Your (Post-COVID) Adventure Awaits!

#stampinup   #faithfulinkspirations   I love my work team! Before this COVID stuff hit us (and by "stuff" I'm actually thinking of another word) we used to travel the world. Right now we're in a holding pattern--planning for trips next year and hoping it will be safe enough to travel. As with all things COVID, it's wait and see--and make the best of it.

As I said--I love my work team! We get along famously--we'd have to since we (used to) spend so much time together on the road. And we do good work. Very good work. I'm so proud of them! My boss decided that she would give us all a team award. Now, these used to be lunch out with the boss, but these days, not so much. We came up with an idea for a fly-away kit that would come in handy when we can travel again. Our kit has a large thermal hot-cold cup, a gadget-and-wire keeper travel pouch, a first-aid tin, hand sanitizer, and disposable masks. Each employee was presented with a bag of goodies and I made the tags!

What better suite to use than the World of Good Suite on pages 24-26 of the Annual Catalog?! I used the tag on page 25 as my inspiration. I love, love, love the way these tags turned out! My team loved them, too, because they knew I'd made them.

The tag bases are made from Crumb Cake Card Stock and I punched the top with the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch. I stamped the compass rose onto each tag in Early Espresso Ink. I used the World Map Dies to cut the Mossy Meadow circle from a piece of World Of Good Specialty Designer Series Paper. I also used these dies to cut the overlaid globe from Gold Foil and the Misty Moonlight Card Stock element.

I stamped the stand for the globe in Early Espresso Ink and cut it out with its matching World Map Die. I stamped the "Adventure Awaits!" sentiment in Mossy Meadow Ink onto Very Vanilla Card Stock and fussy cut it with my Paper Snips. And I cut a strip of the Bumblebee World Of Good DSP.

I used Multipurpose Liquid Glue, regular and Mini Stampin' Dimensionals to assemble all the elements onto the tag. Then I tied on a length of Braided Linen Trim and I was done.

Stay healthy! Stay safe! And remember, soon, your adventure awaits!

Adventure Awaits!

#stampinup   #faithfulinkspirations   Whoa baby! It's been a really long time since I've blogged. I've been creating, but I haven't blogged. I think it's because I've been out of my routine since March. I was off work for nearly 3 months and I felt like I had all the time in the world to get stuff done. I started off with a bang and got lots of area of my house organized and got lots of little projects accomplished. But having all that time just stretched out before me made me think, "I can do it tomorrow. There's no hurry." So I think I got lazy. No, scratch that: I know I got lazy. I crave a routine. I hate getting up in the morning, but I need that routine to actually get me out of bed in the morning. I'm not thrilled with having to work 5 days a week, but when I'm only working a few days a week, I'm out of sorts. An endless "vacation" with no where to go and nothing to do has made me lazier than I would normally be. There is no rush to get anything done. So, I end up doing next to nothing. Fortunately, I go back to work full time in the next couple of weeks and I'll be back on my routine. I've learned to appreciate a routine.

So let's get on with the stamping, shall we? My twins, my surprise-it's-not-menopause babies, turned 21 in August. TWENTY.ONE. How did that happen? Of course I made them coordinating birthday cards. I used the same basic design, but changed the colors for each card. I used products from the World of Good Suite on pages 24 through 26 of the Annual Catalog because they're perfect for my kiddos who are the the verge of the great adventure of life and who both love to travel.

Baby Boy A's card is Just Jade and copper and Baby Girl B's card is Rococo Rose and copper.

For each card, I started with either a Just Jade or Rococo Rose Card Stock card base. I embossed a 3-7/8" by 5-1/8" Cinnamon Cider Card Stock panel with the Old World Paper 3D Embossing Folder and adhered it to a 4" by 5-1/4" Whisper White Card Stock mat and then onto the card base. On top of that, I added two 3" by 4" pieces of World of Good Specialty Designer Series Paper.

Next, I cut both globes (each hemisphere) from Whisper White Card Stock using the World Map Dies. Then I stamped the globe images from the "Beautiful World" stamp set in Versamark Ink onto Whisper White Card Stock. I sprinkled on White Stampin' Emboss Powder and set this with my Heat Tool. I cut out each image with the circle die from the World Map Dies.

For the die-cut globes, I squeezed ink onto the lids of the ink pads and used a Water Painter to color them in either Cinnamon Cider and Bumblebee Inks or Rococo Rose and Bumblebee Inks to match the card. For the embossed globes, I colored them with either Just Jade and Coastal Cabana Inks or Rococo Rose and Bumblebee Inks. I adhered these elements to the card with a combination of regular and Mini Stampin' Dimensionals. I also cut a striped element from Copper Foil with one of the World Map Dies and adhered this to the card with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

I stamped the "Adventure Awaits" sentiment from the "Beautiful World" stamp set in Versamark Ink onto Cinnamon Cider Card Stock and embossed it in white. Then I fussy cut the element and adhered it to the card with Mini Stampin' Dimensionals.

For a finishing touch, I added 5 Artistry Blooms Sequins to each card--these sequins go with everything!!!

Stay healthy! Stay safe!

A Better Place

#stampinup   #faithfulinkspirations   I've been home so much during the COVID 19 stay-healthy-at-home orders that my cats think I'm one of them! When I was working 5 days a week, they got used to not having me around. But now, I think they actually like me. Well, the two kittens, Sebastian and Toby, definitely like me; but the older girls, Tonks and Tali are still a bit stand-offish. Except, Tonks as been hanging with me in the stamping room. She particularly likes the bottom of the bookshelf on top of my peaceful poppies Stampin' Up backpack.

The kittens, Sebastian and Toby are in here snuffling around all the time. They try to tiptoe across my work desk without knocking everything over. They're successful about half the time. Sebastian has found a safe spot to nap over on my Big Shot desk. Somehow he looks like he's going to be guillotined. I promise you, he's safe and sound--and sound asleep!

Our kittens make our world a better place. Pets are like that, aren't they? So in honor of my stamping room cats who make my world better, let's see today's card. It's made with super products from the World of Good Suite on pages 24-26 of the annual catalog.

I started by embossing a 3-3/4" by 5" Mossy Meadow Card Stock panel with the Old World Paper 3D Embossing Folder. I added a 1" by 5" strip of World of Good Specialty Designer Series Paper to this and then adhered it to a 4" by 5-1/4" Whisper White Card Stock Panel. Then I adhered everything to a Mossy Meadow Card Stock card base.

I used the World Map Dies to cut the map for the globe from Mossy Meadow Card Stock. I adhered that to a 1-3/4" Misty Moonlight Card Stock circle that I punched with the 1-3/4" Circle Punch. I adhered the globe to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals. I used another of the World Map Dies to cut the globe stand from Gold Foil and adhered that to the card with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive.

Finally, I stamped a sentiment from the "Beautiful World" stamp set in Mossy Meadow Ink onto Whisper White Card Stock and punched it out with the 2" Circle Punch. I adhered this to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals.

You can purchase the "Beautiful World" stamp set and World Map Dies together in a bundle (item 154091) and save 10% off the price of purchasing them separately. Or, better yet, you can get the entire World of Good Suite of products with one item number (154140) which includes the 10% off bundle and all kinds of spectacular coordinating goodness.
