Tropical Gratitude

#stampinup   #faithfulinkspirations   The weather here in central Maryland is finally going to turn warmer at the end of this week. Yesterday and today, the temperature just squeaked into the 60's. By Friday, it's going to be well into the 80's. It's going to be downright tropical, I tell ya! So, how about a card that shows gratitude for the warmer weather and for someone special in your life? Take a look at this one that uses the "Timeless Tropical" and "Country Home" stamp set, both of which are carrying over into the new catalog.

I used the Stamparatus to make the two-colored palm trees. First, I inked up the stamp with Shaded Spruce Ink. I used a baby wipe to wipe off the tree trunks and stamped just the palm fronds onto a 2-3/4" by 3-1/2" Whisper White rectangle. Then, I cleaned the stamp and inked it in Sahara Sand Ink. I used a baby wipe to wipe the Shaded Spruce Ink off the palm fronds. Since the Stamparatus makes it easy to stamp the same image over and over, this two-color image was a breeze to make!

Next, I embossed a 4" by 5-1/4" Balmy Blue Card Stock mat with the Eyelet Lace Embossing Folder (retiring). I adhered the stamped rectangle directly onto this. Then I wrapped a length of Magnolia Lane Linen Ribbon (retiring) around everything before adhering it to a Thick Whisper White Card Stock card base.

I stamped a sentiment from the "Country Home" stamp set in Shaded Spruce Ink onto Whisper White Card Stock and punched it out with the Pretty Label Punch (retiring). I cut a circle from Shaded Spruce Card Stock with the smallest circle from the Stitched Shapes Dies. I adhered the stamped label to the circle and then used Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the sentiment piece to the card.

All are made with products from the Tropical Oasis Suite on pages 38 through 40 in the January-to-June mini catalog. These cards feature the "Timeless Tropical" stamp set and coordinating In The Tropics Dies. While both these products will be carrying over to the new catalog, they will not be offered as a bundle. So if you want them, get them before June 3rd--at a 10% discount!

The cards also feature the lovely Tropical Oasis Designer Series Paper, which will be retiring on June 2--but it's only available while supplies last. Look at these gorgeous cards!

The Aloha card has a 4" by 5-1/4" piece of Tropical Oasis DSP (retiring) on an Old Olive Card Stock card base. A piece of Petal Pink Card Stock was embossed with the Coastal Weave Embossing Folder (retiring) and then cut with one of the Stitched So Sweetly Dies. The pineapple top and Real Red flowers are cut with the In The Tropics Dies. A Champagne Rhinestone is popped into the center of each flower. So cute!

The middle card has a 3-3/4" by 5" piece of Tropical Oasis DSP (retiring) adhered to a 4" by 5-1/4" Soft Suede mat. A length of Real Red Country Club Twine (retiring) is wrapped around this before being adhered to a Mint Macaron Card Stock card base. I stamped a sentiment from the "Timeless Tropical" stamp set in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink onto Mint Macaron Card Stock and cut it out with one of the Stitched So Sweetly Dies. I love this piece of the DSP!!

The final card is so pretty with its 3-3/4" by 5" piece of Tropical Oasis DSP (retiring) adhered to a 4" by 5-1/4" Pear Pizzazz mat. A length of Petal Pink Metallic-Edge Ribbon (retiring) is wrapped around before being adhered to a Pool Party Card Stock card base. I stamped a sentiment from the "Timeless Tropical" stamp set in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink onto Whisper White Card Stock and cut it out with one of the Stitched So Sweetly Dies.I tucked a pineapple top cut from Pear Pizzazz Card Stock behind the sentiment piece before adhering it to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals. I stamped a flower in Tuxedo Black onto Whisper White and Colored it with a Light Calypso Coral Stampin' Blend before cutting it out with one of the In The Tropics Dies. I adhered this to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals and popped a Champagne Rhinestone is into the center.

You Deserve It!

#stampinup   #faithfulinkspirations   #ThoughtfulThursday   The Tropical Oasis Suite on pages 38 through 40 in the January-to-June Mini Catalog has such wonderfully vibrant, tropical colors! But this card that I received from Pam Sines during a card swap went in a different direction. And I think I love it. Pam used more muted colors and turned the card into a restful scene. And how thoughtful is it to tell someone that they should rest and relax because they deserve it?!

Pam started by embossing a 4" by 5-1/4" Balmy Blue Card Stock panel with the Eyelet Lace Embossing Folder. She adhered that to a Thick Whisper White Card Stock card base. Next, she stamped the palm trees from the "Timeless Tropical" set in Shaded Spruce and Sahara Sand Inks onto a 2-3/4" by 3-1/2" Whisper White rectangle and adhered it directly to the card. 

She used Sahara Sand Ink to stamp the sentiment onto Whisper White Card Stock and punched it out with the Pretty Label Punch. She punched another pretty label from Sparkle Glimmer Paper and cut it in half, lengthwise. She adhered her stamped label to this piece and then adhered the assembled sentiment piece to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals.

For a finishing touch, Pam tied a pretty bow from Magnolia Lane Linen Ribbon and adhered it to the card with a Mini Glue Dot. So pretty and peaceful!
