Something Old Is New Again

#stampinup   #faithfulinkspirations   #christmas   #christmascards   It makes me so happy when a holiday set carries over into the new catalog. That means I can love on it for another year! One of my favorite sets from last year's holiday mini carried over to the Annual Catalog and that is "Perfectly Plaid." I knew I wanted to use it again this year for one of my Christmas card making sessions, but I knew I needed to freshen it up--so adding some new In Color was just the ticket!

My first try on this card was to make it with my old standby green, Old Olive. And while that was nice, I wanted a fresher look so I switched to a 2020-2022 In Color, Just Jade. It's amazing how a little change of color can freshen up a look.

I started with a 3-3/4" by 5" Whisper White Card Stock panel and stamped Seaside Spray "snowflakes" from the "Christmas Gleaming" stamp set (another returning fave) randomly all over. I adhered this panel to a 4" by 5-1/4" Just Jade Card Stock panel and then onto a Seaside Spray Card Stock card base.

Next, I stamped the pine trees in Just Jade Ink onto Whisper White Card Stock. One tree is stamped full strength, two trees are stamped off once. I punched these out with the coordinating Pine Tree Punch and then I stamped the trunks in Early Espresso Ink. PROTIP: Stamping the trunks after punching the trees helps you line up the trunks better.

I stamped a sentiment in Just Jade Ink onto Whisper White Card Stock and cut it out with one of the Tasteful Labels Dies. I adhered the sentiment and the trees to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals. I gave the trees a bit of glimmer by brushing on some Wink of Stella.

To finish the card I added 5 Just Jade Snowflake Adhesive-Back Embellishments--another fresh idea from the current Mini Catalog!

Stay healthy! Stay safe!

Brightly Gleaming Candy Bars

#stampinup   #faithfulinkspirations   I love, love, LOVE the Brightly Gleaming Designer Series Paper on pages 30-32 in the Holiday Catalog. I used it on several cards, but I had a lot left over. I didn't want to continue to horde this gorgeous paper--it needed to come out and make someone's day. So, I used it to wrap some chocolate bars to drop in my coworkers' stockings. It was so easy. Take a look at how pretty these turned out!

I wrapped the bars with the Pretty Peacock and Copper DSP. I stamped the larger ornament from the "Christmas Gleaming" stamp set in Versamark Ink onto Pretty Peacock Card Stock. Then I sprinkled on some Copper Stampin' Emboss Powder and set the design with my heat gun. I stamped a sentiment from the same set onto Old Olive Card Stock, heat embossed the Copper Powder and made a label with the Scallop Tag Topper Punch. I tied the ornament and label onto the bars with some Copper Trim Ribbon. So pretty!

And with that, I bid you a Merry Christmas! I'm going to take a few days (weeks?) off to spend the holiday with my family. Before you know it 2020 will be here--and the new Stampin' Up Mini Catalog and Sale-a-Bration! I have oodles of things to show you and to tell you about when I return to the stampin' room and create for you.

See you soon!

Blue Christmas

#stampinup   #faithfulinkspirations   Sometimes clean and simple is just the ticket. Take this card, for example.  It uses plenty of white space and just one color--Blueberry Bushel. I think it's stunning. We made this card at the Christmas card sampler gathering of the Proverbial Stampers & Friends.
We started by stamping the larger ornament from the "Christmas Gleaming" stamp set in Blueberry Bushel Ink onto Whisper White Card Stock and punched it out with the matching Gleaming Ornaments Punch. We cut a Stitched Nested Label from Whisper White Card Stock and stamped the "Merry Christmas" greeting in Blueberry Bushel Ink onto the end. We adhered that to a just-larger Stitched Nested Label cut from Blueberry Bushel Card Stock.

To build the card, we started with a Thick Whisper White Card Stock card base, added a 4" by 5-1/4" Blueberry Bushel mat (PROTIP: Cut your Blueberry Bushel Stitched Nested Label from the center of this piece), and then a 3-3/4" by 4" Whisper White Card Stock Panel. We adhered a 2" by 3-3/4" strip of the ever so pretty Noble Peacock Specialty Designer Series Paper to the Whisper White Panel and then adhered the Stitched Nested Labels on top.

We adhered the ornament with Stampin' Dimensionals and a sweet Whisper White Baker's Twine Bow was added using a Mini Glue Dot. So cute!

Jolly Season

#stampinup   #faithfulinkspirations   I love the Brightly Gleaming Suite in on pages 30 through 32 of the holiday catalog. The colors are gorgeous together: Pretty Peacock, Mossy Meadow, Night of Navy, and Very Vanilla with Copper Foil Accents. We made this fun card at the Proverbial Stamper & Friends holiday catalog gathering. I loved it so much that I used it as one of the cards we made at my Christmas card stamp-a-stack sessions. It looks hard, but it's easy-peasy to make!
Start with a Night of Navy Card Stock card base, cut lengthwise. Score it a 5-1/2" inches, as usual, but then cut off one side so that you end up with a 2" flap. Cut a 4-1/4" by 2" piece from the remaining piece--that will be the bottom of your card front. I adhered a 1-3/4" by 4" strip of Brightly Gleaming Specialty Designer Series Paper to the top flap of the card and onto what will be the bottom piece.

Next, I stamped a sentiment from the "Christmas Gleaming" stamp set in Pretty Peacock Ink onto the corner of a 2-3/4" by 3-1/2" Very Vanilla Card Stock panel. I adhered this to a 3" by 3-3/4" Pretty Peacock Card Stock mat. I aligned the loose piece at the bottom of the card and adhered the stamped panel to the top and bottom of the card with Stampin' Dimensionals, making a "bridge."

I stamped the larger ornament from the "Christmas Gleaming" set in Pretty Peacock Ink and the smaller ornament in Night of Navy Ink onto Very Vanilla Cardstock. I punched these out with the matching Gleaming Ornaments Punch Pack and adhered them to the panel with Stampin' Dimensionals. I punched two Copper Foil leaves with the Leaf Punch and tucked them behind the ornaments, adhering them with a little bit of Snail Adhesive.

To finish the card, I added a 4" by 5-1/4" Very Vanilla panel inside the card, which you can see peeking out the sides, behind the sentiment "bridge."

You can get the "Christmas Gleaming" stamp set and the Gleaming Ornaments Punch Pack in a bundle, saving 10% off the price of purchasing them separately. Better yet, you can get everything in the Brightly Gleaming Suite with one item number (153467), and still get your 10% discount on the bundle!

Have a great weekend! I'll see you again on Monday for my final week of Christmas designs!
