Creation Station: Sweet Treat Packages

Happy Easter everyone! What a good time for giving little gifts in little paper packages. My twins are off at college and I made them some sweet boxes with Easter treats inside. These boxes are super simple to make.  I learned how to make them from my Stampin' Up sideline, Barb Reed, aka The Wexford Stamper. Barb is the Queen of paper packaging! I'll link you to her YouTube video at the end of my post, but first let me share my spring time treat boxes with you!

I made a stack of these sweet treat boxes using the Fine Art Floral Designer Series Paper--and one using the Well Suited DSP. Aren't they just the sweetest?!

Each box uses one sheet of card stock, scored at 1/2", 2-1/2", 8-1/2", and 10-1/2" on the long side and at 2", 4", 6", and 8" on the short side. Here's the template (fold along the solid lines, cut along the dashed lines, remove the Xed sections).

And here's how it looks with cuts and beveled edges.

You'll need four 5-7/8" by 1-7/8" pieces of DSP for each box. PROTIP: Remember which order they go in (#askmehowiknow)! Adhere the DSP as in the next picture. You can also add a strip of Tear & Tape at this point.

Next, assemble your box. It's easier if you assemble it flat by folding in the two sides, one at at time, like this.

Then, at each end of the box, fold in the two side flaps and tuck in the lid, like this.

I made a label for each box using sentiments from the "Pretty Perennials" stamp set and decorated each label with a floral arrangement stamped using the "Art Gallery" stamp set. The flowers and label are all stamped on Basic White Card Stock. I stamped each arrangement twice--once in Mossy Meadow Ink, and once with just the flowers, done with two-step stamping. I cut each out with the coordinating Floral Gallery die. I used my Paper Snips to the cut off the flowers and popped them up on the stem using Stampin' Dimensionals. I matched the sentiments and flowers to the colors in the DSP. I also matched the cardstock for each box to the DSP. (See the thumbnails below for the list of colors.) I used a Stitched Rectangle Die to cut the label.

I adhered the label to the box with Stampin' Dimensionals and tied a length of Fine Art Ribbon around. (I used the Well Suited Twine for the masculine box). I slipped the floral piece underneath the ribbon and adhered it to the label with Stampin' Dimensionals.

To finish the Fine Art boxes, I added three Gold Glitter Enamel Dots. I used a couple of blue sequins from the Artistry Blooms sequins on the masculine box.
