The Nature's Poem Designer Series Paper is part of the Nature's Poem Suite of Products on pages 142-144 of Stampin' Up's Annual Catalog. I like to use DSP to help me establish color combinations for cards. Frankly, I never would have put Blackberry Bliss and Grapefruit Grove together myself. Thank goodness, the fine folks at Stampin' Up have a better color vision than I do!
Today's card is a little bit stepped up from yesterday's, but it still lets the DSP take the lead. I started by adhering a 3-3/4" by 5" piece of Nature's Poem DSP to a 3-7/8" by 5-1/8" Grapefruit Grove Card Stock mat. I adhered a strip of striped Blackberry Bliss DSP (the flip side of the leaves piece) down the side. I wrapped two lengths of Whisper White Baker's Twine, slightly offset, around this piece and then adhered everything to a Blackberry Bliss Card Stock card base.
I stamped the same "thinking of you" sentiment from the "Rooted in Nature" stamp set that I'm using all week in Blackberry Bliss Ink onto Whisper White Card Stock. I set the ink with my Heat Tool and then cut it out with one of the Stitched Shapes Framelits. I adhered it to a Grapefruit Grove Card Stock scalloped oval that I cut with one of the Layering Ovals Framelits. I adhered this piece to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals.
For a cute finishing touch, I stamped the leaf from the "Rooted in Nature" set in Grapefruit Grove Ink onto Vellum Card Stock and set it with my Heat Tool. (Be careful not to scorch the vellum!) I cut this out with the matching Nature's Root Framelit and adhered it to the card with a strategically placed Glue Dot.
Tomorrow I'm going to step it up several notches and show you a card with loads and loads of details. I hope you'll come back and see it!
