A Grateful Hello

I started with a Night of Navy card base that I overlaid a panel of Botanical Gardens Designer Series Vellum that's one of the FREE items available with a qualifying order. I adhered the vellum to the card with Glue Dots, strategically placed behind the flowers and behind the sentiment panel.

Next, I stamped "hello" in Night of Navy onto a 3-3/4"x2-1/4" piece of Whisper White. I pierced the edge of the panel using the Updated Essentials Piercing Template and the Paper-Piercing Tool.

I cut a 1/4" strip of Blushing Bride Glimmer Paper and snipped the end. I cut a 3/4" piece of Whisper White and stamped the "my friend" sentiment in Melon Mambo before flagging the end with the Hexagon Punch.

Next, I stamped the flower trio from the "Grateful Bunch" stamp set in Melon Mambo onto Whisper White and punched them out with the Blossom Bunch Punch. I punched some Melon Mambo and Pink Pirouette flowers with the same punch. Then I randomly adhered the flowers to the card, overlapping and layering them until I like what I saw. I popped a Basic Pearl Embellishment onto the center of the stamped flowers.

Hello, Birthday Boy

#stampinup   #saleabration2016   I'm in love with the "Hello" stamp set in the Sale-a-Bration brochure! I love that big, bold "hello" stamp. I want to use it a lot, before it's no longer available. It's one of the limited-time SAB sets--only available until February 15 {sad face, with tear}--as Siri would say.

I started a Pinterest board for this stamp set and pinned some of my favorite cards. I was really struck by this card by Breelin Renwick. I love the bold, bright Cucumber Crush-Night of Navy color combination on bright Whisper White! I also love the way Breelin fussy cut the "hello." My card isn't exactly a CASE of Breelin's card, but it's heavily inspired by it!!!

I embossed a Whisper White panel with the new "Confetti" embossing folder and adhered it to a Cucumber Crush mat and then onto a Night of Navy card base. I cut a 4"x2" piece of Cherry on Top 6"x6" Designer Series Paper and flagged it with the Banner Triple Punch. I cut a 4"x1.5" piece of Night of Navy card stock and flagged it with the Banner Triple Punch.

I stamped the "birthday boy" sentiment in Cucumber Crush onto a 3/4"x4" piece of Whisper White and flagged the ends with the Hexagon Punch. The "hello" is stamped in Night of Navy onto Thick Whisper White card stock and then cut out with my Paper Snips Scissors. I adhered "hello" to the card with the Fine-Tip Glue Pen.

Hello (No, It's Not Adele)

#stampinup   #saleabration2016   One of my favorite stamp sets in the Sale-a-Bration brochure is "Hello." It's got a big, bold HELLO stamp and can be used for a birthday card or an any occasion card. It's just so stinkin' cute. And it's only available during the first 6 weeks of Sale-a-Bration: until February 15 and then it will be gone forever!! I thought this set would be perfect to use for this week's Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge.



I chose my color scheme based on the fabulous It's My Party 12"x12" Designer Series Paper stack. As you can see, this DSP stack isn't only for birthdays! I started with a panel that had Melon Mambo and Crushed Curry dots and built my card from there. I cut a 1" strip of the DSP with Melon Mambo stars and a 1/2" strip of the DSP with Crushed Curry pluses. I adhered these pieces onto a Crushed Curry mat and then onto a Melon Mambo card base.

Next, I stamped "hello" in Melon Mambo and "my friend" in Crushed Curry onto a Whisper White piece and cut it out with one of the circles from the Circles Framelits Collection. I cut two stars from the Stars Framelits collection--one from Melon Mambo card stock and one from the Crushed Curry DSP.

I finished the card by adding a few Basic Rhinestones. This card was so quick and easy to pull together. And it's so pretty, too! (At least I think so!!)

Variations on a Theme

When I was thinking about yesterday's card (yeah, I think about stamping all day....), I thought it might be nice to do one in grunge and one in vintage (which my DD thinks is just grunge with lighter colors).

Today I'm using another sheet of the Soho Subway Designer Series Paper that I love. The DSP has an aged feel to it, so I sponged some Soft Suede onto the Tea Lace Paper Doily to make it have a more vintage look--and so its bright white didn't glare off the card. I added a medallion cut from Early Espresso Core'dinations Specialty Paper (retiring) that I sanded a bit to age it. The sentiment is from the "Hello, Lovely" set (retiring). I stamped it in Early Espresso onto Very Vanilla and then fussy cut it right against the edge of the stamped image.
