Creation Station Celebrates Fall & Halloween!

Welcome to another edition of the Creation Station blog hop! This time we're featuring the set "Fall Fest" and our theme is Halloween.  Since I don't have that stamp set and I don't own any current Halloween stamps, I've had to improvise--but isn't that what creativity is all about??

The only Halloweeny stamp I have is one from the "Mingle All The Way" stamp set. I colored the stamp with Tangerine Tango and Basic Black markers to get a two-color image. I cut the image with one of the circles from the Circles Framelits Collection and punched the Tangerine Tango mat with the 2-1/2" Circle Punch. I used a panel from the "Flowerpot" DSP pack for an accent and tied a piece of Calypso Coral seam binding onto the front of the card. Cute, huh?

(Stamp Set: Mingle All The Way; Card Stock: Basic Black, Tangerine Tango, Whisper White; DSP: Flowerpot; Accessories: Circle Card Thinlit Die, Circles Framelits Collection, 2-1/2" Circle Punch, Calypso Coral Seam Binding, Tangerine Tango and Basic Black Stampin' Write Markers)
Since Halloween is such a fun holiday, I wanted the inside of the card to be fun, so I pulled out all the stops!

(Stamp Set: Good Greetings Hostess Set; Ink: Tangerine Tango; Card Stock: Basic Black, Tangerine Tango, Whisper White; Accessories: Circle Card Thinlit Die, 2-1/2" Circle Punch, Elegant Butterfly Punch, Modern Label Punch, Word Window Punch, Zig Zag Embossing Folder, Calypso Coral Seam Binding, Basic Gray Baker's Twine)
I strung a bunch of bats inside the card! When you open the striped flap, the bats "fly" across the card. To cover the hole I made in the circle, I added an extra bat--it makes me think of a bat flying across a full moon. The greeting is from the "Good Greetings" hostess set (available through the end of October with a $300 order or workshop).

Here's how to make the bat using the Elegant Butterfly punch. First, punch the butterfly as usual. Then, attach it to a post-it note to use as a handle. Then, put it back into the punch like this and punch again.

Here's a close-up of the bats. I think they're so adorable (if I do say so myself)!!!

Creation Station: Harvest Party

Welcome to another session of Creation Station! This time our theme is "Harvest Party" and we're featuring the set "For All Things" from the Holiday catalog.

My first project is a Thanksgiving invitation. I used the beautiful "Color Me Autumn" DSP for the wrapper. The invitation is closed with a length of 7/8" Natural Cotton Ribbon.

(Stamp Set: Good Greetings (Hostess); Ink: Cajun Craze; Card Stock: Cajun Craze, Very Vanilla; DSP: Color Me Autumn; Accessories: 7/8" Natural Cotton Ribbon, Gold Baker's Twine, Oval and Scalloped Oval Punches)

I made a dangly tag using the "Good Greeting" hostess set. I tied the tag onto the ribbon with Gold Baker's Twine--and I unraveled the gold so the tendrils would stick out.

Inside the invitation, I used the "Holiday Invitation" set also from the Holiday catalog. Here's how I was able to line up the 3 individual photopolymer stamps onto one block.

After I stamped the invitation, I cut it using the Oval Accent Bigz Clear die and mounted it on Cajun Craze and Old Olive card stock.

Next up, is the table setting, using the same "Color Me Autumn" DSP and 7/8" Natural Cotton Ribbon. On the front, I used one of the cards from the "Seasonal Snapshot Project Life Card Collection," mounted on Cajun Craze and Old Olive card stock.

Finally, I made a Thanksgiving treat bag. I filled a 4" by 6" cellophane bag with autumn colored M&Ms and tied it with a length of Calypso Coral Seam Binding and added a bit of Gold Sequin Trim. The tag is made with the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch and stamped in Calypso Coral and Old Olive (stamped off once) ink.

You can follow the blog hop all the way around by using the "next" and "back" buttons. Next up is the fabulous Cindy Beach.

Criss-Cross Thank You

This week's challenge on the Create with Connie and Mary blog is a sketch challenge. I saw the sketch and knew right away that my lonely washi tapes were going to come in handy. I have all my washi right on my desk in front of me, hoping to be inspired to use them. But they just sit there mocking me. Well, not today washi; not today.

Here's the sketch:

And here's what I made.

(Stamp Sets: Watercolor Thank You, Good Greetings; Ink: Pool Party; Card Stock: Crushed Curry, Real Red, Whisper White; Accessories:Beach House Washi Tape, Sunburst Framelits Collection, 2-1/4" Circle Punch)
The "Watercolor Thank You" stamp was still on my desk and I thought it would be perfect for this challenge. I also used the "Good Greetings" hostess set that YOU can earn through the end of October when you host a workshop with at least $300 in orders. Contact me today to schedule your workshop!!
