Happy Birthday BFF (don't look if you don't want to spoil your surprise)

#stampinup   My BFF's birthday is this week. She's the person who got me into stamping--and just about any other creative thing I've ever done. I'm always a little bit intimidated when I make a card for her because her own work is so amazing. You can check her work out on the Splitcoaststampers members gallery under her name lbirus.

I decided I'd use the colors in this week's color challenge at the Create with Connie and Mary challenge blog.

I haven't used So Saffron in a long time, so I'm glad to see it on the challenge. I started with a So Saffron card base and added a Night of Navy mat. I stamped various elements from the "Awesomely Artistic" stamp set onto a Whisper White panel. I really like this stamp set because there are so many different and eclectic elements that can be used for a stamping collage. The splatters are done in Delightful Dijon; the washi tape stamp is done in So Saffron. I added a sentiment from the "Tin of Cards" set in Night of Navy.

I stamped the dragonfly in Delightful Dijon onto a Whisper White scrap and fussy cut it with my Paper Snips. I finished the card by adding a couple of strands of Linen Thread and three So Saffron Candy Dots.
