Tropical Goodness

#stampinup   #faithfulinkspirations   #ProtipTuesday   Today's card was made by one of my team members, Teresa Murbach. She created it for the Proverbial Stampers & Friends card swap and I think it's adorable. I love the bold colors and design. And Teresa used a technique that I'm happy to share with you because today is Protip Tuesday!

PROTIP: I like to call this technique "make your own designer series paper background."  Teresa started with a full sheet of Whisper White Card Stock. She used the various stamps in the "Tropical Chic" stamp set and stamped them in Petal Pink, Flirty Flamingo, Granny Apple Green, Shaded Spruce, and Basic Gray all over the entire sheet of card stock. Then she cut the sheet down to 3-3/4" by 5" pieces for her card.

Teresa adhered her "DSP" to a 4" by 5-1/4" Petal Pink Card Stock mat. (Another PROTIP that I've shared with you previously is to cut the scalloped circle piece from the middle of the mat, saving  you some card stock!) Teresa wrapped a length of retired ribbon around her card--but you could use the gorgeous Petal Pink Organdy Striped Ribbon that's current!

Next, she stamped a flower in Petal Pink Ink  and a palm leaf in Granny Apple Green onto Whisper White Card Stock and cut them out with the coordinating Tropic Dies. She stamped a sentiment from the set in Shaded Spruce onto Whisper White and cut it out with a Layering Circles Die. She adhered this to a scalloped Granny Apple Green circle cut with another of the Layering Circles Dies and finally onto a Petal Pink scalloped circle. She adhered this piece and the die-cut elements to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals. So cute!

A Chic Thank You

#stampinup   #faithfulinkspirations   #OnStage2019   #OnStageTelford2019   Today's card is another fabulous card that I received during the "fancy card" swap at Stampin' Up's OnStage event in Telford, England, last month. It was made by Michelle Bryant, from Norwich, UK. Michelle's blog is Crafty Papers. Go visit and see what wonderful creations she has to inspire you!

Michelle also used the Tropical Chic Suite of products for her card. She made it even fancier by making an extended center fold card. Take a look!
Since Michelle's card is a UK size, my US dimensions might be off a bit. She started with a half sheet of Fresh Fig Card Stock (retiring) and scored it at 4" and 8-1/4". She cut two 4" slits, 1" from the top of the card and 1" from either side of the card. She scored these at the top of the slit and 1" from the slit--these make the card stand up.

Michelle layered a 3" by 3-1/2" Powder Pink Card Stock (retiring) mat on the front of the card. On top of that, she layered a 2-7/8" by 3-3/8" Whisper White panel that she cut with one of the Tropical Dies.

Next, she stamped the flowers from the "Tropic Chic" stamp set in Powder Pink Ink (retiring) onto Whisper White, adding accents with a Fresh Fig Stampin' Write Marker (retiring). She stamped some leaves in Old Olive Ink and used the rock and roll technique to add Mossy Meadow accents. She also stamped a palm front in Sahara Sand Ink and added Fresh Fig accents. She cut all these out with the Tropical Dies. (PROTIP: The "Tropical Chic" stamp set and Tropical Dies are available in a bundle until June 3rd, saving you 10% off purchasing them separately. They will be in the new catalog, but they will not be bundled.)

Michelle layered the die cuts onto the card using Stampin' Dimensionals. She added a Rhinestone in the center of the flowers.

Finally, she stamped a sentiment from the "Tropical Chic" stamp set in Fresh Fig onto a 1" by 5-1/2" Whisper White strip and adhered this to a 1-1/8" by 5-1/2" Sahara Sand strip, before adhering it to the card. This strip serves to brace the folded section, so the card stands up.

What a brilliant card! I'm so happy to have swapped with Michelle!

Chic Birthday

#stampinup   #faithfulinkspirations   #OnStage2019   #OnStageTelford2019   There's nothing I like better than clean and simple card that pops with color. I received this beautiful card during a "fancy card" swap at Stampin' Up's OnStage event in Telford, England, last month. It was made by Eimear Carvill from Swindon, UK. She's originally from Ireland. You can visit her blog here: www.stampincolour.com and you should because she's got some wonderfully inspiring creations there for you!
Eimear brayered Melon Mambo and Gorgeous Grape Inks onto Whisper White Card Stock and then cut out the "happy" with the Happy Birthday Thinlits Die (retiring). She stamped "birthday" from the "Itty Bitty Birthdays" set in Granny Apple Green Ink onto a Whisper White circle that she cut with a Stitched Shapes Die. She adhered the die-cut "happy" onto this circle and cut the side off for a cute effect.

Next, Eimear stamped the flower from the "Tropical Chic" stamp set in Melon Mambo Ink and sponged Gorgeous Grape on the edges. She stamped a leaf from the same set in Granny Apple Green and sponged its edges with Shaded Spruce Ink. She cut both these elements out with the matching Tropical Thinlits. (PROTIP: You can purchase the "Tropical Chic" stamp set and Tropical Thinlits in a bundle and save 10% off from purchasing them separately--but only until June 3rd. These items will be carrying over to the new catalog but the bundle won't.) Eimear also used the Tropical Thinlits to cut a palm frond from a Silver Fold Sheet.

To assemble the card, Eimear started with a Thick Whisper White Card Stock card base, cut lengthwise. She layered on a 4" by 5-1/4" Whisper White Card Stock panel that she had embossed with the Subtle Embossing Folder. She added some Silver Metallic Thread and then adhered the circle piece to the card, using Stampin' Dimensionals. She layered on the die-cut elements and finished the card with the pretty Glitter Enamel Dots.

What a lovely card! I'm so glad I got to swap with Eimear!!
