Creation Station: Celebrate the Season

#stampinup   #creationstation   #faithfulinkspirations   Welcome to the December 2018 Creation Station blog hop! This month, we're pulling out all the stops to celebrate the season. Our design team is from every corner of the globe, so you'll be seeing seasonal creations from all over the world!

I've made a really fun, interactive card for my project. I've been wanting to try a pivot card for a long time and I thought it would be fun to use the Santa's Workshop Specialty Designer Series Paper. I love that DSP so much!! Let's take a look at the finished product.
One of our design team members, Elizabeth Price, created some wonderful cards a while back and "wrapped" them like a present. I thought I'd give that idea a whirl! I "wrapped my card with a 4-1/2" by 11" sheet of the Poppy Parade striped DSP. I love that the Whisper White part of the DSP is flocked! I "wrapped" a 2" by 11" DSP belly band around the center and secured it in the back. Then "wrapped" 24" of Poppy Parade Textured Weave Ribbon around and tied it into a big bow. I used 12" of Whisper White Polka Dot Tulle to add the gift tag, tying that into a bow, too.
For the tag, I started with a 2" by 3" piece of Whisper White Card Stock and punched the top with the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch. I used the Envelope Punch Board to round the corners. I stamped the image in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and colored the stripes with Poppy Parade Ink, using a Blender Pen. I used Dark and Light Crumb Cake Stampin' Blends to color the sign and Dark and Light Daffodil Delight Stampin' Blends to color the light at the top of the Pole. I added the "official seal of the North Pool" stamp in Poppy Parade Ink.

As pretty as the outside of the card is, it's the inside that's the wow factor. Take a look

Gosh! This turned out so cute! (It took a couple of tries to get it, right, but you can take a look at my tutorial in the banner above to get some tips.) I added a 1/2" by 4-1/4" strip of the same DSP at the top and bottom of the inside of the card. Then I stamped Santa from the "Signs of Santa" stamp set in Tuxedo Memento Ink and colored his suit with Poppy Parade Ink and a Blender Pen. I colored his face with the Ivory Stampin' Blend and added some rosy cheeks and a rosy nose with a Light Lovely Lipstick Stampin' Blend. I added the sentiment in Poppy Parade Ink.

For the pivot part of the card, I cut four 2" squares from the same DSP I used on the belly band. I cut four Whisper White Card Stock squares with one of the Stitched Shapes Framelits. I adhered these to the four parts of the pivot.  I cut the elves, wagon, gifts, and Mrs. Santa from the Santa's Workshop DSP with their matching Santa's Signposts Framelits Dies. I adhered them to the card with Mini and regular Stampin' Dimensionals.

To finish the card, I added some Santa's Workshop Enamel Shapes to the panels with the elves--so cute!!

And just for you, dear Creation Station fans, I made my first-ever video for my blog, so you can see the pivot in action.

With that, it's time for you to get hopping to the next blog, hosted by the amazing Mikaela Titheridge who was just named to Stampin' Up's 2019 Artisan Design Team! I can't wait to see Mikaela's project--I'm sure you'll be dazzled and amazed! Remember, every time you leave a blog comment, an angel gets its wings, or something like that.

May you have a wonderful Christmas and a very happy new year. See you in 2019!!
