Creation Station: Thankful!!

Hi! And welcome back to a new and improved Creation Station blog hop! The moderators have invited several amazing Stampin' Up demonstrators from around the world to join our group. Today's hop will take you to 13 blogs. I'm sure you'll find inspiration here! I know I will!

Our theme this time is "Thankful!" Some of our design team will be using Stampin' Up's "Lighthearted Leaves" and "Me=Grateful" stamp sets. Our featured product is washi tape.

I have to admit that I didn't "get" washi tape when Stampin' Up first started carrying it. I just couldn't figure out what to do with it. I'm still finding it a bit challenging, but I'm hopeful that my projects will help you start using your stash of washi--or buy every roll we sell!!

For my first project, I used several of the 5 spools of washi in the Season of Cheer Designer Washi collection. This project was super easy! I started at the bottom of a glass votive candle and wrapped the first Mossy Meadow washi once around. Next, I added the Pear Pizzaz washi, then the Soft Sky, the Cherry Cobbler, and finished with the Hello Honey. I lined the seams up in the back (if you can have a "back" of a circle). The washi was so easy to apply--it's a little bit stretchy and you can peel it off and reposition it, if you need to.

I added an inexpensive battery-operated flickering tea light. I think this would be adorable at a Christmas place setting--or several of them on a mantle would look sweet.

Next, I unwrapped my Cherry on Top Designer Washi tape and got to work. I've probably had this washi since the catalog preorder, but I never got around to using it. Do you ever have stampin' toys that you forget to play with??

I covered a 2" square of card stock with four different styles of washi. Next, I cut a star out of a piece of Whisper White Card Stock with one of the Stars Framelits and then embossed it with the Lucky Stars Embossing Folder. I adhered the washi piece behind the Whisper White panel so that it peeks through the opening. Next, I aligned two Stars Framelits on a piece of Bermuda Bay Card Stock and ran them through the Big Shot to get the star frame. I adhered this to the Whisper White Panel with the Fine Tip Glue pen.

I added the Whisper White panel to a Watermelon Wonder mat and tied a length of Whisper White Organza Ribbon around before adhering everything to a Cucumber Crush card base. Then I stamped a sentiment from the "One Big Meaning" stamp set in Bermuda Bay on a scrap of Whisper White and punched it out with the Word Window Punch.

I love these bright and cheery colors in the Cherry on Top Designer Washi. They also coordinate nicely with the "Build A Birthday" stamp set.

For my final project, I figured I'd better do something for our Creation Station blog theme! I used the "For All Things" stamp set because it's the only fall set I own ;-) I combined colors from the Season of Cheer Designer Washi--Mossy Meadow and Hello Honey--with one of the colors from the Cherry on Top Designer Washi--Crushed Curry.

I stamped the background stamp from the "For All Things" set in Hello Honey in the center of a Very Vanilla panel. I stamped the leaves on top in Mossy Meadow. Next, I laid down three strips of washi tape. I added some splatters in Cajun Craze from the "Awesomely Artistic"set. Then, I added a Gold Basic Metal Button, tied with a strand of Linen Thread.

I adhered the main panel to a Hello Honey mat and then onto a Mossy Meadow card base. I used my Cajun Craze Stampin' Write Marker to ink the word "grateful" from the "grateful for you" stamp in the "For All Things" set and stamped it onto a strip of Hello Honey card stock.

Here's a closer look at the washi strips and the button.

I hope you were inspired by my creations and I encourage you to continue hopping around the blogs. Use the "next" button and you'll go on to the fabulous Kimberly Van Diepen's blog.
