Celebrating You!

#stampinup   #faithfulinkspirations   Our Stampin' Up group made some really cool cards at our new catalog gathering. The person who designed this series of cards using the "Perennial Birthday" stamp set and Petal Passion Designer Series Paper also showed us some fun fancy folds for cards. I'm glad to have some new ideas in my repertoire.

Before we get started, I want to remind you about the awesome Perennial Birthday Project Kit in the Occasions catalog. You get supplies to make 16 cards and a beautiful box to hold them in. I'd love to bring the stamp set and inks to your house so that you and your guests can put together this wonderful kit. Please contact me soon to schedule your event!

Once you've made all the kit cards, you can come back to my blog to make these stunning black and white cards! Today's card is no exception!

We started with a Whisper White Card Stock card base, scored, as usual at 4-1/4". The front of the card is scored at 2-1/8" and folded back on itself.

We stamped a sentiment and a floral sprig in Basic Black Archival Ink onto a Whisper White oval cut with a Layering Oval Framelit. We adhered that to a Basic Black scalloped oval cut with another Layering Oval Framelit.

We used the 1/2" Circle Punch to punch a hole on the folded edge of the flap (not shown). We threaded a length of 1/4" Whisper White Organza Ribbon through the hole and around the top flap, tying it into a knot. Then we adhered the left side of the oval to the card, on top of the ribbon, with two Stampin' Dimensionals. We added two 1/4" by 2-1/8" strips of Basic Black Card Stock to the bottom of the flap.

On the inside-facing part of the flap, we adhered another 1/4" by 2-1/8" strip of Basic Black Card Stock. And on the inside of the card (which is seen when the card is closed--and opened) we adhered a 5-1/2" by 2" strip of Petal Passion DSP.

This card is quick and easy, but the fancy fold and extra touches make it a special card to celebrate YOU!

A Floral Birthday

#stampinup   #faithfulinkspirations   When you think floral, I'm sure you think of pretty pastel colors. I know that I do. But today's card shows you that florals can be pretty--even in black and white. I'm using the "Perennial Birthday" stamp set and a sheet of the Petal Passion Designer Series Paper as I've done for the past couple of days. If you want florals in pretty pastel colors, buy the Perennial Birthday Project Kit along with the stamp set. That way you can have your pastels and your black and white!

We stamped "happy birthday," the large flower and leaf stamp in Basic Black Archival Ink onto a Whisper White Card Stock scalloped square that had been cut with one of the Layering Squares Framelits. We added some "sprinkles" by inking the dotty stamp with Smoky Slate Ink and stamping off once before stamping on the square. We adhered this to a just larger Basic Black Card Stock scalloped square, again cut with one of the Layering Squares Framelits.

The front flap of the Basic Black Card Stock card base has been trimmed by 1/4" inch--so that you can see the DSP on the inside of the card. On the front, we adhered a 4" by 3" piece of Petal Passion DSP. Then we used Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the stamped piece, and a Glue Dot to add a cute bow made from the 1/4" Whisper White Organza Ribbon.

Inside the card, we added a 4" by 3-1/2" piece of Whisper White for writing (or stamping) your sentiments. And we added a 1/4" by 4" strip of the same DSP as on the front.

This is an interesting fold for a card. It's nice to mix things up a little bit every once in a while, don't you think?

Another Perennial Birthday

#stampinup   #faithfulinkspirations   Today's card is another that we made at the Proverbial Stampers new catalog get together. It uses the "Perennial Birthday" stamp set that coordinates with the beautiful Perennial Birthday Project Kit on page 16 of the Occasions catalog. I'm really loving this stamp set paired with the Petal Passion Designer Series Paper. I think these black and white cards are simply stunning!

We started with a half sheet of Whisper White Card stock, scored at 4-1/4". We cut 2-1/8" off the top flap, just for a different look. We adhered a 5-1/4" by 2" strip of Petal Passion DSP to the top of the card and added a sweet bow made from the new 1/4" Whisper White Organza Ribbon. We stamped a sentiment from the "Perennial Birthday" stamp set in Basic Black Archival Ink on the bottom half of the card, along with some flowers, done in generation stamping, that is, we stamped the flower three times without reinking between. Then we adhered this to a half sheet of Basic Black Card Stock.
Easy-peasy, right? And so elegant. I like the variety of folds we used for this set of cards. Stay tuned tomorrow and Friday for two others.

Elegant Wishes

#stampinup   #faithfulinkspirations   Have you see the gorgeous Perennial Birthday Project kit on page 16 of the Occasions catalog? If not, I'll wait here while you click the link over on the right and take a look at it....It's awesome, right? It comes with supplies to make 16 cards, plus the pretty box and dividers that you'll use to sort your cards so you'll never forget a birthday.

Did you see the "Perennial Birthday" stamp set (sold separately) that goes with it? It's super-duper cute! After you've finished the kit, you can make other cards with the stamp set. I'll be showing you some beautiful cards that we made at the Proverbial Stampers new catalog gathering. These cards use the "Perennial Birthday" stamp set and the stunning Petal Passion Designer Series Paper found on page 23. Go ahead and look. I'll wait.

Although today's card is simply done in black and white, the Petal Passion DSP is perfect for coloring on--with Stampin' Write Markers, some ink and a Sponge Dauber or Sponge Brayer, or with our new Stampin' Blends alcohol markers.

This card starts with your usual half sheet of Basic White Card Stock, but instead of scoring it at the 4-1/4" mark, it's scored at 2-1/8" from each end. It's folded in like a gate. We adhered two 5-1/4" by 2" strips of Petal Passion DSP to the flaps of each of the gates. On the inside of the card, we stamped a sentiment along with some flowers and leaves from the "Perennial Birthday" set in Basic Black Archival Ink.
To make the belly band, we cut a 10" by 3/4" strip of Basic Black Card stock and wrapped it around the card for size before adhering the ends with Fast Fuse Adhesive. Then we stamped some flowers and leaves in Basic Black Archival Ink onto a Whisper White Card Stock circle cut with one of the Stitched Shapes Framelits. We punched two sets of leaves from Basic Black Card stock with the Leaf Punch and adhered them to the back of the circle. We stamped another flower onto a Whisper White scrap and fussy cut it before using a Stampin' Dimensional to adhere it to the top of the circle. This elegant card could be used for a birthday or a wedding!
