Creation Station Blog Hop--August 3rd Edition
Welcome back to Creation Station where this installment's theme is ALL THINGS PARTY! We're featuring the"Amazing Birthday" stamp set. I spotted this set right away when the new catalog came out, but I had to defer my excitement because it was one of the stamp sets we got at the #InspireCreateShare2014 Stampin' Up convention! We made a really cute project with it...well, some people made the entire project. Um, I didn't finish. When I finish I will definitely share it on my blog. But, as usual, I digress...
To get some inspiration, I headed over to Pinterest where there are a kajillion party ideas. I was looking for something bright and cheery and maybe some banners, which are all the rage. Here are a a couple ideas that inspired me.
Wouldn't you love to attend these parties? The decorations are so FUN!! I wanted to make something BRIGHT and FUN and SURPRISING with the "Amazing Birthday" set.
I started with the fun "Sweet Taffy" designer series paper, which established my color scheme, and used the not-yet-available-to-customers-but-you'll-have-to-have-it Gift Box Punch Board!!! Squee!! It's so quick and easy to make boxes of every size! I can't show you the actual Gift Box Punch Board, but I can show you the box I made. Lookie:
The box is 3.25" by 3.25" by 2.75". It's so cute! But wait until you see the surprise inside!!
Isn't the Daffodil Delight striped inside gorgeous?! I love how that looks with all the other colored banner pieces. I stamped the main greeting in Old Olive and cut it using one of the banner framelits. Then I stamped the word "make" from the greeting in Daffodil Delight, cut it out with the small oval punch, and mounted it on the banner with stampin' dimensionals. I stamped the word "today" in Melon Mambo, fussy cut it, and mounted it onto the banner with stampin' dimensionals. Finally, I stamped the word "amazing" in Tempting Turquoise, fussy cut it, and mounted it on the banner with stampin' dimensionals.
I stamped each of the circle stamps from the set in Tempting Turquoise, Pumpkin Pie, and Melon Mambo and punched them with the 1-1/4" circle punch. Each circle and the banner is mounted onto the Melon Mambo ribbon using stampin' dimensionals--there is a circle and a banner on each side of the ribbon, so if the ribbon rotates, the recipient will see the banner from all sides.
Here's what the banner looks like when you unhook the ribbon from the box and stretch it out:
Oh look! There's a gift card inside! At the end of the banner is another Tempting Turquoise circle with the birthday cake stamp adhered to the bottom of the box. Here's a closer look at the banner:
And a closer look at the banner/tag:
I hope you enjoyed my ridiculously AMAZING and SURPRISING gift card box. Next up, is one of the new Stampin' Up Design Team members, Teneale Williams. Congratulations, Teneale! What a great honor--and well deserved!! Use the "next" button to get to Teneale's fabulous creations or the "back" button to return to Ilina Crouse's amazing art!
