Art Is Messy

#stampinup   #faithfulinkspirations  I've only been home from England for a couple of weeks, but I long to go back. I love England--I've been loads of places in that country and I love everywhere I've been. Today's card reminds me of something I had once in England--Eton Mess. It's a yummy concoction of all kinds of ingredients thrown together and its heavenly!

Today's card has all kinds of ingredients thrown together and...well, is it art? Or it is just a hot mess? You decide!
Since it's Thursday, I'm saying a fond farewell to Lemon Lime Twist (retiring). I love to pair LLT with Flirty Flamingo and I had an idea in my head for a card that would do just that. Well, my idea and my execution didn't quite match up, but I think I might have fallen into something.

I started by using the Stitched Rectangle Dies to cut a LLT Card Stock mat, a Flirty Flamingo mat, and a Whisper White panel. I used the Stamparatus to position my card stock and stamp and stamped the large sentiment from the "Amazing Life" stamp set (retiring) in Versamark Ink onto the Whisper White Panel. I sprinkled on some White Stampin' Emboss Powder and heat set the image.

Next, I sponged LLT ink all over the Whisper White panel and rubbed the extra ink off the embossed portion. I thought the image was too light, so I put the panel back into the Stamparatus and inked up the stamp with Flirty Flamingo Ink and stamped again--just off-set from the original image.

I still wanted some sparkle so I brushed Wink of Stella all over the image and then sponged it into the Flirty Flamingo and LLT. It brought a nice shine and dimension to the card. I added a few Flirty Flamingo stamped dots and tied on a length of Whisper White Classic Weave Ribbon (retiring) and adhered everything to a Thick Whisper White Card Stock card base, cut lengthwise.
So how did I do? Is it art? Or is it a hot mess?

Hello, Goodbye, Hello

#stampinup   #faithfulinkspirations   Starting today, and over the next month, I'm going to be featuring new and continuing products (yay!) and retiring products (sniff!) on my blog. I've even set up a little schedule for you. Here's what you'll be seeing.

Mondays will be stamps sets that are continuing on in the 2019-2020 Annual Catalog.

Tuesdays will be stamp sets that are retiring (so get them before they're gone forever)!

Wednesday I'll feature NEW products from the 2019-2020 Annual Catalog.

Thursdays will be a retiring In Color (Berry Burst, Powder Pink, Lemon Lime Twist, Tranquil Tide, and Fresh Fig).

Fridays will be a surprise--to both of us! I'm not sure what I'll do for Fridays, so let's be surprised together.

Since it's Thursday, today's project features the retiring In Color Fresh Fig--with a little Powder Pink thrown in.

I started by stamping an image from one of my favorite retiring sets, "Amazing Life," in Fresh Fig Ink (retiring) onto a Whisper White panel that I cut with a Stitched Rectangle Die. I used my Blender Pen to lift some color from the lid of a Powder Pink Ink Pad (retiring) and colored in the letters for "happy." I adhered this to a Mossy Meadow Card Stock mat that I cut with a larger Stitched Rectangle Die. I tied a length of Fresh Fig 1/8" Sheer Ribbon (retiring) around this piece.

PROTIP: Get the "Amazing Life" stamp set and Stitched Rectangle Dies in a bundle and save 10% off ordering them separately!

Next, I adhered a 4" by 5-1/4" gorgeous piece of printed vellum from the Floral Romance Specialty Designer Series Paper collection (retiring) to a Powder Pink Card Stock (retiring) card base--making sure that my Snail Adhesive would be hidden by the stamped image. I adhered the stamped image to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals.

I stamped the flowers from the "Amazing Life" set in Fresh Fig and Mossy Meadow Inks a few times onto a scrap of Whisper White Card Stock. I used my Blender Pen to pick up some Fresh Fig Ink from the lid of the pad and colored in the flowers. I fussy cut the flowers and leaves and assembled them on the card, adhering them with a Stampin' Dimensional.

To add the final bits of bling, I colored "happy" and the flowers with some Clear Wink of Stella and placed a Share What You Love Artisan Pearl (retiring) in the center of each flower.

I think this card turned out super cute--and I'm going to miss all the retiring elements that I used to make this card. But you don't have to miss out on getting these items--they're still available (while supplies last) until June 3rd. So get your order on! What are you waiting for??!! Just click on the thumbnails below and you'll go directly to my store where you can place your order.

Did Someone Say "Cake"?!

#stampinup   #faithfulinkspirations   If you know me, really know me, you know that I love cake! Well, a certain kind of cake:  yellow or white cake with buttercream frosting. If you add sprinkles, you'll have made my day!  There's something about a birthday cake or a wedding cake that's just a perfect melange of sweetness that makes me really, really happy!

Today's card uses a three images from Stampin' Up's super cute "Amazing Life" stamp set. I lined all three images up on one acrylic block (block E) and stamped them in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink onto Whisper White Card Stock that I cut with one of the Stitched Rectangles Framelits. The "Amazing Life" and Rectangle Stitched Shapes Framelits come in a bundle, saving you 15% off the price if you ordered them separately!!
I used a Light Petal Pink Stampin' Blend to color the cake and flower, a Light Mint Macaron Stampin' Blend to color the leaves, the candle, and the word "cake," and a Light Daffodil Delight Stampin' Blend to color the candle's flame.

I cut a larger rectangle from Mint Macaron Card Stock with another Stitched Shape Rectangle Framelit and adhered the stamped piece to it.

Next, I embossed a 4" by 5-1/4" piece of Sahara Sand Card Stock with the Swirls & Curls Embossing Folder that carried over from the Holiday Catalog. I added a 1-1/2" by 5-1/4" strip of Floral Romance Specialty Designer Series Paper and then wrapped a length of Whisper White Classic Weave Ribbon around before adhering everything to a Thick Whisper White Card Stock card base.

I added the stamped image to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals. I love the soft colors of this card and the cake looks good enough to eat!!

Amazing Birthday

#stampinup   #faithfulinkspirations  What's that "they" say about good things coming in small packages? Well, Stampin' Up's Whisper White Narrow Note Cards and Envelopes are the cutest small package that good things like this sweet card come in. Take a look!

This card is 2-1/2" by 4-1/2" and packs quite a punch for a little card! We made these at the OnStage Live event. We stamped the "happy birthday" sentiment from the "Amazing Life" stamp set in Crumb Cake Ink directly onto the card.

Next, we stamped the cute birthday cake from the same set in Crumb Cake Ink and colored it with Powder Pink, Old Olive, and Daffodil Delight Stampin' Write Markers. We also stamped the sprinkles in Powder Pink Ink. Then we cut out the image with one of the Stitched Shapes Framelits. We adhered this to a Fresh Fig scalloped circle cut with one of the Layering Circles Framelits.

Next, we tied on a length of Old Olive Linen Thread (I love that stuff!) and then adhered the image to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals. We finished the card by added a few Share What You Love Artisan Pearls.

This card is the perfect size to include with a gift--even in a small package, because you know what "they" say!
