Fab Letterpress Winter

This week's challenge on the Fab Friday challenge blog is a color challenge.

I usually shy away from color challenges that have more than 3 colors. I'm always afraid that my design will be too much of a good bad thing. But I thought the Letterpress Winter snowflakes in Old Olive, Coastal Cabana, and Bermuda Bay would be kinda cool with Cherry Cobbler accents.

Letterpress Winter

I loved the "Letterpress Winter" stamp set the moment I saw it...and then I had trouble figuring out how to use it. I've been working with it, but I'm still trying to perfect it.

In the meantime, I found a lovely card made by Julie Davison. It's pretty close to perfection--so I had to CASE it! Julie used the "All Is Calm" embellishments, but since my Christmas card-making stampers will be making 60 of these, I substituted some basic rhinestones to provide a bit of bling.

Watercooler Snowflakes

This week's Watercooler challenge blog has a pretty color combination. I thought it would go well with the "Letterpress Winter" stamp set.

I've been trying to find a way to use this stamp set. It's so pretty, but I haven't been able to master this set. I'm still working on it. Here's the card I came up with. (Ii apparently also haven't mastered how to follow instructions 'cause I just realized I used Lost Lagoon instead of Marina Mist--doh!)

(Stamp Sets: Letterpress Winter, Festival of Trees; Inks: Lost Lagoon, Night of Navy; Card Stock: Night of Navy, Lost Lagoon, Whisper White; Accessories: Silver 1//8" Ribbon, Basic Rhinestones)
I stamped a random background in Lost Lagoon ink using the medium sized snowflake. I stamped the smallest snowflake in Night of Navy in the center of each snowflake. To add the silver I added a rhinestone in the center of each snowflake and a double strand of silver ribbon.
