Pretty Birthday

#stampinup   #faithfulinkspirations   I'm getting ready to hold my second Coffee & Cards Zoom session tomorrow morning. It went really well last week and my remote participants really enjoyed it. I'm planning something for June, so stay tuned for that!

We're using the "Itty Bitty Birthdays" stamp set for all four cards, but I've designed cards that are completely different in style. Tomorrow's card uses the sweet Best Dressed 6" by 6" Designer Series Paper (retiring) from the January to June mini catalog. I love this DSP so much! Have a look.

I started by embossing a 4" by 5-1/4" panel of Mint Macaron Card Stock with the Subtle Embossing Folder. I adhered this to a Pretty Peacock Card Stock card base. Next, I adhered a 2" by 5-1/4" strip of Best Dressed DSP to a 2-1/4" by 5-1/4" strip of Pretty Peacock Card Stock. I wrapped a length of Petal Pink Organdy Striped Ribbon around this piece before adhering it to the card front.

I stamped a sentiment from the "Itty Bitty Birthdays" stamp set in Pretty Peacock Ink onto Petal Pink Card Stock and punched it out with the Pretty Label Punch (retiring). I cut a circle from Pretty Peacock Card Stock with the smallest circle die from the Stitched Shapes Dies. I adhered the Petal Pink label to the Pretty Peacock circle and adhered this piece to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals.

Next, I fussy cut two of the perfume bottles from another piece of the Best Dressed DSP and adhered them to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals. For a finishing touch, I added three Pretty Peacock-colored Noble Peacock Rhinestones (retiring).

Remember, the retiring product will be gone after June 2nd, but the embellishments are only available while supplies last. So, if you need these products, get them before they're gone forever!

Stay safe! Stay healthy!

Coffee & Cards

#stampinup   #faithfulinkspirations   With everyone being under "stay at home" orders here in Maryland, it's impossible to get together to stamp. That's a shame because one of the best things about this stamping hobby is getting together with friends to create! We've all had to do some outside the box thinking and, thanks to an idea I copied from Julie Kettlewell in the UK, I decided to try a "coffee and cards" session over Zoom. I designed four cards using the "Itty Bitty Birthdays" stamp set and sent out card kits to my friends. We had our first session on Saturday and it was so much fun! Here's the first card we made together.
I started by cutting the smallest circle in the Stitched Shapes Dies from the center of a 4" by 5-1/4" piece of Old Olive Card Stock. I adhered a 3-3/4" by 5" piece of Peaceful Poppies Designer Series Paper (retiring) to the Old Olive mat. Then I adhered a 1" by 3-3/4" striped piece of Peaceful Poppies DSP on top and wrapped a length of 1/4" Whisper White Crinkled Seam Binding around before adhering to a Poppy Parade Card Stock card base.

Next, I stamped a sentiment from the "Itty Bitty Birthdays" stamp set in Poppy Parade Ink onto a Whisper White scrap and punched it out with the Pretty Label Punch (retiring). I adhered this to the Old Olive stitched circle and then used Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the label assembly to the card.

For a finishing touch, I glued three Peaceful Poppies Sequins
(retiring) to the label. So pretty!

My virtual guests really liked this card and we're all looking forward to next week's session. If you'd like to make this, all the supplies are listed below. Just click on a thumbnail to get started shopping in my online store. Remember: the retiring products are only available while supplies last and only until June 2nd when they'll be gone for good!

Mystery Card

#stampinup   #faithfulinkspirations   How is it Tuesday already? It's becoming harder and harder to keep track of time. My sleep cycle is topsy-turvy, too. I'm staying up way too late and getting out of bed way too late. But whatever. Time has no meaning right now.

I've crossed a lot of things off my at-home to-do list. You know, that list we all have that we'll take care of when we have time. Well, I've got nothing but time, but I'm trying to spread out my tasks to last for a while. Plus, with all the organizing I'm doing, I don't have anywhere to store all the stuff I need to get rid of. Man! When those thrift stores open, I'll be they're going to be inundated!

I've always said that when I retire, I'm going to stamp all day. That isn't really happening. I think it's because this isn't retirement. This is something else. Something unexpected. I worry that my retired self is going to be this stay-up-too-late-sleep-too-much person. But I don't think that will happen. Now, I can't get out and do anything. When I'm retired, I'll be able to go out and do volunteer work and I'll make a schedule. We'll see.

In the meantime, here's a fun stamping activity for you. My upline Stampin' Up leader, Connie Heisey, hosted a team meeting on Zoom and she asked us to create a card using these mystery "ingredients."

Piece of card stock:
5 1/2 x 8 1/2

Piece of DSP: 2 x 5 3/8

Piece of card stock:
4 x 5 1/4

Piece of card stock:
3 1/4 x 4 1/4

Piece of card stock:
3 x 4

Punch, Sentiment,
8 inches of ribbon

I used Basic Black, Whisper White, Calypso Coral, Bermuda Bay, and Daffodil Delight Card Stock. The Designer Series Paper is Birthday Bonanza. The ribbon is Basic Black Glittered Organdy Ribbon. And the punch is the Everyday Label Punch. PROTIP: Notice how I stamped and punched from the middle of the Whisper White piece? I love to save paper that way!

The sentiment is from the "Itty Bitty Birthdays" stamp set and is stamped in Bermuda Bay Ink.

Here's my finished project.

That was a fun challenge. What will you come up with?

Awesome at Any Age!

#stampinup   #faithfulinkspirations   I "attended" my Stampin' Up upline's group meeting last night via Zoom. These are interesting times we're living through. I've Zoomed more than I ever knew was possible! We had the usual stamping demonstrations, business presentations, make-and-takes (mailed to us), and giveaways. And we had a "virtual" swap. We each made cards and shared them over the Zoom meeting. I'm so thankful for technology--we can still get together virtually while we're quarantining at home!

I used the totally adorable Birthday Bonanza Designer Series Paper for my card. You can find the Birthday Bonanza suite on pages 32-34 of the January-to-June Mini catalog.
I cut three squares from the DSP using one of the square Stitched Shapes Dies--I was careful to center a different animal in each piece. Then I used a Layering Squares Die to cut a scalloped square from the same sheet of DSP, using the Bermuda Bay pattern on the back. I adhered the animal squares to the Bermuda Bay DSP squares. Then I fussy cut the toucan, koala, and lion and popped them onto the center of the squares with a Mini Dimensional.

Next, I used my Stamparatus to align a sentiment from the "Itty Bitty Birthdays" stamp set and stamped it in Bermuda Bay Ink onto a 3-7/8" by 4-1/8" Whisper White Card Stock Panel. I adhered this to a 4" by 4-1/4" Basic Black Card Stock mat and then wrapped a length of Basic Black Glittered Organdy Ribbon around. I adhered this to a Bermuda Bay Card Stock Card base.

I adhered the animal squares to the card with regular Stampin' Dimensionals. Then I added three Coastal Cabana Glitter Enamel Dots to finish the card. Super cute!

Stay healthy! Stay safe! Stay home!
