This week's Fab Friday theme is a color challenge--and there are FIVE colors in it--all the new In Colors! I usually have trouble using so many colors, but I think I made it work this time.
If you're a regular reader of my blog, you know that I really don't like to color, but the "This Little Piggy" stamp set needs to be colored (or paper-pieced--I'll try that soon). I always forget that Stampin' Up's Shimmery White Paper is great for using Blender Pens with ink to color images. But this time I remembered!
So, I started by stamping the pig in Basic Black Archival Ink onto a piece of Shimmery White Paper. Then I squeezed some ink into the lid of a Powder Pink in pad and used a Blender Pen to color the pig. I used the same method to color the flower in Berry Burst and Lemon Lime Twist and to color the grass in Tranquil Tide. I cut out the image with an oval Stitched Shapes Framelit. I adhered half a Delicate White Doily and half a gold Metallic Foil Doily to this piece.
To complete the challenge, I needed to add some Fresh Fig to the card, so I used a 3-7/8" by 5" mat of Fresh Fig Card Stock and a some Fresh Fig 1/8" Sheer Ribbon. I added a 3-3/4" by 5-1/8" Whisper White panel to the Fresh Fig mat and built my design from there. I added a strip of Tranquil Tide Designer Series Paper from the Delightful Daisy DSP pack and tied on a length of the Fresh Fig Ribbon before adhering everything to a Thick Whisper White Card Stock Card base. Finally, I adhered the piggy to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals.
This was a fun challenge--I'm going to plan to play along with the Fab Friday bunch more often!
