Iconic Note Cards (Part One)

#stampinup   #faithfulinkspirations   Yesterday I shared the pretty box I made for a set of note cards that was one of my 3D projects at Stampin' Up's OnStage Local event in November 2016.  Today--and again tomorrow--I'm sharing three of the note cards that I created using the "Iconic Occasions" host set.

Because the images in the "Iconic Occasions" set are so small, I downsized my cards and used the Whisper White Note Cards (item 131527).  But I couldn't just use the note cards, as is, I had to add some pizzazz to them!

For each of today's cards, I cut a 3" by 4-7/8" Crumb Cake mat.  I also cut a 3-1/4" by 4-3/4" Whisper White panel.  Because I wanted the scribbled circle to be in the same place on all my cards, I used the MISTI positioning tool.  If you don't have a MISTI, you can certainly use the Stamp-a-Ma-Jig positioning tool. I stamped the circle scribble in Crumb Cake Ink on all three cards.

I also used the MISTI to position the image inside the circle and the sentiment in Watermelon Wonder Ink.  I adhered the stamped panel to the Crumb Cake mat and tied a length of Linen Thread around each before adhering them to the note card with Stampin' Dimensionals.

Iconic Note Card Box

#stampinup   #faithfulinkspirations   When I was selected to be a display stamper at Stampin' Up's OnStage event in November, I was given a box of supplies to create my samples.  Among the items in my box was the "Iconic Occasions" host set and Tasty Treats card stock pack with Watermelon Wonder, Crumb Cake, and Thick Whisper White card stock.  My assignment was to make cards, 3D items, and scrapbook pages.

The images in the "Iconic Occasions" stamp set are so tiny! I usually gravitate toward larger images.  But then I hit on an idea!  Why not make a smaller card?  So I got a package of Whisper White Note Cards (item 131527) and went to work!  I'll be showing the individual note cards tomorrow and Wednesday--so come back to see them up close and personal!!

Once I had all the note cards made, they needed a pretty box to go in.  I started with an 8" by 8" square of Watermelon Wonder Card Stock and used the Envelope Punch Board to make the box.  If you'd like to make one, too, here's my template.

Next, I cut a 10" by 2" strip of Crumb Cake Card Stock and embossed it with the Sparkle Embossing Folder.  I scored it as below.  I used Tear & Tape to adhere the ends and then I added a length of 5/8" Inch Watermelon Wonder Mini Striped Ribbon.

Here's the finished box.

I slipped a Delicate White Doily behind the belly band and adhered it.  I stamped two images from the "Iconic Occasions" stamp set in Watermelon Wonder and Crumb Cake onto a Whisper White scrap and cut it out with one of the Layering Circles Framelits.  I also cut a Watermelon Wonder scalloped circle using the same framelits.  I adhered a piece of the Watermelon Wonder Ribbon to the back of this and then used Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere this piece to a Gold Metallic Foil Doily.  I tousled some Linen Thread and adhered this to the back of the metallic doily before adhering the assembly to the belly band.

I made 6 note cards to go inside the box.  Here's the whole set.  Tomorrow and Wednesday I'll show you the cards, 3 by 3.  Come back and see!

Mainz Flower Market

#stampinup   #faithfulinkspirations   I'm very fortunate to have a job that allows me travel.  I get to go to amazing places that I wouldn't be able to otherwise visit.  Last fall I traveled to Mainz, Germany, home to the Gutenberg Museum and the Mainz Cathedral.  It's a pretty town with lots of little shops and restaurants, right along the beautiful Rhine River.

During my stay, there was a farmer's market in Mainz old town, right in the cathedral square.  There were stalls and stalls of fruits, vegetables, and amazingly beautiful flowers.  I took lots and lots of pictures.  I knew I'd need some shots for a scrapbook layout for my display stamper projects--and the flower stalls were the perfect subjects!

I started with a 12" by 12" piece of Whisper White Card Stock.  I stamped the scribbled circle image from the "Iconic Occasions" hostess set (item 143199) in Melon Mambo, Rich Razzleberry, and Blushing Bride inks--some full strength, and some stamped off.  Then I flicked Gold Wink of Stella onto the page for some random gold flecks.

While that was drying, I added a piece of Fruit Stand Designer Series Paper to the two larger photos and a bit of Delicate White Doily to the two smaller photos.  I adhered these to the page with Fast Fuse Adhesive.  I used the Project Life Journaling Pen to add the description to the page.

This is such a quick and easy layout and the Whisper White page lets the fabulous floral colors shine!

Sorry You Are Sad

#stampinup   #faithfulinkspirations   I love the tiny images in the "Iconic Occasions" host set (item 143199)--and I love how they fit into the scribbled circle image.  But for this card, I wanted to try something a little different.  I thought that the sentiment would pair well with an image that "faded."  Here's how I created the card.

I started with a 1" strip of Whisper White Card Stock and flagged the end with the Banner Triple Punch.  I used the Stamp-a-ma-Jig to position the flower pot image across the flag.  I stamped the flower pot image in Pink Pirouette closest to the flag.  The middle flower pot is Blushing Bride and the one on the left is Watermelon Wonder.  The sentiment is stamped in Crumb Cake ink.

I embossed a 2" by 3-7/8" piece of Watermelon Wonder with the Festive Embossing Folder and added it to a 3-7/8" by 5-1/8" piece of Crumb Cake Card Stock.  I adhered this to a Thick Whisper White card base using Stampin' Dimensionals. 

I cut a length of 5/8" Mini Striped Watermelon Ribbon and snipped the end with my Paper Snips.  I adhered this to the card with Fast Fuse Adhesive.  Then I added the stamped strip, also with Fast Fuse.

Another quick and easy card, perfect to cheer up a friend in need.
