Pretty in Pink...and Red and Watermelon

#stampinup   Yay! I'm so excited that the Fab Friday challenge blog is back! The creative team takes a well deserved break right after Christmas and I miss them so much when they're gone. The Fab Friday challenge is the reason I started my little blog--I wanted to play along with the design team. And then I decided that I was going to blog every weekday--and here I am! I've pretty much kept up with my goal--and it all started with the Fab Friday challenge. Thanks for the inspiration, you guys!!

This time the Fab Friday challenge is a great for Valentine's Day color challenge.

As soon as I saw these colors, I reached for the "Work of Art" stamp set. I knew this would be a great set for a clean and simple design.

I started with a Whisper White Thick Card Stock card base, cut lengthwise. I used Stampin' Dimensionals to add a Real Red mat. I like the way this layer pops off the card base.

Next, I got to work with my stamped image. I stamped a "swoop" from the "Work of Art" stamp set in Blushing Bride near the bottom right corner of a Whisper White panel. Then I added a Watermelon Wonder "swoop" right next to it.

I stamped "you" in Watermelon Wonder in the bottom corner under the "swoops" and the heart right next to "you." But I didn't like how flat the heart looked, so I stamped the heart again in Watermelon Wonder onto a Whisper White scrap and fussy cut it. I coiled some Gold Metallic Thread and adhered the cut heart on top with a Stampin' Dimensional.

Finally, I added several sequins from the Blushing Bride Sequin Trim using the Fine-Tip Glue Pen. I think this card is really sweet--and I'm so pleased how it turned out--just how I envisioned it!
