Bright Flowers

#stampinup   #saleabration2016   When I saw the color combination at this week's Create with Connie and Mary challenge blog, I almost passed. I didn't think I could make anything pretty with these colors. I could handle any two of the colors together at a time, but throw in that third one, and I just didn't "get" it. But I decided to play along and see if I could work outside my comfort zone.

I started with a Whisper White panel and stamped two flowers from the "Flowering Fields" Sale-a-Bration stamp set in Basic Black Archival Ink. I stamped a sentiment from the "Rose Wonder" stamp set, also in Basic Black Archival Ink.

I colored the flowers in Wisteria Wonder with my Blender Pens. I added a bit of Pear Pizzazz for the stems and leaves. I adhered this panel to a Melon Mambo mat and added a strip of Bermuda Bay Designer Series Paper from the Brights Collection. I tied two lengths of Whisper White Baker's Twine around the piece before adhering everything to a Wisteria Wonder card base.

Once everything was together, I decided to add a little bit of Clear Wink of Stella for a little shimmer. I like the results of this color combination!

  1. How very pretty Kathy! By leaving lots of white space you've managed to balance this week's challenge colours perfectly, which is no mean feat! I love the addition of the baker's twine bow and the Wink of Stella for some added sparkle too. Thanks for overcoming your fears and joining us over at Create With Connie and Mary this week!
