Creation Station: Ombre Blending

Hello and welcome to the August Creation Station Design Team's Ombre Blending blog hop. This month the team has created projects blending inks for an ombre effect. I can't wait to see what our amazing design team has created for us! Let's get started with my creation.

I used our Blending Brushes to apply Lemon Lolly, then Lemon Lime Twist, and finally Azure Afternoon onto a 3.75" by 5" Basic White panel. After I applied the inks, I stamped the words from the "Biggest Wish" stamp set in Memento Tuxedo Black. I love the bold black against the bright ombre colors! I adhered this to a 4" by 5.25" Basic Black mat and then used Black Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere this ti a Thick Basic White Card Stock card base.

I wanted to add some sparkle to the card--and, boy, did I ever! I added quite a few Iridescent Rhinestones and Iridescent Pastel Gems to the card. They remind me of champagne bubbles--so festive!

Next up is Vicki Boucher who is a demonstrator from Melbourne Australia and a member of Stampin' Up's Artisan Design Team. I know she will WOW you with her project!

The Creation Station Design Team is also having an Instagram hop. Head on over to my account @kkstamper and you can hop around the team's designs there, too. We'd love it if you'd give us a follow!

Until next time--happy stamping!

Creation Station: In Colors & More!

Hello and welcome to the July 2023 Creation Station blog hop! This month our Design Team is featuring Stampin' Up's In Colors and core colors in our projects? Stampin' Up uses In Colors in addition to the 40 core colors to keep the entire color palette fresh. The In Colors are "in" for two years at a time and then they usually disappear--unless they're brought back as returning colors! We had a color refresh this year so there were 5 new 2023-2025 In Colors (in addition to the 2022-2024 In Colors), 7 returning colors, and 4 new core colors.

Whew! That's a lot of colors--but I LOVE color, don't you?! Our goal this month is to use one In Color, one core color, and Basic White in our project. Let's take a look at what I've come up with.

I've been working with the "Cheerful Daisies" bundle lately, so I continued my streak with this card. I also wanted to make sure I used cheerful colors, so I combined Pebbled Path with Pool Party. I was so pleased with how these colors went together--and the pops of Basic White really make the card cheerful, don't you think?
When I stamp a sentiment on colored card stock, I like to emboss the ink so that it stands out better. I feel like the ink sinks into the colored card stock. So, I stamp the sentiment, quickly sprinkle on Clear Stampin' Emboss Powder, and set it with my Heat Tool. Here's a closer look. I think that gives the card just a little something special.

Did you catch the other theme I used for this card? You should have noticed an abundance of circles--on the Basic White mat that I embossed with the Hobnail-Glass Dots folder from the Online Exclusives Basics 3D Embossing Folders, to the circles on the 2023-2025 Pebbled Path Designer Series Paper, and even to the Pebbled Path In Color Dots! I thought that was a clever touch, if I do say so myself (and I do)!

I hope you were inspired by my full of color card. It was fun to pull together--and if you want to create your own version, you can click on the thumbnails below and go right to my online store where you can make your purchase.

Next up is Yvonne Spikmans-Van Bruggen all the way from the Netherlands! She is an amazing artist and I know you'll love her designs!

We're also hosting an Instagram hop so if you'd like to follow me--and the other members of the Creation Station Design Team--hop on over to my Instagram account @kkstamper

Until next time...

Fresh As A Daisy--Love it, Chop It!

My BFF and stamping partner, Lynn Birus, and I are busily preparing for our upcoming "Fresh as a Daisy--Love It, Chop It" class. "What's that?" you may well ask. Australian Stampin' Up demonstrator Kylie Bertucci came up with the idea (and #loveitchopit) a while back when she realized that a lot of us hoard our designer series papers because we love them so much we don't want to cut into them. Well, we should cut our DSPs and use them! So Lynn and I are going to help our stampers love the Fresh as a Daisy DSP and chop into it to make cards at our upcoming class! Here's a sample card to get you excited about the class!

If you're local to Ellicott City, Maryland, we'd love to have you join us on July 8. Your class fee includes a full package of Fresh as a Daisy DSP and a full package of the coordinating Adhesive-Backed Solid Gems along with the supplies to create 8 cards with this beautiful suite.

If you'd like a to-go kit, I can hook you up! When you purchase the Fresh as a Daisy suite from me--just click on the thumbnail below and you'll go directly to my online store--I'll send you the "card parts" for the cards for FREE along with a full-color pdf tutorial.

Just want the tutorial? Scan the QR code and I'll email you the pdf tutorial!

I hope you'll join Lynn and me either in person or virtually to LOVE and CHOP your Fresh as a Daisy DSP!!
