Love You Always: Heartfelt Valentine

#stampinup   #faithfulinkspirations   My BFF and I have been hosting a Sale-a-Bration stamp camp for almost 20 years. The last in-person stamp camp we had was in February 2019, just before the days of COVID. We bit the bullet and held our stamp camp virtually and it was a smashing success! We were really nervous because we're not the most proficient at technology--but we made it work. Our participants had a great time and they actually liked the virtual forum. Hmm...the pros were that we didn't have to worry about the weather and no one had to clean house or cook meals for the guest. The cons are the usual COVID cons--no in person interaction. Soon, though. soon.

One of the projects that I created for stamp camp was a Valentine's Day card using the "Heartfelt" stamp set from the Annual Catalog and a few items from the January to June Mini Catalog. Wanna see it? Well, OK!

I started with a 3-3/4" by 5" piece of Basic White Card Stock. I randomly stamped three different heart images from the "Heartfelt" stamp set in Blushing Bride, Rococo Rose, and Memento Tuxedo Black along the right side. I adhered this to a 4" by 5-1/4" Basic Black Card Stock mat. Then I adhered a 1-1/2" by 3-3/4" strip of True Love Designer Series Paper to the left side. I wrapped a length of Blushing Bride Metallic Ribbon (love that glitter!) around the card and then adhered it to a Blushing Bride Card Stock card base.

Next, I stamped the lacy heart image in Tuxedo Black onto Basic White and punched it out with the scalloped heart from the Heart Punch Pack. I stamped the heart "Happy Valentine's Day" sentiment in Rococo Rose and before the ink dried I sprinkled on Clear Stampin' Emboss Powder and set it with my Heat Tool. I punched that out with the other heart punch from the Heart Punch Pack. I adhered the embossed heart directly to the black scalloped heart.

I stamped the arrow from the set in Tuxedo Black onto Basic White and fussy cut it with my Paper Snips. I adhered this to the card with two mini Black Dimensionals--one on the feather side and one on the pointy side. Then I used Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the heart assembly on top.

I finished the card by added three Champagne Rhinestone Basic Jewels.

I even stamped the inside of the card! I stamped two images from the "Heartfelt" set onto a 3-3/4' by 5" Basic White Card Stock panel and then layered it onto a 4" by 5-1/4" Basic Black mat before adhering to the inside of the card.

I hope you and your sweetheart have a wonderful Valentine's Day (even if your sweetheart is your kitty)! And I'll see you back here soon with some more projects from our stamp camp! Woot!

A Heartfelt Valentine

#stampinup   #faithfulinkspirations   When my boss suggested that our work group hold a virtual morale building activity and she suggested that we could make Valentine's Day cards, I was so thrilled to help my teammates create their first hand-made card! I wanted the design to be easy so that even a beginner could make it. But you know what? That's what I love about making my own cards--they look beautiful, but they're so easy to make! My teammates all enjoyed their card making session and some of them quipped that it brought them back to their kindergarten days because the only skills they needed was the ability to use a glue stick and a pair of scissors. Here's the card we made together.

I started with a 3-7/8" by 5-1/8" Basic White Card Stock mat. Onto that I adhered a 3" by 3-1/2" floral piece of the True Love Designer Series Paper. I adhered a 1" by 3-1/2" striped piece of this DSP to either side of the floral piece and then one down the center. I adhered this to a 4" by 5-1/4" Basic Black Card Stock mat.

I wrapped a length of Real Red Double Stitched Satin Ribbon around this before adhering everything to a Real Red Card Stock card base.

Next, I stamped a the heart with the "Happy Valentine's Day" sentiment from the "Heartfelt" stamp set in Real Red Ink onto Basic White Card Stock. Before the ink dried, I quickly sprinkled on some Clear Stampin' Emboss Powder and set it with my Heat Tool. I punched this out with one of the Heart Punch Pack punches. I stamped the lacy heart image in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink onto Basic White and punched it out with the scalloped heart punch from the Heart Punch Pack. I punched one scalloped heart from Basic Black Card Stock and one from Vellum Card Stock. I punched a Real Red Card Stock heart, as well.

I used Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the stamped heart to the stamped scallop heart and then onto the card front. I adhered the Real Red heart directly to the velum piece and I adhered the black heart and the red/vellum heart to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals.

I stamped the arrow in Tuxedo Black onto Basic White and fussy cut it with my Paper Snips. I adhered the pointed end and the feather end to the card using Mini Black Stampin' Dimensionals.

To finish the card I added three red Resin Hearts. Isn't that a sweet card? Come back tomorrow for another Valentine!

Valentine's Day Treat Box Tutorial

Valentine's Day Treat Box

1. Start with a 4-1/2" by 6" piece of Basic White Card Stock. Stamp your images. On the sample I used the "Heartfelt" stamp set and Flirty Flamingo, Real Red, and Memento Tuxedo Black Inks.

2. On the 4-1/2" end, score at 1", 2", 3", and 4". Rotate one turn and score at 1".

3. Use one of the Stitched Rectangles Dies to cut a window out of the middle as shown. Adhere a velum "window" to the inside of the box. Cut the tabs as shown; bevel if desired. Ad a strip of Tear & Tape to the 1/2" strip.

4. Use a bone folder to crease the score lines and then form your box, bringing the left side over the top of the thin strip with the Tear & Tape and seal.

5. With the window facing toward you, fold in the bottom side flaps, then the back flap, and then fold the front flap toward the back and seal with a Mini Glue Dot.
6. Fill a 1" by 6" cello bag with candy, leaving some head room. Tie the top with Baker's Twine. Insert bag into the treat box. You may need to rearrange the candy so that the cello bag fits nicely.

7. With the window facing toward you, push the sides of the top of the box in toward the center and pinch the top of the box closed.

8. Seal the box closed. You can staple it or use Mini Glue Dots or Stampin' Dimensionals.

9. Score a 1" by 2" piece of Real Red Card Stock at 1". Adhere to the top of the box.

10. Tie a bow in coordinating ribbon and adhere to the box with a Mini Glue Dot.
