Something Old Is New Again

#stampinup   #faithfulinkspirations   #christmas   #christmascards   It makes me so happy when a holiday set carries over into the new catalog. That means I can love on it for another year! One of my favorite sets from last year's holiday mini carried over to the Annual Catalog and that is "Perfectly Plaid." I knew I wanted to use it again this year for one of my Christmas card making sessions, but I knew I needed to freshen it up--so adding some new In Color was just the ticket!

My first try on this card was to make it with my old standby green, Old Olive. And while that was nice, I wanted a fresher look so I switched to a 2020-2022 In Color, Just Jade. It's amazing how a little change of color can freshen up a look.

I started with a 3-3/4" by 5" Whisper White Card Stock panel and stamped Seaside Spray "snowflakes" from the "Christmas Gleaming" stamp set (another returning fave) randomly all over. I adhered this panel to a 4" by 5-1/4" Just Jade Card Stock panel and then onto a Seaside Spray Card Stock card base.

Next, I stamped the pine trees in Just Jade Ink onto Whisper White Card Stock. One tree is stamped full strength, two trees are stamped off once. I punched these out with the coordinating Pine Tree Punch and then I stamped the trunks in Early Espresso Ink. PROTIP: Stamping the trunks after punching the trees helps you line up the trunks better.

I stamped a sentiment in Just Jade Ink onto Whisper White Card Stock and cut it out with one of the Tasteful Labels Dies. I adhered the sentiment and the trees to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals. I gave the trees a bit of glimmer by brushing on some Wink of Stella.

To finish the card I added 5 Just Jade Snowflake Adhesive-Back Embellishments--another fresh idea from the current Mini Catalog!

Stay healthy! Stay safe!

Joyously Pink

#stampinup   #faithfulinkspirations   I have to say, I kinda like Christmas cards in non-traditional colors. I try to add some blues into the mix of cards I make for the season. But I never think of this color palette. We made this card at the Proverbial Stampers & Friends Christmas gathering and it's based on a design by the fabulous Mary Fish. Take a look!

We started by stamping the plaid tree from the "Perfectly Plaid" stamp set in Basic Gray Ink onto Whisper White Card Stock. We punched it out with the matching Pine Tree Punch.

Next, we embossed a 3-3/4" by 5" piece of Basic Gray Card Stock with the Subtle Embossing Folder and adhered it to a 4" by 5-1/4" Lovely Lipstick Card Stock mat. We adhered that to a Thick Whisper White Card Stock Card Base, cut lengthwise. We adhered a 2-1/2" by 3-1/2" Lovely Lipstick piece of 2018-2020 In Color 6" by 6" Designer Series Paper to the card.

We cut a Stitched Nested Label from Whisper White Card Stock and stamped the sentiment from the "Itty Bitty Christmas" set in Basic Gray Ink. We punched Vellum Card Stock leaves with the Sprig Punch and adhered them to the back of the stitched label. We adhered the label to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals.

To finish the card, we adhered the tree to the label with Stampin' Dimensionals. Then we threaded some Whisper White Baker's Twine through a 2018-2020 In Color Lovely Lipstick Button, tied it in a knot, trimmed the ends, and adhered the button to the tree with a couple of Mini Glue Dots.

I just love this color combination, don't you?!

Christmas Thoughts

#stampinup   #faithfulinkspirations   Have I mentioned how much I love the "Perfectly Plaid" stamp set? Well, I do! I also love the coordinating Wrapped in Plaid Designer Series Paper. But on this card. I went in a little different direction--it's still plaid, but the plaid comes from the lovely Toile Tidings Designer Series Paper. Not only does this DSP have stunning toile designs in Garden Green and Real Red, but there are sheets with stripes and plaid patterns, too. Yay! Look at this sweet card!
I started with a Thick Very Vanilla Card Stock card base. I used the Subtle Embossing Folder to emboss a 4" by 5-1/4" piece of Garden Green Card Stock. I adhered a 2" by 4" piece of Garden Green plaid Toile Tidings DSP to the Garden Green piece and tied on a length of Gold Metallic-Edge Ribbon. Then I adhered everything to the card base.

Next, I stamped the plaid tree from the "Perfectly Plaid" stamp set in Garden Green Ink onto Very Vanilla Card Stock and punched it out with the Pine Tree Punch.

I cut a Very Vanilla Label using one of the Stitched Nested Labels Dies. I stamped a sentiment from the "Itty Bitty Christmas" stamp set in Garden Green Ink onto the end of the label. I adhered the label to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals.

Finally, I adhered the tree to the label with Stampin' Dimensionals and topped it with a Star Designer Element.

This card is so warm and cozy, don't you think? You could whip out a stack of them in no time. To purchase your supplies, click on the thumbnails below and start shopping!

OIh Happy December Day!

#stampinup   #faithfulinkspirations   Well, well, well. Look who's back in the blogosphere. I've been absent for quite a while. I have loads of excuses. . .

. . .first there was a three week work trip to
Seoul, South Korea. . .

 . . .where I ate some awesome Korean barbecue. . .

. . . (and probably drank too much soju).  . .

definitely NOT soju

And then there was the lost week where I was just trying to adjust to another time zone. . .

And then I went to Stampin' Up's OnStage Local event in Hartford, Comnecticut, with two of my team members. . .

. . .And then there was Thanksgiving. . .

So I've been a little busy.

But I'm back and I have three weeks of Christmas cards planned for you and then I'm going to take the rest of the year off. I need to recharge my creative batteries and then I'll be back with some awesome projects from the new Spring Mini Catalog (formerly known as the Occasions catalog) and the new Sale-a-Bration catalog!

How about a card? OK! I have one for you. Take a look!

I absolutely LOVE the Toile Tidings Designer Series Paper. I cut a 2" by 3-3/4" strip and adhered it to a 3-3/4" by 5" Real Red Card Stock panel and then adhered that to a 4" by 5-1/4" Crumb Cake mat. I stamped the sentiment in Real Red Ink on the end of the tag. and then I adhered everything to a Thick Very Vanilla Card Stock card base.

Next, I stamped a Garden Green Christmas tree from the "Perfectly Plaid" stamp set onto Very Vanilla Card Stock and punched it out with the Pine Tree Punch. You can get this stamp set and punch in a bundle and save 10% off the individual item purchase price.

I used Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the tree to a Crumb Cake tag that I made with the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch. I slipped a length of Burlap Trim through the top of the tag and tied it on with a length of Real Red 3/8" Cotton Ribbon. I adhered the tag to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals.

For a finishing touch, I added three gold Metallic Pearls for some bling--'cause I love me some bling!

Come on back tomorrow for another Christmas card to inspire your creativity!
