Free as a Bird Kit to Go

#stampinup   #faithfulinkspirations   #KitsToGo   My job has put most of us on administrative leave for the time being. I'm blessed to have a stable job with a steady income. I know there are many people out there who can't say the same. I'm praying for our country--and our world--for our health and economy. I know we're strong. I know we'll get through it. In the meantime, we need to find positive things to do during our quarantine.

What better way of being positive is doing something creative? Making cards is my creative outlet. I love the process of creating a little piece of art. I've made a promise that I will not only #makeacard but that I will also #sendacard. I have loads of cards and I'm going to start sending them out in the hope of encouraging others and brightening their day.

If you'd like to do that--make something pretty and send it to someone--I can hook you up with all the supplies you need. The easiest way is to subscribe to Paper Pumpkin. You'll receive an all-inclusive kit once a month. These kits are so fun and easy to do. If you have kids at home, they can create along with you. Sign up by April 10 to get the "My Wonderful Family" kit. The kit is $22 "pay as you go." You can save money by subscribing:
3 months for $63; 6 months for $114; or 12 months for $220. If you subscribe for 3 months or more before March 31st, you're eligible for FREE product during Sale-a-Bration. Click on the Paper Pumpkin on the right side of my blog, or contact me for more info.

I'm also offering a few "to go" kits (while supplies last). Today's kit uses product from the Bird Ballad Suite on pages 90-92 of the Annual Catalog. There are two options: a product plus pre-cut card kit or just the pre-cut card kit.

Option One: Product Plus Pre-Cut Card Kit

Purchase all the following items on my online store (click on one of the thumbnails below to start you order) and I'll send you all the supplies and instructions to make three of these cute thank you cards.

The total, with shipping and tax (if you're in Maryland), is $65.30. Plus you'll be eligible for a FREE level 1 Sale-a-Bration item (through March 31).

To order, email me at kkstamper@comcast.net and I'll give you instructions for paying me online. The kits will be sent to you via USPS.

Creation Station: Cream of the Crop Shake Up

#stampinup   #creationstation   #faithfulinkspirations   Willkommen! Bienvenue! Welcome! It's time for another inspiring hop with the Creation Station Design team! This month we're pulling out all the stops for our “Cream of the Crop Shake Up” interactive cards. Our task, should we choose to accept it, is to pick our MOST favorite stamp set or bundle and then challenge ourselves to put together a playful, interactive card that shakes, flips, or spins. I've been wanting to play with the Honey Bee Bundle and coordinating Golden Honey Specialty Designer Series Paper. These really are my most favorites--I don't know why I haven't played with them yet. So I got them out and set to work.

I was inspired by a spinner pop-up card I saw over at the Mitosu Crafts blog. Thankfully, Jay posted a video tutorial that could follow because I could never engineer paper like Jay did!  If you're going to try to make a spinner pop-up, I have two words of advice: patience and practice! Jay makes it look so easy, but if you're like me, you're going to need some fiddly time to get the mechanism just right. But it's doable and the results are so fun!

Take a look at the janky video I made, opening my card.

I used a large Stitched Rectangle Die to cut the center out of a 4" by 5-1/4" Whisper White Panel so that I could reserve that card stock to use later for the elements of my card. I adhered a 3-3/4" by 5" piece of  Golden Honey Specialty DSP on top and then a 1" by 3-3/4" strip from the same DSP. I wrapped a length of Basic Black Glittered Organdy Ribbon around everything before adhering to a Basic Black Card Stock card base.

I stamped a sentiment from the "Honey Bee" stamp set in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink onto Whisper White Card Stock (reserved from the center of the mat) and then cut it out with a Stitched Nested Label Die. I used the same die to cut a piece of Gold Foil. I trimmed the Whisper White piece so that it would fit into the Gold Foil Frame.

I cut two honeycomb pieces using one of the Detailed Bee Dies. I left some of the hexagon pieces in place and adhered it to the card. I used another Detailed Bee Die to cut out the bee from the Golden Honey Specialty DSP--it fits perfectly!!

Inside the card, I added some more Golden Honey Specialty DSP. I stamped some bees from the "Honey Bee" set in Memento Tuxedo Black onto the reserved Whisper White and cut them out with their matching Detailed Bee Dies. I cut a Whisper White rectangle with a Stitched Rectangle Die and stamped the "hello" and flower from the "Honey Bee" set in Tuxedo Black.

Two more bees from the DSP and the second honeycomb finish the inside--no wait! I added some Wink of Stella to the bees' wings and to the flowers.

I hope I've inspired you with my project. For more inspiration, hop on over to Dena's blog!
