Creation Station: Celebrations of the Heart

#stampinup   #creationstation   #faithfulinkspirations   How do you like our February 2018 banner? Isn't it sweet?! Liz Price, one of our design team members and Stampin' Up Artisan, created the banner for this month. She's so talented!

This month our theme is "Celebrations of the Heart, so I'll be showing you a few cute projects for Valentine's Day.

I have twins away at college and I'm always looking for an excuse to send them something in the mail. What better time to tell them that I love them and that I'm thinking of them than Valentine's Day?! I'm in love with the Painted with Love suite of products--especially the Specialty Designer Series Paper, so I went a little wild with my creations. I made one fancy set for my daughter and one not so fancy set for my son.

Let's start with the not so fancy set. I started by stamping the striped heart from the "Heart Happiness" stamp set onto Whisper White--one in Powder Pink Ink and one in Berry Burst. I cut out the hearts with the matching Lots to Love Box Framelits Dies.

Next, I stamped the "for you" sentiment from the "Happy Wishes" Sale-a-Bration set in Rich Razzleberry Ink onto a 3-3/4" by 5" Whisper White Panel. I adhered this to a 3-7/8" by 5-1/8" Powder Pink Mat. Then I added a 1" by 5" strip of Painted with Love Specialty DSP, a half Gold Foil Doily, the two hearts, and a length of 1/4" Organza Ribbon, before adhering everything to a Rich Razzleberry Card Stock Card Base.
I adhered a 3-7/8" by 5-1/4" Powder Pink mat to the inside of the card and topped it with a 3-3/4" by 5" Whisper White panel on which I stamped a row of hearts from the "Heart Happiness" set in Powder Pink.

I used the Lots to Love Box Framelits Dies to make a matching box from Rich Razzleberry Card Stock and decorated it with the same theme as the card--except I used the gorgeous Calypso Coral Shimmer Ribbon that you can earn for FREE during Sale-a-Bration!
Here's a closer look at the box. I stamped the "happy valentine's day" sentiment from the "Teeny Tiny Wishes" stamp set in Rich Razzleberry onto a Whisper White scrap and punched it out with the Classic Label Punch.
Here's the complete set--along with a stamped envelope.
As I mentioned, the set I made for my daughter is a little fancier. This one starts with a Powder Pink Card Stock card base and a Calypso Coral Card Stock mat. I added another gorgeous piece of the Painted with Love DSP. I wrapped a length of the SAB Calypso Coral Shimmer Ribbon around the mat before adhering it to the card base.
For the inside of the card, I added a 3-7/8" by 5-1/8" Calypso Coral Card Stock mat topped with a 3-3/4" by 5" Whisper White Panel.  I stamped the open heart stamp, with the flower border from "Heart Happiness" set in Powder Pink.

Here's a detail of the card's focal element.
I stamped the polka dotted heart from the "Heart Happiness" set onto Whisper White Card stock--one in Calypso Coral and one in Powder Pink. Because I don't have the matching framelits, I fussy cut these hearts. I punched a Pretty Label from a piece of Gold Foil and used the heart from the Wood Crate Framelits to cut a Gold Glimmer Paper heart. I stamped the "for you" sentiment from the "Wood Words" stamp set in Calypso Coral onto a Whisper White scrap and cut it out with the Wood Crate label framelit. I added some Gold Thread, a piece of Delicate White Doily, and a Blushing Bride heart Enamel Shape.

And then I used the Lots to Love Box Framelits Dies to make a matching box from a sheet of Painted with Love DSP.
Instead of using the polka dotted stamp from "Heart Happiness," I used the open heart stamp, with the flower border. I stamped this in Powder Pink onto a Whisper White Card Stock and fussy cut it. I used a Powder Pink Stampin' Write Marker to color the words "love" and "you" from the SAB "Happy Wishes" set. I cut a banner out of a Gold Foil Sheet with one of the Lots to Love Box Framelits Dies. The Gold Glimmer Paper hearts are also cut with dies from the same framelit set.
And here's the complete ensemble, along with a stamped envelope.
I know my kiddos will love these--if not for the time and attention to detail that I took to make these for them, then for the candy and gift cards that will go inside!!
