamp set, but I wanted a more, er, fussy card, so I took the cards apart and put them back together in a way that satisfied my fancy self. Here's the card and then I'll tell you a little bit about how it's made.

Stinkin' cute, right? The card basics are pretty easy: Thick Whisper White Card Stock card base cut lengthwise, a Merry Merlot Card Stock mat, topped with a Pool Party Card Stock panel that's been embossed with the Subtle Embossing Folder. I tied a length of Whisper White Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon around the mat and panel before adhering them to the card base.

Next, I cut a square of Merry Merlot Card Stock with a square Stitched Shapes Die. (PROTIP: You could actually cut it from the center of the Merry Merlot mat.) I adhered this to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals. I topped that with a 2" square of striped Let It Snow Specialty Designer Series Paper. On top of that, I adhered a thin strip of Silver Glimmer Paper, popping half a Mini Stampin' Dimensional behind the right side to keep it level with the left side.

I cut the sentiment piece--stamped with Merry Merlot Ink onto Whisper White Card Stock--into a 1" by 3" strip and adhered that to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals.

The penguin is stamped in Stazon Jet Black Ink onto Whisper White Card Stock and embossed with Clear Embossing Powder. (PROTIP: If you work quickly, you can sprinkle on the Clear Embossing Powder before the ink dries and emboss any color!) His scarf is stamped in Pool Party Ink and also embossed with Clear Embossing Powder. And his hat is stamped in Merry Merlot Ink and embossed in the same way. That shine really gives him some character! Each piece is fussy cut. I adhered the penguin to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals and his hat and scarf are adhered with Snail Adhesive.

For a finishing touch, I added three Coastal Cabana Glitter Enamel Dots to the card for some extra sparkle. Isn't he just the cutest?! This card can be sent for Christmas or just a winter pick-me-up. Love that!
