Music in My Heart

#stampinup   #faithfulinkspirations  #thoughtfulThursday   I love to get swap cards! I love to see what other stampers design--it gives me such great inspiration. And I love to get cards that use products I don't have. Today's card was made by Jennifer Helm at The Faithful Stamper Facebook page. It uses the "Music From the Heart" stamp set from the January-to-June Mini Catalog and it's super cute!!
Jennifer started by stamping the sentiment in Gorgeous Grape Ink at the bottom of a Whisper White Card Stock card base. She added some cute little hearts in Flirty Flamingo Ink.

Next, she stamped the treble clef and the notes in Gorgeous Grape Ink onto a 2-1/2" by 4-3/4" Whisper White panel. She added splashes of Flirty Flamingo, Mango Melody, Garden Green, Coastal Cabana, and Highland Heather Inks behind each of these elements and then embossed the panel with the Brick & Mortar 3D Embossing Folder.

Then Jennifer adhered this piece to a 2-3/4" by 5" Basic Black Card Stock mat. She adhered this piece to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals.

I love the simplicity of this card and the thoughtful sentiment! Thanks for swapping with me, Jennifer!

You Deserve It!

#stampinup   #faithfulinkspirations   #ThoughtfulThursday   The Tropical Oasis Suite on pages 38 through 40 in the January-to-June Mini Catalog has such wonderfully vibrant, tropical colors! But this card that I received from Pam Sines during a card swap went in a different direction. And I think I love it. Pam used more muted colors and turned the card into a restful scene. And how thoughtful is it to tell someone that they should rest and relax because they deserve it?!
Pam started by embossing a 4" by 5-1/4" Balmy Blue Card Stock panel with the Eyelet Lace Embossing Folder. She adhered that to a Thick Whisper White Card Stock card base. Next, she stamped the palm trees from the "Timeless Tropical" set in Shaded Spruce and Sahara Sand Inks onto a 2-3/4" by 3-1/2" Whisper White rectangle and adhered it directly to the card.

She used Sahara Sand Ink to stamp the sentiment onto Whisper White Card Stock and punched it out with the Pretty Label Punch. She punched another pretty label from Sparkle Glimmer Paper and cut it in half, lengthwise. She adhered her stamped label to this piece and then adhered the assembled sentiment piece to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals.

For a finishing touch, Pam tied a pretty bow from Magnolia Lane Linen Ribbon and adhered it to the card with a Mini Glue Dot. So pretty and peaceful!

Moroccan Mood

#stampinup   #faithfulinkspirations   #ThoughtfulThursday  Long before HGTV was a thing, there were crafting shows on PBS. Back in the 1980s and 90s the trend was to use baby's breath in nearly every handcrafted home decor piece.  There was a older gentleman, whose name I forget, who used to say about his designs, "Well, I think this is one baby's breath over the line." I have to confess: today's card might have crossed that line. I'm not sure...

I had a wild idea to start with a beautiful Bird Ballad Laser-Cut Card and adhere a panel of the copper-flecked Pretty Peacock Brightly Gleaming Specialty Designer Series Paper to peek through the die-cuts. The end effect was that the design seemed a bit Moroccan to me--not at all a bad thing! I used Mini Glue Dots to adhere the DSP panel to the card.

Keeping with the copper theme, I stamped a sentiment from the "Daisy Lane" stamp set in Versamark Ink onto Very Vanilla Card Stock, sprinkled on some Copper Stampin' Emboss Powder, and set it with my Heat Tool. I cut this out with the smallest circle Stitched Shape Die. I cut a just-larger scalloped circle from a Copper Foil Sheet with a Layering Circle Die. I adhered these to the card with a few Stampin' Dimensionals.

I finished the card by tying a length of Copper Trim into a cute bow and adhering it to the label with another Mini Glue Dot.

What do you think? Too much, or just right?

Mosaic Thoughts

#stampinup   #faithfulinkspirations   #ThoughtfulThursday   I have a really pretty card to share with you for Thoughtful Thursday. I used the gorgeous Mosaic Mood Specialty Designer Series Paper in a special way--actually, I turned the Mosaic Mood DSP into mosaic tiles. Look at how it turned out!

I used one of the Stitched Nested Labels Dies to cut one of each of the patterns from the Mosaic Mood DSP. I arranged the "tiles" and adhered them to a 3-7/8" by 5-1/8" Very Vanilla Card Stock mat. You could use any color because it won't show on the final card. I cut off the overhanging pieces and then adhered the piece to a 4" by 5-1/4" Crush Curry Card Stock panel. I wrapped a length of Gold Metallic Edge Ribbon around before adhering everything to a Soft Suede Card Stock card base.

I stamped a sentiment from the "Good Morning Magnolia" stamp set in Soft Suede Ink onto Very Vanilla Card Stock and cut it out with the same size Stitched Nested Labels Die that I used to make the "tiles." I adhered the sentiment piece to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals.

I think this card turned out nicely--I really loved using the Mosaic Mood DSP to make "tiles." I think that's an extra special effect. And it was easy-peasy, too! Bonus!
