Poppin' Soup

#stampinup   #faithfulinkspirations   The "Get Well Soup" stamp went on my order almost as soon as it was available. I love this giant stamp--it's so easy to make a really sweet get well card to cheer someone's day.  Add the sweet stamp to some Melon Mambo Card Stock and Pop of Pink Specialty Series Paper and you've got a card that is certain to cheer up its recipient!
I stamped the image in Melon Mambo Ink onto a 3" by 4" piece of Whisper White Card Stock. I adhered it to a 3-1/8" by 4-1/8" Basic Black mat.  Next, I adhered a 3-3/4" by 5" piece of Pop of Pink DSP to a 3-7/8" by 5-1/8" Basic Black mat.  I adhered a 2" by 2-7/8" strip of a Melon Mambo piece of DSP to the center and then wrapped a length of Melon Mambo Thick Baker's Twine around the assembly.  I adhered everything to a Melon Mambo Card Stock card base.

I adhered the stamped image to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals.

For a finishing touch, I adhered a few strips of Pop of Pink Washi Tape to a card stock scrap and then punched it out with the Petite Petals Punch. I adhered this to the card with Glue Dots. And for a final bit of magic, I added a Melon Mambo Enamel Circle to the center of the flower. So cute!!

If you've been reading my posts these last two weeks, you'll know that the items in red are retiring at the end of May--some of them are on sale! The tools and accessories are only available while supplies last, so get them before they're gone. Ask me how!

Creation Station: Get Well Soon

#stampinup   #faithfulinkspirations   #creationstation   Welcome back to another edition of the Creation Station blog hop. We have loads of great projects to inspire you--from our round-the-world design team.  This time we're featuring get well projects.

I've been in love with the "Get Well Soup" a la carte stamp since it showed up in the catalog. It's big. It's bold. It's ding-dang cute. I really love to paper-piece the elements of this stamp. Since it's so big, fussy cutting the elements is a cinch!

What better a gift for someone whose not feeling well then some chicken soup? For my project, I've made "Faux" Chicken Soup in a Jar. My daughter is a vegetarian and she loves soup. So I followed this recipe I found on Pinterest, substituting the chicken bouillon with vegetable bouillon.

I started by stamping the bowl of soup in Island Indigo onto a piece of Whisper White Thick Card Stock. I stamped the bowl again in Island Indigo onto a piece of the beautiful Blooms & Bliss Designer Series Paper. I stamped the image once more onto a scrap of So Saffron Card Stock. I used my Paper Snips to fussy cut the bowl, the back rim of the bowl, and the "soup," and adhered them to the image stamped on the Whisper White Thick Card Stock. I also fussy cut one of the flowers from the Blooms & Bliss DSP and adhered this over the stamped heart. I added a small Metal Rimmed Pearl to the center of the flower.

I cut a 5" by 2" strip of Island Indigo Card Stock and punched one end with the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch. I rounded the corners of the end of the label with the Envelope Punch Board. I adhered a piece of a Delicate White Doily to the bowl before adhering it to the label. I cut long lengths of Dapper Denim Ruched Ribbon, Mint Macaron Sheer Linen Ribbon, and Whisper White Thick Baker's Twine to tie the label around the top of a mason jar.

Next I made a "love note" 3" by 3" card to go along with the soup-in-a-jar gift. I cut a 3" by 6" piece of Mint Macaron Card Stock for the card base. Then I used the Layering Squares Framelits to cut an Island Indigo scalloped mat and a Whisper White panel. I stamped a sentiment from the "Teeny TIny Wishes" stamp set in Island Indigo onto the Whisper White panel. I stamped the outlines of flowers from the "Penned & Painted" stamp set in Island Indigo and filled them in with Mint Macaron. I love this two-step stamp set! I adhered the scalloped piece to the card base with Stampin' Dimensionals.

Of course the love note needs a matching envelope, so I used my Envelop Punch Board to make a coordinating envelope from another sheet of Blooms & Bliss DSP. Who wouldn't start feeling just a little bit better to receive this gift set?

I hope you enjoyed my projects. Please use the "next" and "back" buttons to head around the blog hop for even more inspiration!

Peach Soup

#stampinup   One of the beautiful new In Colors for 2016-17 is Peekaboo Peach. I've heard talk on the interwebz that some stampers are finding it hard to use this color. I think I'll be just fine--once I my Stampin' Up order gets here! I only have a few stamp sets and designer series papers and ribbons from the pre-order. I feel like I'm on a stamp "diet!" And I don't like it. Anyway, I tried my hand at using Peekaboo Peach with my limited supplies as I play along in this week's Global Design Project challenge.

When I saw the theme, I immediately thought about using the "Get Well Soup" stamp. I love this big, bold stamp and my favorite way to use it is to paper piece the bowl. I stamped the image onto a Whisper White panel in Basic Black Archival Ink. I stamped the bowl on one of the polka dotty sheets of the Playful Palette Designer Series Paper Stack. I fussy cut the bowl and adhered it to the stamped image. I didn't like the black heart in the middle of the bowl and the Sweetheart Punch was a little too big to cover it, so I used the larger flower from the trio of flowers from the "Grateful Bunch" stamp set, which I colored in Sweet Sugarplum using a Blender Pen. I adhered the flower to the bowl with a couple of glue dots.

I adhered the main panel to a Basic Black mat and I am kicking myself because I didn't order Peekaboo Peach Rushed Ribbon so I added a length of Sweet Sugarplum Ruched Ribbon to the assembly before adhering it to a Peekaboo Peach card base.

I'll admit that I need to play a little more with Peekaboo Peach, but I think I'm going to fall in love with it--just like I've fallen in love with all the 2016-17 In Colors!
