I'm Bringing Back August Birthdays

#stampinup   #faithfulinkspirations   I've gathered a batch of birthday cards for my August birthday peeps. Is your card here?

If you're name is Lilly, your card is definitely in this pile. I'm so pleased with the way this card turned out--and it was easy-peasy to make!

I started by stamping the rectangles from the "Layering Letters Alphabet" stamp set in Mint Macaron, Daffodil Delight, Pink Pirouette, Wisteria Wonder, and Pool Party.  Then I stamped the letters on top of the rectangles in Versamark Ink, sprinkled on some White Stampin' Emboss Powder, and used my Heat Tool to set the letters. Then I fussy cut each letter using my Paper Snips.

Next, I embossed a Pool Party Panel with the Large Polka Dot Embossing Folder. I tied a length of Whisper White Thick Baker's Twine around the panel before adhering it to a Thick Whisper White Card Base.

I stamped a sentiment from the "B.Y.O.P." stamp set in Wisteria Wonder onto a Whisper White scrap and fussy cut the banner with my Paper Snips. I arranged all the elements onto the cards like this.

I'm so pleased with how this card turned out. I think it's a really cute card for a little girl!

Welcome Baby Gift Card Holder

#stampinup   #saleabration2016   A new baby is a great reason to celebration. A sweet couple from my church is expecting their first child in March. I wanted to make a holder for the gift card I purchased, so I searched Pinterest for some ideas. We all do that, right?! I saw a gift card holder with a belly band and decided that's what I'd make!

The couple is having a boy and I found that the Sale-a-Bration Wildflower Fields Designer Series Paper has a nice, striped Island Indigo, Old Olive and other boyish colors sheet. I started with a 6"x6" piece of the DSP and, using my Envelope Punch board, made a 3"x4" envelope--a perfect fit for the gift card!

Next, I cut a 1-1/2"x9-1/2" strip of Island Indigo Card Stock and used my Simply Scored Board to score it at 2" and 6-3/8". I secured the ends together with a couple of strips of Fast Fuse Adhesive.

Then, I stamped three circles from the "Layered Letters Alphabet" set in Pear Pizzazz onto a Whisper White scrap. I stamped the word "baby" in Lost Lagoon atop these circles. I cut this out with one of the ovals from the Ovals Collection Framelits.

I folded a Tea Lace Paper Doily to form an oval. Here's a pic of how I did it--I wasn't sure it would work, but it was perfect!! (I punched the hole in the middle of the doily for another project that I'd abandoned earlier. You don't need to punch the center hole.)

I adhered the doily to the belly band with Snail Adhesive and the oval to the doily with Stampin' Dimensionals. Then I threaded a Vintage Faceted Designer Button with Whisper White Baker's Twine and tied a knot. I adhered the button to the label with Glue Dots. Here's the completed project, closed and opened.

The gift card really does fit in sideways. I just propped it up so you can see that it's a gift card. Ha!

Front Page Baby

#stampinup   #creativecrew   My third project for the Splitcoaststampers October Creative Crew Challenge is a scrapbook page. We were given a sketch and we were to make a "front page" article out of our story. Since my kids are my world, my story starts with my first-born, who's 21 now!!

Making a scrapbook page is a bit of a challenge for me...thank goodness for Project Life by Stampin' Up! For this layout, I cut two 3" x 4" pieces of Typeset Designer Series Paper and stamped "EXTRA!" on them in Real Red with the "Layered Letters Alphabet" stamp set.

Next, I cut a 3" x 4" piece of Very Vanilla card stock and stamped my son's birthday and the wreath from the "Hello Baby" stamp set in Basic Black Archival Ink. Not only do the photopolymer stamps let you see exactly where you're placing them, but this set allows you to line up all the elements on one block. Yay!

The hardest part of this layout was finding a photo of my son. I have all the photos in several boxes in my junk treasured memorabilia closet. Once I found a suitable picture, I had to figure out how to print the picture in sepia tone to match the Very Vanilla elements. I finally figured it out! Isn't my baby a cutie-patootie??!!

I also added a little heart punched from Red Glimmer Paper with the heart punch from the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack.

Creation Station: New Catalog Products

#stampinup

It's time for a new Stampin' Up! catalog and time for a trip around the Creation Station blog hop. The design team is showing off all their new products from the new catalog and our theme is Father's Day.

I have to start off this post with an admission:  I apparently did not order enough from the new catalog with my preview order. I got ALL the new ink pads, reinkers, card stock, markers, and a package of the new Bohemian Designer Series Paper. I got the Banner Triple Punch (which is fabulous) and two stamp sets: "I Think You're Great" and "Layered Letters Alphabet." A good start, but certainly not enough stuff (which is why I'm a Stampin' Up demonstrator--I want it ALL!!!)

So, I'm making do with what I have--and it's all good.

My first project is a Father's Day card. I started with some 1/2" strips of the Bohemian Designer Series Paper and flagged the ends with the Banner Punch. I adhered the strips to a scrap of cardstock, so they wouldn't move around.

Next, I cut a 1" strip of Very Vanilla card stock. I used the Banner Triple Punch to flag the end and then I stamped the sentiment from "And Many More" in Soft Suede. I adhered this to the flag piece and added an Antique Brad.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" (approx.) piece of Delightful Dijon and stamped the "Hardwood" background stamp in Soft Suede. I added a Rich Razzleberry mat behind the Delightful Dijon piece and adhered everything to an Island Indigo card base. For some reason, the card feels "cowboy" to me.

Next, I thought I'd use the fun new alphabet set "Layered Letters Alphabet" that everyone got on the pre-order. Man! It was hard coming up with something different than everyone else. My card is still derivative, but I think it's got a bit of uniqueness.

I had some leftover Bohemian DSP flags, so that set my color scheme. When I went to my card stock stash, I found a lengthwise pre-cut piece of Rich Razzleberry....and it had a panel of Basic Gray already attached.  Hookay...I can work with that. (Too lazy to cut another piece...)

I cut a Whisper White panel and stamped the word "happy" slightly off-set because I knew the banners would hang down. I used one block for the H-A-P; cleaned the stamps; and then used the block for the P-Y. It's so nice to be able to see through the photopolymer stamps. The sentiment is stamped in Rich Razzleberry ink and the rectangles are stamped in Smoky Slate.

I wanted the card to say "Happy for You" because I'll probably use this as a graduation card and I pulled out the "Work of Art" stamp set only to realize that the stamps in that set said "just for" and "you." Ugh. But, a happy surprise--the "For All Things" stamp set has a stamp that says "grateful for you." So I used a Rich Razzleberry marker to color just the "for you" part of the stamp and, eureka!!

I thought I was finished until I noticed a tiny bit of smutz at the top of the sentiment. It wasn't ink. IDK what it was. So I hid the smutz with a few gold sequins...and added a gold sequin streamer to the banners. I love happy accidents!!

You can continue hopping around the blog by using the "next" and "back" buttons. I know our Creation Station design team have some wonderful projects for you!
