Rocky Retro Thanks

#stampinup

I can't get enough of the Adventure Bound Designer Series Paper Stack! Today I tried to use one of the Island Indigo patterns, but it just wasn't working for me in this design. So, I turned it over and there were those gorgeous river rocks! Love them!

I'm playing along in this week's Retro Sketches challenge. I  switched it up just a bit. Instead of a sentiment on a flag at the bottom of the design, I used a length of ribbon for my "flag" and stamped the sentiment right onto one of the mats.

I started with a Basic Gray card base, cut lengthwise. I added the Adventure Bound layer and a Smoky Slate layer, cut like the sketch. I rounded the corners of these pieces to add a little interest. I stamped the "Thanks So Much" sentiment from the "B.Y.O.P." set (carrying over to the NEW catalog!!!) in Basic Gray. Next I added some blotches and dots from the "Gorgeous Grunge" set (also carrying over!) in Smoky Slate.

Finally, I added a Smoky Slate button from the Neutrals Designer Buttons collection, tied with a bit of Whisper White Baker's Twine. I attached the button with a glue dot. I tried not to add a bow at the bottom and just leave the strip of Whisper White 1/4" Cotton Ribbon...but I just couldn't!! So I tied another piece of Whisper White Cotton Ribbon onto the strip to make a bow. It just had to be.

  1. I really like your card, I'm a real fan of greys and dark colours in cards, think it look classy:)
