Something Old Is New Again

#stampinup   #faithfulinkspirations   #christmas   #christmascards   It makes me so happy when a holiday set carries over into the new catalog. That means I can love on it for another year! One of my favorite sets from last year's holiday mini carried over to the Annual Catalog and that is "Perfectly Plaid." I knew I wanted to use it again this year for one of my Christmas card making sessions, but I knew I needed to freshen it up--so adding some new In Color was just the ticket!

My first try on this card was to make it with my old standby green, Old Olive. And while that was nice, I wanted a fresher look so I switched to a 2020-2022 In Color, Just Jade. It's amazing how a little change of color can freshen up a look.

I started with a 3-3/4" by 5" Whisper White Card Stock panel and stamped Seaside Spray "snowflakes" from the "Christmas Gleaming" stamp set (another returning fave) randomly all over. I adhered this panel to a 4" by 5-1/4" Just Jade Card Stock panel and then onto a Seaside Spray Card Stock card base.

Next, I stamped the pine trees in Just Jade Ink onto Whisper White Card Stock. One tree is stamped full strength, two trees are stamped off once. I punched these out with the coordinating Pine Tree Punch and then I stamped the trunks in Early Espresso Ink. PROTIP: Stamping the trunks after punching the trees helps you line up the trunks better.

I stamped a sentiment in Just Jade Ink onto Whisper White Card Stock and cut it out with one of the Tasteful Labels Dies. I adhered the sentiment and the trees to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals. I gave the trees a bit of glimmer by brushing on some Wink of Stella.

To finish the card I added 5 Just Jade Snowflake Adhesive-Back Embellishments--another fresh idea from the current Mini Catalog!

Stay healthy! Stay safe!

Jolly Season

#stampinup   #faithfulinkspirations   I love the Brightly Gleaming Suite in on pages 30 through 32 of the holiday catalog. The colors are gorgeous together: Pretty Peacock, Mossy Meadow, Night of Navy, and Very Vanilla with Copper Foil Accents. We made this fun card at the Proverbial Stamper & Friends holiday catalog gathering. I loved it so much that I used it as one of the cards we made at my Christmas card stamp-a-stack sessions. It looks hard, but it's easy-peasy to make!
Start with a Night of Navy Card Stock card base, cut lengthwise. Score it a 5-1/2" inches, as usual, but then cut off one side so that you end up with a 2" flap. Cut a 4-1/4" by 2" piece from the remaining piece--that will be the bottom of your card front. I adhered a 1-3/4" by 4" strip of Brightly Gleaming Specialty Designer Series Paper to the top flap of the card and onto what will be the bottom piece.

Next, I stamped a sentiment from the "Christmas Gleaming" stamp set in Pretty Peacock Ink onto the corner of a 2-3/4" by 3-1/2" Very Vanilla Card Stock panel. I adhered this to a 3" by 3-3/4" Pretty Peacock Card Stock mat. I aligned the loose piece at the bottom of the card and adhered the stamped panel to the top and bottom of the card with Stampin' Dimensionals, making a "bridge."

I stamped the larger ornament from the "Christmas Gleaming" set in Pretty Peacock Ink and the smaller ornament in Night of Navy Ink onto Very Vanilla Cardstock. I punched these out with the matching Gleaming Ornaments Punch Pack and adhered them to the panel with Stampin' Dimensionals. I punched two Copper Foil leaves with the Leaf Punch and tucked them behind the ornaments, adhering them with a little bit of Snail Adhesive.

To finish the card, I added a 4" by 5-1/4" Very Vanilla panel inside the card, which you can see peeking out the sides, behind the sentiment "bridge."

You can get the "Christmas Gleaming" stamp set and the Gleaming Ornaments Punch Pack in a bundle, saving 10% off the price of purchasing them separately. Better yet, you can get everything in the Brightly Gleaming Suite with one item number (153467), and still get your 10% discount on the bundle!

Have a great weekend! I'll see you again on Monday for my final week of Christmas designs!

Happy Little Blue Bird

#stampinup   #faithfulinkspirations   I received the cutest card from one of my sideline teammates, Dori Schneider. Dori is such a fun person and her papercrafting style is amazing! She and her stamping friend, Barbara Reed, host a Facebook Live session at 8:45 EST on Wednesday evenings. They're hysterical. You should check them out.

Before you do, you should check out this card that Dori sent me! She used the "Birds of a Feather" stamp set and the Let It Snow Specialty Designer Series Paper. They're still available in the holiday catalog--but they'll be retiring soon so get them while you can!

Dori started with a Real Red Card Stock card base and added a 4" by 5-1/4" Whisper White mat. She adhered a 3" by 4" piece of Let It Snow Specialty DSP to a 3-1/4" by 4-1/4"piece of Coastal Cabana Card Stock and then onto the card.

Next, Dori stamped the cute little Christmas birdie from the "Birds of a Feather" stamp set in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink onto Whisper White Card Stock. She colored him with Light and Dark Pool Party, Real Red, and Light Daffodil Delight Stampin' Blends. She cut this out with a circle Stitched Shape Die. Dori adhered his to a scalloped Real Red circle that she cut with one of the Layering Circles Dies. She adhered this to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals. She stamped a sentiment from the "Birds of a Feather" stamp set in Real Red Ink onto Whisper White Card Stock, punched it out with the 1" Circle Punch, and adhered it to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals.

Isn't Dori's card the cutest?! Remember, if you want to make yours, you'll need to order the supplies before they retire and they're gone forever. Just click on the thumbnails below and you'll be taken to my online store where you can place your order.

Have a great weekend! I'll be back Monday with some more Christmas cards!!

Blue Moves

#faithfulinkspirations   One of my favorite Elton John albums is "Blue Moves." It came out when I was in college and I remember going to Sam Goody in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania, and getting it the day it was released. I climbed into my top bunk, put on my headphones, and listened to the most divine album I'd heard in forever. I recently listened to it all over again because I've just finished Elton's biography, Me, and that album--and all the others--was mentioned in the book. P.S. I loved the book!! Elton had me laughing out loud a lot--and I don't laugh out loud often.

So today's card is a beautiful Night of Navy (blue) card with copper accents. It's simply gorgeous. Take a look and see if you don't agree with me!

I cut a 2" by 3-3/4" strip of the wonderful Brightly Gleaming Designer Series Paper and adhered it to a 3-3/4" by 5" Night of Navy Card Stock panel. I tied some Denim Ribbon around this and then adhered the panel to a Night of Navy Card Stock card base using Stampin' Dimensionals.

Next, I cut a rectangle from a Copper Foil Sheet with one of the Stitched Rectangles Dies and adhered this to the card. I used the Gleaming Ornaments Punches to punch two ornament shapes from the Brightly Gleaming DSP and adhered them to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals.

Finally, I stamped the "Merry Christmas" sentiment from the "Christmas Gleaming" stamp set in Night of Navy Ink onto a Whisper White scrap. I fussy cut the sentiment piece and adhered it to the card with Mini Stampin' Dimensionals.

Stampin' Up just announced that this stamp set and punch pack bundle will be retiring soon, so if you want to make this gorgeous card--or others with these products--get yours before they're gone!
