Soft Sympathy

#stampinup   #faithfulinkspirations   I never want to have to send sympathy cards, but when there is a need for one, I want to send a beautiful card with a heartfelt note inside. For this reason, I participated in a sympathy card swap at Stampin' Up's OnStage Live event in November. I received so many beautifully made cards in this swap...just like today's card. The designer is Sandy Nitschke and her card is stunning!
Sandy stamped the sprig of leaves from the "Petal Palette" stamp set, twice, in Versamark onto a 2" by 5-1/2" Soft Sea Foam Card Stock panel. She sprinkled on Copper Stampin' Emboss Powder and set it with a Heat Tool. She adhered this to a 2-1/2" by 5-1/2" Crumb Cake mat. Look how gorgeous this is!
Next, Sandy embossed a 3-3/4" by 5-1/2" Whisper White mat with the Subtle Embossing folder. She adhered this to a Soft Sea Foam Card Stock card base, and then adhered the stamped image to the card.

She cut a sprig of leaves from Vellum Card Stock using one of the Petals and More Thinlits. She adhered just the bottom of the sprig to the card with a Glue Dot. Sandy then stamped a sentiment from the "Better Together" stamp set in Soft Sea Foam Ink onto Soft Sea Foam Card Stock and cut it out with a the banner framelit from the Petals and More Thinlits. She used the same framelit to cut another of the same banner from Crumb Cake Card Stock. Sandy cut the Crumb Cake banner in half and adhered the Soft Sea Foam banner to the top. She adhered this to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals. She finished the card by adding two Gold Metallic Pearls.

This card is simply elegant! Thanks for the beautiful card, Sandy!

Comfort & Healing

#stampinup   #faithfulinkspirations   #ublueunwind   I didn't buy the "Petal Palette" stamp set and matching Petals & More Thinlits when it was in the Occasions Catalog, so I'm thrilled that it carried over to the current Annual Catalog! It's a great, all-occasion set. I love the soft images and sentiments. I was also thrilled to see that Ceal Pritchett had used this stamp set and thinlits for our Unwind Blue retreat shoebox swap!!
Ceal did a lot of the work for us--not the least of which was designing the card and preparing the various card parts! She stamped the floral image in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink onto Whisper White Card Stock and cut it out with the matching Petals & More Thinlit. Ceal also colored the image with Light and Dark Pool Party Stampin' Blends and Light and Dark Old Olive Stampin' Blends.

We stamped the leaf images three times in Smoky Slate Ink onto a 4" by 5-1/4" Whisper White mat. We adhered the floral image to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals. We stamped a sentiment from the "Flourishing Phrases" stamp set in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and then adhered everything to a Smoky Slate Card Stock card base. Isn't this beautiful?! Thanks, Ceal!

Springtime Scene

#stampinup   #faithfulinkspirations   I like to attend stamping events that other stampers host. I learn some new techniques and get to play with products I don't own myself. That certainly was true when I attended my team member, Darlene's, workshop last weekend. I'm going to save the awesome technique I learned for another time, but I'm thrilled to be sharing this card that we made with some great products that I don't have.
This card is made with the "Petal Palette" stamp set and coordinating Petals and More Thinlits Dies. We stamped three of the flowers in Perfect Plum Ink onto Whisper White Card Stock. We stamped the bird in Basic Gray Archival Ink. We colored the bird and the centers of the flowers with a Daffodil Delight Watercolor Pencil. We used the Petals and More Thinlits to cut out these elements. We also cut out a Garden Green Card Stock spray of leaves with another of the Petals and More Thinlits.

We stamped the leaf image from the "Petal Palette" stamp set in Pear Pizzazz Ink several times onto a 5" by 1-3/4" strip of Whisper White Card Stock. We embossed a 2" by 5" strip of Pear Pizzazz Card Stock with the vine folder from the Petal Pair Embossing Folders Set.

