Butterfly Thanks

#stampinup   When I saw this week's CAS(E) This Sketch challenge I immediately thought of fluttering butterflies, so I pulled out the "Papillon Potpourri" set and got to work.

I also had a purple and black theme in mind, so I stamped five of the floral butterflies in Elegant Eggplant onto Whisper White and punched them out with the Elegant Butterfly Punch.

Next, I took an Elegant Eggplant card base and added a Basic Black mat. I stamped a sentiment from the "One Big Meaning" stamp set in Basic Black Archival Ink onto a Whisper White panel. I aligned the sentiment with my Stamp-a-Ma-Jig.

I adhered one Stampin' Dimensional to each butterfly and folded up the wings a bit, to give them depth and motion. I'm really pleased at how this quick and easy, clean and simple card turned out!

Fab Fall, Y'All

#stampinup  This week's challenge on the Fab Friday challenge blog is a color challenge featuring three great colors that are perfect for fall.

I started by stamping the "Hardwood" background stamp in Soft Suede onto a Soft Suede card base. Next, I cut a 2" x 5-1/4" strip of Very Vanilla card stock and stamped the maple leaf from the "For All Things" stamp set in Old Olive, Rich Razzleberry, and Soft Suede. I stamped the acorn stamp in Soft Suede, stamping off once each time. I adhered this panel onto a 2-1/8" x 5-1/2" Old Olive panel.

I wrapped a length of Rich Razzleberry 1/4" Cotton Ribbon around the panel. I threaded some Linen Thread through a Gold Basic Metal Button and adhered that to the bottom of the panel.

Finally, I stamped the "Hello Fall" sentiment in Rich Razzleberry onto a Very Vanilla scrap and punched it out with the Washi Label Punch.

Pink Pansies

#stampinup   Before I share today's card with you, I want to share the fact that my "For the Birds" card was chosen as one of the three winners of the StampInkPaper Challenge blog! I'm so pleased!!

CCMC374
Today's card is my entry into the Create with Connie & Mary color challenge. I'm really loving this color combination! I paired it with two neutrals: Whisper White and Basic Black.

I stamped the pansy from the "Birthday Blossoms" set in Basic Black Archival Ink onto Watermelon Wonder, Calypso Coral, and Blushing Bride card stock. I punched the flowers with the Pansy Punch.

I used a Watermelon Wonder card base and added a Basic Black mat. Using my stamp-a-ma-jig, I stamped the sentiment in Basic Black Archival Ink onto a Whisper White panel.

I used my bone folder to curl the edges of the pansies before I adhered them to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals. Easy-peasy and pretty in pinks!

For the Birds

 SIP Logo Bar Winner

#stampinup   As I was thinking about my layout for this week's StampInkPaper Challenge, I immediately knew I'd start with a Pool Party card base, a Basic Black mat, and a Whisper White panel. I had no idea beyond that.

SIP Color Challenge 15

I cut my card stock and sat down at my stamping table--and there in my card parts pile was a Whisper White panel that I'd previously embossed with the Woodland Embossing Folder. Yes! That's a great idea.

I stamped one of the birds from the "Among the Branches" stamp set in Daffodil Delight and the other in Basic Black Archival Ink.

Next, I stamped the "Happy Halloween" sentiment from the "And Many More" stamp set in Basic Black Archival Ink onto a scrap of Daffodil Delight card stock. I punched this, and a piece of Basic Black card stock, with the Washi Label Punch. I added a strip of Season of Cheer Washi Tape to the bottom of the card and adhered the two labels to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals.

I wasn't so sure about the card, so I showed it to my 16-year-old daughter because she's my best critic. She said, "I like this. I mean it: I really like it. I want it in my room, in a frame." So I think I passed the daughter test!

Update: My card was chosen as one of the three winners of this challenge! I'm so pleased!
