Faith vs Fear

#stampinup   #faithfulinkspirations   I really like saying: "Let your faith be bigger than your fear." It's a perfect saying to affirm that our God is bigger than anything that can harm us. This saying is certainly poignant during this time of COVID. I started off the COVID crises vacillating between utter fear and a "bring it on" kind of bravado. Those swings were wild. Then someone posted the thought: "Faith over fear" and I realized that was just what I needed to hold on to. Just like Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego said, when faced with the fiery furnace, "Our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king. But if not, be it known unto thee, O king, that we will not serve thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up." (Dan. 3:17-18)  Those young men had faith over fear that God could save them, but even if he did not, their faith was greater than their fear. I endeavor to live that out in my life...even if it takes me a minute to get there.

So I was super excited to see the "Ridiculously Awesome" stamp set in Stampin' Up's 2020-2021 Annual Catalog. This set was designed by million-dollar-earner Ronda Wade. And in this set, she included the phrase, "Let your FAITH be stronger than your fear."

I stamped the sentiment in Night of Navy Ink onto a 2-3/8" by 3-5/8" Whisper White panel. I adhered this to a scalloped Night of Navy Card Stock rectangle that I cut with one of the Stitched So Sweetly Dies. I embossed a 3-5/8" by 5" Granny Apple Green Card Stock panel with the Old World Paper 3D Embossing Folder and then adhered it to a 4" by 5-1/4" Whisper White mat. I adhered a 1" by 3-1/2" strip of Artistry Blooms Designer Series Paper to this and then adhered everything to a Night of Navy Card Stock card base.

Next, I wrapped a length of Whisper White Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon around the sentiment piece and adhered this to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals. I punched a flower from a sheet of Rainbow Shimmer Paper with the Small Bloom Punch and used a Stampin' Dimensional to adhere it to the card. For a finishing touch, I added an Artistry Blooms Sequin to the center of the flower.

I hope you are able to have faith over fear--now in the time of COVID and throughout your life.

Stay healthy! Stay safe!

Have an Awesome Day!

#stampinup   #faithfulinkspirations   It's almost the weekend! Yay! I have a card that is ridiculously awesome. Wanna see it? OK!
This card uses the "Ridiculously Awesome" stamp set. The images in this set are bold and fun. They can be the stars of their own shows. For this card, I stamped the sentiment in Memento Tuxedo Black onto Whisper White Card Stock and cut it out with one of the Stitched So Sweetly Dies.

Next, I embossed one half of a 4" by 5-1/4" Whisper White Card Stock panel with one of the Meadow Moments Mini Embossing Folders. I adhered a 2-1/2" by 4" piece of Rich Razzleberry Artistry Blooms Designer Series Paper to the other half. I wrapped two lengths of Whisper White 1/4" Seam Binding Ribbon around the center, hiding the seam between the two pieces and then adhered the panel to a Rich Razzleberry Card Stock card base.

To finish the card, I adhered the sentiment piece with Stampin' Dimensionals and then added three Artistry Blooms Sequins to the card. I love this set of sequins--they coordinate with so many other products, not just the Artistry Blooms Suite, and they add a fun, colorful element to any card.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend! Stay healthy! Stay safe!

Comfort & Peace

#stampinup   #faithfulinkspirations   I love to use Stampin' Up products in surprising ways--it shows how versatile our products are! I think I've mentioned before that when I first started stamping, I would see a card in the catalog and buy everything I needed to make that one card. I never, ever thought of mixing stamp sets or items from one "suite" with another. It honestly never occurred to me, for more years than I'd like to admit. I'm still a simple, color-in-the-lines stamper, but sometimes coloring outside the lines is just the thing to let your creative juices flow. While I did not design this card, I do love all the surprising elements. We made this card as part of our make and takes for one of the Proverbial Stampers team meetings.

Surprise #1:  We embossed a 4" by 5-1/4" Soft Sea Foam Card Stock panel with the Always Argyle 3D Embossing Folder. That folder was originally part of a suite that was all about golfing--but it carried over into the current catalog and stand on its own! We used Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere this panel to a Soft Sea Foam Card Stock card base.

Surprise #2:  We used the "Gorgeous Posies" stamp set that goes with the project kit of the same name--without the project kit. A literal outside the box use of this set! We stamped both elements of the posy image in Blushing Bride Ink onto Whisper White Card stock and fussy cut the elements with our Paper Snips.

We also stamped the posy's leaves in Soft Sea Foam Ink onto a 2-3/4" by 3-3/4" Whisper White Card Stock piece, onto which we also stamped a sentiment from the set in Basic Gray Ink. We adhered the posy pieces to this piece with Stampin' Dimensionals and then adhered it to a 3" by 4" Blushing Bride Card Stock piece.

Surprise #3:  We cut a Square Vellum Doily in half along the diagonal and adhered one half to the back of the Blushing Bride piece. Then we adhered that piece to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals.

I love this Soft Sea Foam, Blushing Bride, Whisper White, Basic Gray color combo--that's a surprising combo that I wouldn't have thought of myself!

Stay healthy! Stay safe! See you tomorrow!

Bunches of Thanks

#stampinup   #faithfulinkspirations   Yesterday I promised that I would show you a card using the wonderful "Sunflower Celebration" stamp set that uses the same colors. And here it is! If you missed yesterday's card, you can click here.
This card is so quick and easy to make! I stamped the fantastic sunflower image from the "Celebrate Sunflowers" set in Misty Moonlight Ink onto a 4" by 5-1/4" Misty Moonlight Card Stock panel. I adhered this to a Daffodil Delight Card Stock card base.

Next, I added a Just Jade polka dotted  1" by 5-1/4" strip of of the lovely Flowers for Every Season Designer Series Paper. I added another 1" by 5-/1'4 strip of the sunflowers on Misty Moonlight background DSP.

A stamped a sentiment from the "Celebrate Sunflowers" set in Bumblebee Ink onto a 1" Bumblebee Card Stock strip and flagged the end with my Paper Snips. To finish the card, I tied a bow with a length of  the Misty Moonlight/Whisper White Twine from the Flowers for Every Season Ribbon Combo Pack and adhered it to the card with a Mini Glue Dot.

Isn't this pretty? I love how it coordinates with the card I posted yesterday. If you'd like to purchase the products to make this card, just click on the thumbnails below and you'll be taken directly to my online store where you can make your purchases.
