Black and White Elegance

#stampinup   #faithfulinkspirations   One of my favorite swaps to participate in at Stampin' Up events is the black-and-white-only swap. There's something so elegant about a card that's just black and white. I honestly had a little trouble thinking about what I was going to create for this swap, and then, as sometimes happens, I had a bolt of inspiration hit me! I would use the Detailed Floral Thinlits! Here's how my card turned out.

And here's how to make the card. I started with a 4-1/4" by 5-1/2" Basic Black Card Stock panel and ran it through the Big Shot with the Detailed Floral Thinlits. Since I don't have the Precision Plate, I ran the thinlit through three times! Your Big Shot Brush and Foam Mat are your BFF's for this detailed thinlit. They really help getting all the shards out of the card stock and out of the framelit. I also use a special tool that I created myself--I open up a paper clip and use the end to punch out the stuck card stock pieces. (It also doubles as a toothpick--don't ask me how I know!)

I wrapped a length of Basic Black Shimmer Ribbon around the center of the die-cut and then secured it to a Thick Whisper White Card Stock card base with some strategically placed Glue Dots.

Next, I stamped a sentiment from the "Love What You Do" stamp set in Tuxedo Basic Black Ink onto Whisper White Card Stock. I cut that out with one of the Layering Circles Framelits. I also cut a scalloped Basic Black Card Stock circle from the same set of framelits. I adhered the sentiment to the scalloped circle and then used Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the sentiment piece to the card. Boom!

Tomorrow's card is my swap for the black and white and a pop of color swap! Come on back and see it!

Lovely Floral Thanks

#stampinup   #faithfulinkspirations   Today is the last of four cards I'm sharing this week from the Share What You Love Suite of products on pages 176-178 of the annual catalog. These cards have all featured the yummy Share What You Love Specialty Designer Series Paper. I just can't get enough of that stuff! This card was made by one of the members of the Proverbial Stampers & Friends group--but the artist didn't sign her name, so I can't give her credit. (If this is your card, please let me know!!)

The artist started by embossing the front of a Crumb Cake Card Stock card base with the Petal Burst Embossing Folder. Next, she adhered a 2" by 5-1/2" strip of Basic Black Card Stock across the center and layered on a 1-1/2" by 5-1/2" strip of Crumb Cake and Rich Razzleberry Share What You Love DSP.

Next, the artist stamped the flowers from the "Love What You Do" stamp set in Rich Razzleberry Ink onto Whisper White Card Stock. She used a Blender Pen (or Aqua Painter) to color in the flowers with more Rich Razzleberry Ink. She cut out this piece with an oval Stitched Shapes Framelit. She adhered it to a scalloped Basic Black Card Stock oval cut with the Layering Ovals Framelits. She adhered this piece to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals. She tied a bow in some Basic Black Baker's Twine and adhered this to the card.

Finally, she stamped "thank you" from the "Love What you Do" stamp set in Rich Razzleberry onto a 1" strip of Crumb Cake Card Stock. She embossed this piece with the Subtle Embossing Folder to give it some texture and flagged the end with the Banner Triple Punch. She adhered this banner to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals, tucking it behind the oval piece.

I love, love, love this card!! The colors are so rich and textures are delightful!

Lovely Thank You

#stampinup   #faithfulinkspirations   Today's card is another fabulous card I received at the Proverbial Stampers & Friends swap at the new catalog gathering. I just love the Share What You Love Specialty Designer Series Paper that is featured on today's card. This card was made by Rochelle Graf.
Rochelle started her card by adhering a 4" by 5-1/4" piece of the Grapefruit Grove Share What You Love DSP to a Basic Black Card Stock card base. Rochelle added a thin strip of Basic Black Card Stock across the bottom of the card to give some added interest.

Next, she stamped the "thank you" sentiment from the "Love What You Do" stamp set in Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto a 2-1/4" Whisper White square. She adhered this to a Basic Black Card Stock scalloped square that she cut with one of the Layering Squares Framelits. She adhered this piece to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals.

Rochelle used the Leaf Punch to punch three leaf sprays from Mossy Meadow Card Stock and adhered them to the card. She used her Paper Snips to fussy cut three flowers from the Share What You Love DSP and adhered them to the card with Mini Stampin' Dimensionals. For a pretty finishing touch, Rochelle added one Share What You Love Artisan Pearl to the center of each flower.

This is such a pretty card!! I think the fussy cut flowers was a genius idea, Rochelle!!

Love What You Do in Mint

#stampinup   #faithfulinkspirations   Goodness gracious! Stampin' Up's Share What You Love Suite of products on pages 176-178 of the annual catalog is gorgeous! I especially love the Share What You Love Specialty Designer Series Paper. This DSP shimmers and shines--and I love me some shimmer and shine!! I'm going to be sharing four cards that I got at the Proverbial Stampers & Friends annual catalog swap. They're just too pretty not to share. First up is this beautiful card made by Karen Warren.
Karen started by adhering a 3-3/4" by 5" piece of the Mint Macaron and Tranquil Tide Share What You Love DSP to a 3-7/8" by 5-1/8" Basic Black Card Stock mat. She adhered this to a Mint Macaron Card Stock card base.

Next, Karen added a Pearlized Doily from the suite and she cut Basic Black and Tranquil Tide medallions with the Flourish Thinlits Dies, layering them on top with Mini Stampin' Dimensionals. She popped a Silver Adhesive-Backed Rose from the Share What You Love Embellishment Kit right in the center.

Finally, Karen stamped the "love what you do" sentiment from the "Love What You Do" stamp set in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink onto a 2-1/2" by 1-1/2" Whisper White piece and then onto a 2-3/4" by 1-3/4" Basic Black mat. She adhered this to the card with regular Stampin' Dimensionals.

This card is stunning, right?!!
