Sparkly Silent Night

#stampinup   Today is the last day of my projects for the December Splitcoast Stampers Creative Crew Challenge-- and it's my last round (for now) on the Creative Crew. I've really enjoyed my time on the Crew, but it's time to step down and let some other folks have the fun of creating projects to inspire you.

The Crew was challenged to use Typeset Specialty Series Paper to make a neutral Christmas card. Well, that's right in my wheelhouse because I LOVE this DSP!!!  I knew it would be great paired with Very Vanilla, some gold glitter and glimmer, and the "Wonderland" set.

I didn't want to use Basic Black because I wanted a softer image, so I stamped the trees and sentiment in Early Espresso ink right onto the Typeset DSP. I mounted the DSP onto some Gold Glimmer Paper and then I mounted that onto another piece of Typeset DSP. I used Fast Fuse Adhesive because it sticks like crazy to glimmer paper!

I tied a length of Gold Glitter Ribbon around the elements before adhering them with Stampin' Dimensionals to a Very Vanilla card base.

Finally, I added some sequins from the Metallic Sequins Assortment with the marvelous Fine-Tip Glue Pen. I love this neutral, but bling-y, card!!

Retro Santa

#stampinup   Today's offering is the third of my four projects made for the Splitcoast Stampers Creative Crew challenge. We were challenged to use our favorite ribbon in our favorite way. I LOVE all the 1/4" cotton ribbons that Stampin' Up is currently carrying! I'm so glad they carried over. My favorite way to use ribbon is to tie it around an element of a card--like this banner!

I started by cutting a 2" strip of Real Red Card Stock and running it through the Big Shot with the Softly Falling Embossing Folder. Then I flagged the end with the Banner Triple Punch. Next, I cut a 1.5" strip of Home for Christmas Designer Series Paper and flagged its end with the Banner Triple Punch. You know, when I first saw the Banner Triple Punch I didn't think I needed it, but it's so versatile-- it's like getting three punches in one!! And I use it all. the. time. I adhered the DSP banner to the card stock banner and then tied on a length of Real Red 1/4" Cotton Ribbon.


Next I fussy cut a Santa and his sack of toys from another sheet of the Home for Christmas DSP. I also used the 2.5" Circle Punch to punch a coordinating musical piece from yet another Home for Christmas DSP!

I stamped a sentiment from the "Lots of Joy" stamp set in Real Red onto a Very Vanilla scrap and punched it out with the 1-3/8" Circle Punch. I adhered this to yet another circle of Mossy Meadow that I punched out with the 2" Circle Punch.

I had an Early Espresso card base on my desk that I'd thought about using for another project, but had abandoned that idea. I put all my elements onto the card base and was pleasantly surprised by how wonderfully retro the pieces were when all pulled together on Early Espresso. I embossed the front of the card base with the Stylish Stripes Embossing Folder before adhering all the elements. Santa and the sentiment are adhered with Stampin' Dimensionals. The other elements are adhered directly to the card base with Snail Adhesive.

Finally, I added a few random Basic Rhinestones to finish the card.

Seasonal Gift Card Holder.

#stampinup  Today I'm sharing the second of four projects I created for the Splitcoast Stampers Creative Crew December challenge. Our task was to create a scrapbook page about your favorite person or a gift for your favorite person. I chose to create a gift--rather, a gift card holder!

I saw this amazing idea on Patty Bennett's blog and I think she got the idea from her friend Cindee Wilkinson.  It's a brilliant idea and so easy to pull off.

I started with two coordinating sheets of Season of Cheer Designer Series Paper and ran them through the Big Shot with the Envelope Liner Framelits. I adhered them together with some Season of Cheer Washi Tape. I folded down the front flap and adhered it to the card with Snail Adhesive. Then, I ran a length of Whisper White Organza Ribbon around the card and under the flap and tied it into a festive bow.

Next, I stamped the Christmas sentiment from the "Among the Branches" stamp set in Real Red onto a Whisper White scrap and punched it out with the 2" Circle Punch. I punched a scrap of Mossy Meadow card stock with the 2-3/8" Scallop Circle Punch and adhered the sentiment onto it with Snail Adhesive.  I attached the label to the gift card holder with Stampin' Dimensionals.

Winter Thank You Card

#stampinup   Well, it's my last month on the Splitcoast Stampers Creative Crew. I've enjoyed my time and I've been inspired to step up my game a bit to create and show inspiring projects.  Over the next 4 days, I'll be sharing my December projects with you.

For our holiday focused project, our challenge was to make a thank you card showcasing our favorite fun fold. I've always really like the joy fold card. Please click on the link to go to the SCS tutorial. It's a really easy fold and makes a great card.

I started with a couple of coordinating sheets of Season of Cheer Designer Series Paper. I love the Soft Sky and Mossy Meadow combination--plus the sheets I chose are winter scenes and are perfect for a winter thank you!

My card base is a 4-1/4" x 8-1/2" piece of Mossy Meadow card stock. I adhered two pieces of the Season of Cheer DSP according to the instructions in the tutorial. The inner card is a 3" x 8" piece of Soft Sky card stock. On the outside, I stamped a sentiment from the "One Big Meaning" stamp set in Mossy Meadow. I added the evergreen tree from the "Festival of Trees" stamp set in Mossy Meadow. On the inside, I stamped another evergreen and another sentiment from the "One Big Meaning" set. On both the inside and outside, I added a strip of Night of Navy striped Washi Tape from the Watercolor Wishes card kit--even after making ALL the cards in the kit, I have plenty of this great washi tape leftover!!

To hold the card closed, I stamped the same evergreen tree in Mossy Meadow onto a scrap of Mossy Meadow card stock and punched it out with the Tree Punch. I adhered the tree to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals.

Here's the outside of the card, closed. See how the Soft Sky piece tucks under the evergreen?
