Awesome Stamp Etched Card by Lydia!

I was an angel stamper in Lyssa Zwolanek's "convention quality swap." Fortunately for me--and unfortunately for the other stamper--someone didn't show up, so I got to swap in two groups! Yay! But even more wonderful, the fabulously talented Lydia Fiedler (of Splitcoast Stampers fame) was in the swap!! I got my very own Lydia Fiedler card!! Woot!

Lydia used the "Blended Bloom" al la carte stamp. I wanted you to see the stamp the "before" so you can truly marvel at the "after Lydia created a work of art!"

You can see that it's a plain, line-drawn image (perfect for coloring with Blendabilities). But wait until you see what Lydia's done with it!

Here's a closeup of the bloom. Isn't it fantabulous?!

Lydia taught us this etched stamp technique during her demonstration at the #InspireCreateShare2014 Stampin' Up! convention. It's pretty simple: put the tip of your marker on the paper and flick it to draw a short line. The flicking action makes the line tapered. That's it!!

You should also visit Lydia's blog. She's an amazing artist--and a real hoot!! The link will start you off on a post about Lydia's convention experience and show you another version of this card using the same technique. If you look closely at one of the pictures, you might even see me!
