Last-Chance Products: Stylized BD Again!

#stampinup   #faithfulinkspirations   Sometimes Stampin' Up's designer series papers are so utterly gorgeous that I have a hard time cutting into them. And that means I don't use them, because I'm hoarding them. Does that ever happen to you? I'm sad to see the Painted With Love Specialty DSP retire--but it's still available as of April 24! You can still get some, if you act fast! Several other DSPs are already sold out and gone forever.

Today's card also uses one of my favorite stamps--the "Stylized Birthday" stamp. I stamped it in Melon Mambo Ink onto Whisper White Card Stock and then used my Paper Snips to cut it out. I thought that would be fun. Look!

The card base is Calypso Coral Card Stock. The 3-3/4" by 5" piece of Painted With Love Specialty DSP is adhered to a 3-7/8" by 5-1/8" Melon Mambo Card Stock mat. I wrapped a length of Powder Pink Shimmer Ribbon around before adhering to the card base.

I cut a scalloped mat using one of the Layering Squares Framelits from a Gold Foil Sheet and a square of Powder Pink Card Stock using a Stitched Shapes Framelit. I adhered these to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals. I adhered the fussy cut sentiment using both regular and Mini Stampin' Dimensionals. And for a fun touch, I added some Berry Burst Glitter Enamel Dots.

FAIR WARNING: Retiring stamp sets are only guaranteed to be available until May 25. All other products are NOT guaranteed and are only available while supplies last. ALL retiring items will be discontinued after May 31.

Last-Chance Products: Stylized Birthday

#stampinup   #faithfulinkspirations   Today's card is a cornucopia of retiring products. Can you find them all? Well, you can start with the stamp--it's the wonderful "Stylized Birthday" single stamp. I can't tell you how many times I've used it. I love it and I'm certainly going to miss it. I might use it a few more times before it retires on May 31st (to make way for new stamps).
What else is retiring? How about the Dapper Denim Ink and Card Stock? Yep. That's a retiring 2016-2018 In Color. Emerald Envy, Sweet Sugarplum, and Peekaboo Peach are also retiring. (Flirty Flamingo is returning as a core color!) If you want any of these 2016-2018 In Color products, you will need to act fast. The retiring In Colors normally sell out early--so get a move on if you want them. Don't say I didn't warn you.

What else? Well, the gorgeous Eastern Palace Specialty Designer Series Paper is retiring, too.  This rich, colorful paper has beautiful designs (like the two pieces on this card) as well as some gold foil sheets. They're beautiful! Don't forget to scoop them up before they're gone. (True fact: There are 3 DSPs that are already sold out: Whole Lot of Lovely, Coffee Break, and Delightful Daisy).

Anything else? Nope! The great Lemon Lime Twist Ombre Ribbon is NOT retiring and my much-loved Stitched Shapes and Layering Squares Framelits are NOT retiring. Whew! I almost couldn't take it!

Here are a few things to remember about the retiring items. Retiring stamp sets will only be guaranteed to be available until May 25. All other products are NOT guaranteed and are only available while supplies last. ALL retiring items will be discontinued after May 31.

Have a great weekend! I'll be sharing more last-chance products next week so come on back!

Creation Station Tricks of the Trade

#stampinup   #faithfulinkspirations   #creationstation   Since October is the month of Halloween, our Creation Station design team has some tricks for you--tricks of the trade! We're going to show you a variety of stamping "hacks" that we hope will inspire you.

I love embossing folders. I use them in my card making all the time. I love the way they take a flat, plain piece of card stock to the next level by giving it some texture and dimension. When I don't use an embossing folder, I feel like the paper is naked.

Did you know that you can stamp with your embossing folders?! Yes you can! And it's so quick and easy--my favorite stamping "technique!"

For my first card, I used the Hexagons Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. I inked up a Sponge Dauber with Crushed Curry Ink and pounced onto the raised hexagons on every other row.

I used another Sponge Dauber to apply Fresh Fig Ink on the alternate rows. Once I'd inked up the folder, I held it about 1 foot away and used a Stampin' Spritzer to lightly spray the embossing folder with water. Then I laid a 3-3/4" by 5" piece of Shimmery White Card Stock onto the folder, closed it, and rubbed it all over so that the ink transferred to the card stock. Lookie! How cool this is! PROTIP: You need to wait until your paper dries, or use a Heat Tool to speed drying.

I adhered my "stamped" panel to a 3-7/8" by 5-1/8" piece of Crushed Curry Card Stock, wrapped a length of Crushed Curry Mini Chevron Ribbon around, and adhered it to a Fresh Fig Card Stock card base.

I stamped the "Stylish Birthday" stamp in Fresh Fig onto a Whisper White and cut it out with a square Stitched Framelit. I cut out a scalloped Fresh Fig mat with one of the Layering Squares Framelits. I adhered this piece to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals.

For a bit of bling--I almost always have to add some bling--I added three Glitter Enamel Dots. I think this card is super cute!
For my next card, I opened up the Petal Burst Textured Impressions folder and opened up my Pear Pizzazz Ink pad and applied the ink directly to the raised side of the folder.

I held the folder at about 1 foot distance and lightly spritzed it with water from my Stampin' Spritzer. Again, I laid a 3-3/4" by 5" piece of Shimmery White Card Stock onto the folder, closed it, and rubbed it all over so that the ink transferred to the card stock. Awesome!
I adhered this piece to a 3-7/8" by 5-1/8" piece of Pear Pizzazz Card Stock, wrapped a length of Whisper White Classic Weave Ribbon around, and adhered it to a Thick Whisper White Card Stock card base.

Next, I used the Daisy Punch to punch two daisies from Whisper White Card Stock. I adhered them together with a Stampin' Dimensional and to the card with another Dimensional. I popped a Clear Faceted Gem in the center.

The sentiment is from the "Tabs For Everything" stamp set. I stamped it in Pear Pizzazz onto a Whisper White scrap and punched it out with the Classic Label Punch, snipped the end off, and adhered it to the card with two Mini Stampin' Dimensionals. I really like how this card--and the super awesome background--turned out!!
