Classic 80's Garage

#stampinup   #faithfulinkspirations   If it's Monday, I must be showing a continuing stamp set. That's right! One of my favorite stamp sets from the Occasions Catalog, "Geared Up Garage," is continuing into the 2019-2020 Annual Catalog. The matching Garage Gears Dies are continuing, too--but these items won't be available as a bundle in the new catalog. So, if they're on your wish list--along with the Classic Garage 6" by 6" Designer Series Paper--then you need to order them by June 3rd!

Here's a card that we made at the Proverbial Stampers & Friends get-together. It uses one of my favorite "classic," 1980's-era color combinations: Real Red, Basic Black, and Whisper White.

We stamped the car from the "Geared Up Garage" stamp set in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink onto a 3-3/4" by 5" Whisper White Card Stock Panel. We adhered that to the top of a 3-7/8" by 5-1/8" Basic Black Card Stock mat.

Next, we ran a 3-3/4" 2-1/2" piece of Silver Foil through the Big Shot (retiring)* with the Tufted Embossing Folder. We adhered that to the bottom of the Whisper White panel. We then cut a chevron out a a Foil Sheet using one of the Garage Gears Dies. We cut a Real Read Card Stock backing for the chevron. We also stamped the "best dad" sentiment in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink onto a Whisper White scrap and cut it out with its matching die.  We adhered all these pieces together.

To finish the card, we wrapped a length of Whisper White Classic Weave Ribbon (retiring) around the seam of the card and adhered everything to a Real Red Card Stock card base. We added two Metallic Pearls to the ribbon and used Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the sentiment assembly to the card. Pretty cool, eh?