I waited until I got home to assemble my card because I was too busy socializing with my friends. I switched up Darlene's design just a little bit. I added my leaf and vine strips to a 3-7/8" by 5-1/8" Perfect Plum Card Stock mat and then wrapped a length of 1/4" Whisper White Organza Ribbon around before adhering everything to a Whisper White Card Stock card base.

I finished the card by using the Fine-Tip Glue Pen to adhere the die-cut leaf spray to the card and Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the die-cut flowers and bird. This is a great springtime scene that would be perfect to brighten someone's day!

A Little Birdie Told Me

#stampinup   #faithfulinkspirations   A little birdie told me that the new Stampin' Up catalogs are here! Today is the launch of Stampin' Up's Occasions mini catalog and the start of Sale-a-Bration!! It's so exciting when Stampin' Up releases new products. As a demonstrator, we can order them ahead of time and start playing with them--just one of the many perks of being a demonstrator! I've had a few projects made and ready to go, but waited until today to start sharing them with you.

First, let me tell you about Sale-a-Bration (as if you didn't know). It's the most wonderful time of the Stampin' Up year. There are three ways to earn FREE Sale-a-Bration products.

SHOP! For every $50 you spend, you’ll receive a free Sale-A-Bration product. This year we have a new reward level, giving you more options for your free items. Let’s break it down:
  • If you spend $50, you get one free level 1 product.
  • If you spend $100, you get one free level 2 product, OR, you can choose two level 1 items.
  • If you spend $150, you have the option to choose three level 1 items or one level 1 item and one level 2 item.
HOST! When you host a qualifying party with at least $250 in sales during Sale-A-Bration, you’ll earn $25 more in Stampin’ Rewards! So instead of earning $25 for $250 in sales, you will earn $50 in Stampin' Rewards.

JOIN! It's always a good time to join Stampin' Up as a demonstrator--but when you join during Sale-A-Bration, you get even more! Before you say, "But I don't want to be a demonstrator," let me tell you this: The demonstrator starter kit is a no-strings-attached bundle. You get to create your own kit. For $99 you get your choice of up to $125 in products for $99 (that’s $26 in free products) and the kit ships free for another 10% savings.  You may includeitems from the Occasions Catalog as well as Annual Catalog in your kit.  (Sale-A-Bration rewards do not apply to the $99 Starter Kit purchase.) BONUS!  CHOOSE TWO FREE STAMP SETS (any price) when you join during Sale-A-Bration.  That’s up to an additional $101 value! Sign up with me on line here during Sale-A-Bration (Jan. 3-March 31) to get up to $226 in Stampin' Up product for only $99!!  Then you can enjoy 20-25% off Stampin' Up products on subsequent orders from the day you join through at least July 31, 2018.  You can drop at the end of July with no penalty! But, you may just want to keep your demonstratorship. Contact me with any questions, or click on the "join my team" link above for more information.

Now on to our regularly scheduled stampin' program. How cute is this card?! The bird and sentiment are from the "Petal Palette" stamp set in the Occasions catalog. (Click on the link on the right side of this blog.) The bird is stamped in Calypso Coral Ink and the sentiment in Basic Black Archival Ink onto a Whisper White circle punched with the 2-1/4" Circle Punch. The Designer Series paper (3-1/2" by 5-1/2") is called Petal Passion--it's printed from a handpainted watercolor design and all the sheets are in shades of black and white. I colored in some of the flowers with a Calypso Coral Stampin' Write Marker. The DSP is adhered to a Calypso Coral Card Stock card base.

I adhered a 3-1/2" by 3/4" strip of striped DSP from the same package and a 3-1/2" by 3/4" strip of Smoky Slate Card Stock to the card. I then added a long length of 1/4" Whisper White Organza Ribbon, looping it back and forth. This ribbon is so pretty! Then I adhered the stamped bird image with Stampin' Dimensionals. To finish the card I used Glue Dots to adhere two of the Petal Passion metallic embellishments to the card.

Come back tomorrow for another great card from the Occasions catalog. I know you'll love it!!
