Geared Up for Dad

#stampinup   #faithfulinkspirations  Happy New Year everyone! I hope you had a wonderful holiday season spent with family and friends. Our family had a nice, quiet Christmas, spending time together and just relaxing.

The new year is just about to start and I'm excited to share with you some projects made with products from the Stampin' Up Occasions and Sale-a-Bration catalogs. We made these projects at the OnStage event in November and I've been waiting ever so patiently to share them! But first, a word from our sponsor.

The most wonderful time of the Stampin' Up year is almost here--Sale-a-Bration starts on January 3rd and runs through March 31st. Whenever you purchase $50 in Stampin' Up product, you earn one Sale-a-Bration product! Such a great deal!! If you host a party or "event" during Sale-a-Bration, you can earn additional FREE product depending on your sales. And if you join during Sale-a-Bration, we have some awesome incentives! More on that later this week. Now let's see the first project!

This project is made with goodies from the Classic Garage Suite. I LOVE this suite because my dad raced stock cars in his youth and worked on stock cars for as long as I can remember. This suite reminds me of him!

We started by stamping the sentiment from the "Geared Up Garage" stamp set in Basic Gray Ink onto Smoky Slate Card Stock. We cut it out with the matching Garage Gears Thinlit Die. We cut the gears from Tranquil Tide Card Stock using another of the Garage Gears Thinlits Dies.

Next, we adhered a 3/4" by 3-5/8" strip of Crushed Curry Classic Garage 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper to a 3-5/8" square of another sheet of this DSP. We adhered the gears to this and then wrapped a length of Black/Silver Striped Metallic Ribbon around before adhering everything to a Mini Pizza Box. We adhered the label to the box with Stampin' Dimensionals.

If you're not too tuckered out from your New Year's Eve festivities, come back tomorrow for another super project made with new Stampin' Up goodies! And I'll tell you all about our fabulous new CLING stamps!!

Reminder: You can't buy the Occasions products until January 3, 2019, but after that time, you can click on these thumbnails and go right to my online store to purchase them! The Annual Catalog items are available now!

Black & White Soiree

#stampinup   #faithfulinkspirations   Get ready for another gorgeous card straight from Japan. Today is the second card I received from Junko Morita. This one is black and white with a pop of color--fresh fig, to be exact! This card is so pretty!!

Junko stamped the floral cake image and two leaves from the "Cake Soiree" stamp set in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink onto Whisper White Card Stock. She cut these out with the coordinating Sweet Cake Framelits. She used framelits from the same set to cut out the two-piece cake stand and the swirly element at the top of the card. She stamped a flower from the "Cake Soiree" set in Fresh Fig Ink onto Whisper White and cut it out with its matching Sweet Cake Framelit.

Junko stamped the "happy birthday" sentiment from the same set in Tuxedo Black Ink onto Whisper White Card Stock and cut it out with a circle from the Stitched Shapes Framelits collection.

To build the card, Junko started with a Basic Black Card Stock card base. She embossed a 4" by 5-1/4" Whisper White Card Stock panel with the Softly Falling Embossing Folder and adhered this to the card base. She adhered the cake stand and swirly element directly to the card and used Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the cake.

Junko cut a length of Black 1/8" Cord and adhered this to the top corner of the card, in a loop. She adhered the sentiment piece to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals. The stamped flower is adhered directly to the card.

The piece de resistance is the pretty 3D flower atop the cake. Juko punched a piece of Fresh Fig Card Stock with the 1-1/8" Scallop Punch and cut it in a spiral. She curled the piece into a flower and adhered it with a Glue Dot. She put a small Basic Pearl in the center of the flower.

Isn't this card amazing?

So, what's up for next week? Well, our family will be celebrating Christmas, but I hope to work ahead and post some sneak peeks of products from the upcoming Occasions and Sale-a-Bration catalogs. So come back next week to see what I have in store for you. You can always subscribe to my blog so you get email notifications--that way you won't have to remember!!

Thanks for stopping by!

Another Day, Another Card from Japan

#stampinup   #faithfulinkspirations   Yesterday I shared a swap card I received at Stampin' Up's OnStage Live event from a stamper from Japan. Today I have another card from another Japanese stamper, Junko Morita. Junko used the same suite of products that Masako used, but her card is so different. Yet, it's just as beautiful! Take a look!

Junko used the Graceful Glass Suite of products for this card. It was her card for the black and white swap. (Tomorrow, I'll show you the card Junko made for the black and white with one color swap!) Junko stamped a sentiment from the "Painted Glass" stamp set in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and then used one of the Stitched Labels Framelits to make a tag. She used another Stitched Label Framelit to make the Basic Black Card Stock circle behind the tag.

Next, she embossed a 4" by 5-1/4" Whisper White Card Stock panel with the Tufted Embossing Folder and then she punched the corners with the Detailed Trio Punch--once to round the corners and again to add the floral design. She cut two elements from Basic Black Card Stock with the Stained Glass Thinlits and adhered these to the card with Fine-Tip Glue. She wrapped a length of Whisper White Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon around this piece and adhered it to a Basic Black Card Stock card base.

To finish the card, Junko adhered the Basic Black circle element and tag with Stampin' Dimensionals. She stamped a butterfly from the "Painted Glass" set in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink onto Whisper White Card Stock and cut it out with the matching Stained Glass Thinlit. She adhered this directly to the card and added some bling by placing two small Clear Rhinestones on the butterfly.

If you think this card is gorgeous--and you should!--come back tomorrow to see Junko's other card. I saved my favorite for last!

Direct from Japan!!

#stampinup   #faithfulinkspirations   As I've mentioned once or twice (or a dozen times), I love to swap at Stampin' Up events because I get great ideas for cards and I get to meet so many wonderful stamping friends! I'm always happy to meet people from across the U.S. and Canada, but when Stampin' Up hosts a special event like its 30th anniversary party, stampers come from all over the world. I was able to meet two sweet and talented stampers from Japan when I attended the 30th anniversary celebration--and I got swap cards from them!!

Today's card was from the black and white plus one color swap and it was made by Masako Chisaka from Tokyo, Japan. Isn't it gorgeous?!

Masako used products from the Graceful Glass Suite on pages 164 and 165 of the annual catalog. She stamped a sentiment from the "Painted Glass" stamp set in Versamark Ink on a 1-1/4" by 2-5/8" Powder Pink Card Stock label. She sprinkled on some Black Stampin' Emboss Powder and set it with the Heat Gun.

Next, she embossed a 2-1/2" by 5" Whisper White Card Stock panel with the Tufted Embossing Folder and adhered it to a 4" by 5-1/4" Basic Black Card Stock mat. She cut elements from the Stained Glass Thinlits Dies from Basic Black and Whisper White Card Stock and adhered them to the card with the Fine-Tip Glue Pen. She used the Sprig Punch to make someBasic Black Card Stock sprigs and adhered them to the card.

Masako then wrapped a length of Powder Pink Shimmer Ribbon around the card and added a length of Black 1/8" Cord. She tied a pretty Powder Pink Shimmer Ribbon bow. Then she adhered everything to a Whisper White Card Stock card base.

To finish the card, Masako stamped the butterfly from the "Painted Glass" stamp set in Versamark onto Basic Black Card Stock, sprinkled on some White Stampin' Emboss Powder, and set it with the Heat Tool. She used one of the Stained Glass Thinlits Dies to cut out the butterfly. She adhered this to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals and added a tiny black Faceted Dot. She also adhered the sentiment piece to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals. Finally she added some black sequins from the Metallics Sequin Assortment. Gorgeous!!
