It's Your Day

#stampinup   #faithfulinkspirations   #ThoughtfulThursday   The "A Good Man" stamp set is one I overlooked in the annual catalog. But when we made four cards with this set at the Proverbial Stampers & Friends gathering, I fell in love with it! It's a lovely set if you have men in your life and you'd like to honor them for being good men.

I particularly like the color scheme and design of this card. It's bold and strong--just like a good man! We started by stamping the main image in Memento Tuxedo Black onto a Whisper White Card Stock oval that had been cut with one of the Stitched Shapes Dies. We colored the image with Crumb Cake, Real Red, Smoky Slate, Blueberry Bushel, and Ivory Stampin' Blends. Then we adhered it to a Real Red scalloped oval cut with one of the Layering Ovals Dies.

To build the card, we started with a Blueberry Bushel Card Stock card base and added a 4" by 5-1/4" Whisper White mat. We stamped a sentiment  and the heart from the "A Good Man" set in Blueberry Bushel Ink. We colored the heart with a Real Red Stampin' Blend. We adhered a 4" by 1-1/2" piece of Blueberry Bushel Designer Series Paper from the 2018-2020 In Color 6" by 6" DSP pack and then wrapped a length of Gray Granite Textured Weave Ribbon around. We adhered this piece to the card base.

Finally, we added the stamped oval piece to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals. So handsome, right?!

Relax!

#stampinup   #faithfulinkspirations   #ThoughtfulThursday   What's the most thoughtful thing someone could say to you? Well, I think, "How about you sit down and relax and I'll take care of everything?" That would be sooo thoughtful. Today's card shares that sentiment and it would be perfect to give to the man in your life!

I stamped the image of the relaxing dude from the "A Good Man" stamp set in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink onto Whisper White Card Stock. I cut it out with a square Stitched Shapes Die. I colored him with Light Balmy Blue, Light Pretty Peacock, Light Crumb Cake, and Ivory Stampin' Blends. I adhered this image to a Balmy Blue Card Stock mat.

Next, I stamped a sentiment from the "A Good Man" stamp set in Pretty Peacock Ink onto the bottom corner of a 4" by 5-1/4" Whisper White Card Stock panel. Then I embossed the panel with the Subtle 3D Embossing Folder. I adhered a 1-1/2" by 4" strip of striped Come Sail Away Designer Series paper to the middle and then wrapped some Whisper White Baker's Twine around  before adhering everything to a Balmy Blue Card Stock card base. And, finally, I adhered the stamped image to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals.

Got some men in your life? The "A Good Man" stamp set is perfect for making cards for your guys!

You're a Good Man

#stampinup   #faithfulinkspirations   #ProtipTuesday   Today's card is another great card we made with the "A Good Man" stamp set at the Proverbial Stampers & Friends gathering in June.  This set pairs really well with the striped sheets of either the Come Sail Away Designer Series Paper or, as in today's card, with the striped sheet of the Magnolia Lane DSP.

Let's start with the PROTIP, it's one of my favorites. See that Whisper White Card Stock mat between the Night of Navy base and the DSP? You only see a little border. Well, here's the PROTIP--before you even begin assembling the card, stamp the image from the "A Good Man" stamp set in the very center of that mat and cut it out with a Stitched Rectangle Die. Who's going to know it's missing when you've assembled your card? You can do this with any die. Here's how it would look if we'd actually done it for this card.

After we stamped the image in Memento Tuxedo Black, we colored it with Light Night of Navy, Light Old Olive, Light Balmy Blue, Light Crumb Cake, and Ivory Stampin' Blends.

We adhered a 2-1/4" by 3-3/4" Night of Navy Card Stock piece that we embossed with the Corrugated 3D Embossing Folder to the top of a 4" by 5-1/4" Whisper White panel. We adhered a 3-3/4" by 4" piece of Magnolia Lane DSP to the bottom. We wrapped a length of Whisper White Flax Ribbon around the "seam" before adhering everything to a Night of Navy Card Stock card base.

We adhered the stamped rectangle to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals. For a finishing touch, we stamped the sentiment onto a 1/2" Whisper White strip and snipped off the end. We adhered this to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals. Finally, we added a copper Designer Element.  I love those, don't you?!

Taking it Easy

#stampinup   #faithfulinkspirations   #ManicMonday  I'm having more than a manic Monday--I'm having getting-ready-for-a-three-week-work-trip mania! I'm going be preparing most of my July posts ahead of time, so I won't be abandoning you while I'm away. For the most part, I'm going to be keeping up with my themes, but I'm going to switch up Wednesday's theme--you'll have to come back to see. And I'll be using some of the cards we made at the Proverbial Stampers & Friends new catalog gathering as well as cards I received during our group swap. So, you'll be having some guest designers, too.

Today's card is from the new catalog gathering. We made a set of four different cards from the "A Good Man" stamp set. I love the simplicity of this card--which makes it perfect for Manic Monday!

We stamped the image of the man lounging at the beach in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. We colored his shirt with a Light Pretty Peacock Stampin' Blend, his hat and pants with a Light Soft Suede Blend, his legs with an Ivory Stampin' Blend, and the shadows beneath his chair with a Light Crumb Cake Blend. We cut out the image with a circle Stitched Shape Die.

We also cut a Soft Suede Card Stock rectangle and a Crumb Cake Card Stock rectangle with a Stitched Rectangle Die. We wrapped some Linen Thread around the Soft Suede piece and adhered it directly to a Pretty Peacock Card Stock card base. We stamped a sentiment from the "A Good Man" stamp set onto the Crumb Cake piece in Pretty Peacock Ink and adhered this piece directly to the card.

Finally, we used Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the circle image to the card. Quick and easy but a great card for that good man in your life!
