Moroccan Thanks

#stampinup   #faithfulinkspirations   The "Moroccan Nights" stamp set and Moroccan Designer Series Paper went to the top of my wish list as soon as they appeared at Stampin' Up's OnStage event (before the catalog even came out). I'm in love with this set and this gorgeous DSP!! I'm sad to see it go so soon. I pulled my old friends out for one last playtime....or maybe a second-to-last playtime.
This card is quick and easy--and you can swap out the sentiment to make it a birthday card. I might just have to make a stack of these!

I started by stamping the large medallion stamp in Marina Mist onto a 4-7/8" by 3-5/8" Very Vanilla Card Stock panel.  Then I stamped the lanterns on top of the medallion in Dapper Denim Ink.  The sentiment is from the also retiring "B.Y.O.P." set and it's also stamped in Dapper Denim.

I adhered the stamped panel to a 5-1/8" by 3-7/8" piece of Moroccan DSP and then on to a Dapper Denim Card Stock card base.

I thought the card needed a little sparkle, so I colored parts of the lanterns with Gold Wink of Stella. Yep! That's the ticket! I wish you could see how sparkly they are IRL!

Remember, the items in red are retiring at the end of May 2017.  You'll probably still be able to get the stamp sets until that time, but the tools and accessories, including DSP, are only available while supplies last. Get 'em while they're hot!

Welcome Baby Bear!

#stampinup   #faithfulinkspirations   I learned a new way to make a gift card holder at the Proverbial Stampers gathering in the fall.  I've been waiting for the perfect opportunity to use it.  Fortunately for me, there are several young women at my church who are having babies!  (Better them than me!!)

This card is super easy to make.  Start with your standard 5-1/5" by 4-1/4" half sheet of card stock.  Score it and then cut one side in half. Like this.  See?  It's simple!!

For my card, I started with a sheet of Pool Party Card Stock and cut and scored it according to the template.  Next, I cut two 4-1/8" by 2-1/4" pieces of Calypso Coral Card Stock and two 3-7/8" by 2-1/8" pieces of A Little Foxy Designer Series Paper and I adhered them to the top and bottom of the front of the card.  I stamped the "welcome, baby" sentiment from the "Badges and Banners" stamp set in Calypso Coral onto a Whisper White scrap and punched it out with the Duet Banner Punch.  The banner is adhered to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals.

I stamped the bear from the "Cookie Cutter Christmas" set in Pool Party onto a Whisper White scrap and added Early Espresso facial features.  I punched him out with the Cookie Cutter Builder Punch.  Then, I used the Layering Ovals Framelits to cut a Whisper White oval and the just larger scalloped framelit to cut out the Calypso Coral mat.  I aligned the bear's ears and stamped them onto the Whisper White oval and then adhered the bear.  Finally, I stamped the bear's bow tie in Calypso Coral onto a Calypso Coral scrap and used the Cookie Cutter Builder Punch to punch it out.  I adhered the bow with a glue dot.  I used Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the oval to just the top portion of the card--because the bottom is the gift card holder!!

I used Fast Fuse Adhesive to adhere the bottom flap to the card.  The sentiment inside is from the "B.Y.O.P." stamp set and is stamped in Basic Gray Archival ink.  Because this is a photopolymer set, I could line up two stamps on one block and see exactly where to place the sentiment!

So cute!  And so simple!  This gift card came together in no time at all!

Creation Station: Love Is in the Air

#stampinup   #faithfulinkspirations   #creationstation   Happy New Year!!  I'm excited to work with all of Stampin' Up's new goodies in the Occasions and Sale-a-Bration catalogs.  I think I've already ordered half of everthing that's in the Occasions catalog--and that means I've already earned a bunch of SAB sets! Yay, me!

You, too, can earn a SAB with every $50 you spend during Sale-a-Bration.  Contact me today for more details!!

Our theme for the January 2017 Creation Station blog hop is "Love is in the Air, Love is Everywhere!"  It's not just about Valentine's Day, which is great, because I needed to make a card for a wedding next weekend.  I wasn't sure what I was going to do for quite a while and then it just hit me.  Does that every happen to you?  Do you mull something over for a few days and then get the answer light a bolt of lightning?  It doesn't always happen that way, but I'm always pleased when it does.  And I'm super pleased that my lightning bolt turned out just like I imagined it would!!

I knew I was going to use the "Lift Me Up" bundle (item 144712) because one of the stamps says "Love is in the Air."  That was a no-brainer!  But I wanted to do something different than the many wonderful samples I've already seen.  Here's what I came up with.

I cut out the large balloon from Blushing Bride Glimmer Paper using the Up & Away Thinlits Dies.  I stamped the hearts in Versamark Ink onto Blushing Bride Card Stock and then added some Copper Stampin' Emboss Powder and used my Heat Tool to emboss them.  I also used Copper for the sentiment.  Did you notice the banner? It's one of the Up & Away Thinlits--meant to be part of a larger balloon.  I thought that was clever!  I like it so much I'm going to use it again and again!

Here's the inside of the card--it's a pop-up gift card holder! Doesn't the Falling In Love Designer Series Paper look great on a Soft Suede Mat?  The sentiment is from the "B.Y.O.P" stamp set and is stamped in Soft Suede right on the DSP.  I added another copper-embossed heart to the inside because they're so dang cute!

The finished card is 4-1/4" by 4-1/2" so I needed to make an envelope for it.  I used my Envelop Punch Board to make the envelope out of another another sheet of the Falling in Love DSP.

Instead of gluing the flaps and making an actual envelope, I just wrapped the card in the pretty paper and tied a length of Very Vanilla 1/4" Satin Ribbon so that the packaging for the gift card is a sweet little gift itself!

I hope you enjoyed my LOVEly creation this month.  Now it's time for you to hop around and see what the rest of the artists on our design team have made for you.
