Festive Panda

 

#stampinup   #saleabration2018   #faithfulinkspirations   #FF0003   The Festive Friday challenge is a fun one this time! The challenge is to use either something that celebrates national panda day or black and white or both! 

My card is a little bit panda and a little bit black and white and a whole lot of festive!

I'd seen a card nearly like this one that used the "Party Panda" set to make a panda selfie and I thought it was cute. I started out with an idea just to do the selfie, but once I'd cut out all my elements, I decided making it a panda selfie shaker card was just the thing!

I cut a piece of striped Picture Perfect Party 6" by 6" Designer Series paper to 3-3/4" by 5" and adhered it to a 3-7/8" by 5-1/8" Lemon Lime Twist Card Stock mat and then onto a Berry Burst Card Stock card base. I cut a 2-5/8" square out of a 3-1/4" by 3-3/4" Whisper White piece using one of the Layering Squares Framelits. I stamped the party hat panda from "Party Pandas" in Basic Black Archival Ink onto the cut-out square and colored his hat with Lemon Lime Twist, Berry Burst, Peekaboo Peach, and Bermuda Bay Stampin' Write Markers. I adhered this piece directly to the card.

Then I adhered a 3" Window Sheet square to the back of the larger Whisper White piece. I framed the back side of the window outline with Foam Adhesive Strips and added a row of Stampin' Dimensionals at the bottom. I dropped a bunch of Metallics Sequins onto the panda and then adhered the Whisper White frame on top.

Finally, I cut a 1" strip of Lemon Lime Twist Card Stock and flagged the end with the Banner Triple Punch. I stamped the sentiment from the "Picture Perfect Birthday" set in Night of Navy and then adhered this to the card. 

I think this card is really cute and it was amazingly simple and fast, too!

Stars & Stripes Panda

#stampinup   #saleabration2018   #faithfulinkspirations   Today's card is the last of the cards we made with the "Party Pandas" stamp set at our Stampin' Up group's new catalog gathering--but it's probably not the last card I'll make with this set because it's adorable! We stamped the panda in Basic Black Archival Ink onto a Whisper White oval that had been cut with one of the Layering Ovals Framelits. We stamped just the balloon from the same stamp onto a Whisper White scrap and colored it with a Dark Bermuda Bay Stampin'  Blend. I love how these alcohol markers give such a smooth, blended finish. Then, we fussy cut the balloon and adhered it to the oval with a Stampin' Dimensional.

Next, we inked the Diagonal Stripe Background stamp with Lemon Lime Twist Ink and stamped it onto the front of a Lemon Lime Twist Card Stock card base. We adhered a 4" by 2" strip of the Bubbles & Fizz Designer Series Paper (also a FREE SAB item) and then a 4" 'by 2" strip of the same DSP--the stars and stripes!

We adhered the panda-oval to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals. We stamped the "happy birthday" sentiment in Basic Black Archival Ink onto a Whisper White scrap and punched it out with the Classic Label Punch. We punched another label in Bermuda Bay and adhered these to the card with Mini Stampin' Dimensionals. For a finishing touch, we tied a bow in a length of Whisper White Baker's Twine and adhered it to the base of the balloon with a Glue Dot.

Party Hat Panda

But he's sure a cute little guy, isn't he? The best thing about the "Party Panda" set (other than it being super cute) is that you can earn it for FREE with a qualifying order during Sale-a-Bration. Can you spot the other Sale-a-Bration product on this card? If you said, Bubbles & Fizz Designer Series Paper, you'd be correct!

This card is so easy to create. First, stamp the panda image in Basic Black Archival Ink onto a piece of Whisper White Card Stock. Color his party hat with Calypso Coral, Daffodil Delight, and Bermuda Bay Stampin' Write Markers. Then cut him out with one of the Layering Circles Framelits and adhere it to a scalloped Calypso Coral circle, also cut with a Layering Circle Framelit.

Next, emboss the front half of a Calypso Coral Card Stock card base with the Sparkle Embossing Folder. Adhere a 4" by 2" strip of Bubbles & Fizz DSP directly to the card front. Wrap a length of Whisper White Baker's Twine twice around the card and tie it into a cute bow. 

Adhere the panda piece to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals. Stamp the "happy birthday" sentiment from this set in Basic Black Archival Ink onto a Whisper White scrap and punch it out with the Classic Label Punch. Punch another label from Calypso Coral Card Stock. Adhere the sentiment to the Calypso Coral piece, just off-set, and snip the ends at a jaunty angle. Use a few Mini Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the sentiment piece to the card, tucking one end under the panda piece. Et voila! So stinkin' cute!
