Can you believe that it's November already?! I surely cannot! In some ways this year has flown by, in other ways, it seems like it's been crawling.  I know this pandemic has been tough, but I'm the kind of person who likes to count her blessings and see the good in a difficult situation. As I'm typing this, I see my neighbors setting up for a socially distance Halloween. Everyone is setting up table at the end of their driveways. It reminds me that we're all in this together and that we're all trying to make the best of a difficult situation. I hope and pray that you and your families are safe and healthy and I hope you, too, can count your blessings and see the good.

 And speaking of good, let's get on with the stamping! Our Creation Station theme for November is “The Great Outdoors.” Our challenge is to create a project feature nature in a monochromatic color palette. I cheated a little and added some subtle colors, but I think my project fits the bill. I was thinking about this card all week and hoping that it would turn out the way I envisioned it. As always, it took a little bit of creative experimentation to get it just right--but that's the fun of the creative process. Here's my nature inspired card.

I wanted to do a simple fun fold, so I started with a 4-1/4 by 5-1/2" piece of Gray Granite Card Stock. This is a half sheet, cut lengthwise. Math-in-my-head isn't my forte, so it took me a couple of tries to get the scoring right. Honestly, if I'd used a piece of printer paper I wouldn't have wasted a half sheet of card stock. Whatever--I make the mistakes so you don't have to. I scored the card base at 2-3/4" at each end so that the sides fold in and meet at the middle. I cut two 2-3/8" by 4" pieces of Basic Gray Card Stock and two 2-1/4" by 3-3/4" pieces of Whisper White Card Stock.

I used the "Waterfront" stamp set to create a scene on each piece of Whisper White Card Stock. The mountains are stamped in Smoky Slate Ink--some full strength, some stamped off once. I stamped the trees in Basic Gray and Mossy Meadow Inks--again, some full strength, some stamped off once. I sponged some Seaside Spray Ink for the sky and sponged Mossy Meadow Ink among and between the trees.

I made a 1" belly band from a sheet of In Good Taste Designer Series Paper and a length of Mossy Meadow Diagonal Stripe Ribbon. PROTIP: I used a few Mini Glue Dots to adhere the ribbon to the belly band.

I stamped a sentiment from the "Merry Moose" stamp set in Basic Gray Ink and cut it out with one of the Stitched Shapes Dies. I adhered this to a Basic Gray Card Stock scalloped circle that I cut with one of the Layering Circles Dies. I punched a hole in the top of the tag and threaded on of the Glitter Star Ornaments through and tied this onto the belly band.

Inside the card, I adhered a 4" by 5-1/4" Basic Gray Card Stock mat. I stamped another nature scene onto a 3-3/4" by 5" Whisper White Card Stock Panel. I used the "Merry Moose" set to stamp some Smoky Slate and Mossy Meadow trees. I also stamped the moose silhouette in Basic Gray. I added a sentiment from the "Tag Buffet" set, also in Basic Gray Ink. Then I lightly sponged on some Smoky Slate and Mossy Meadow Ink. I adhered this to the Basic Gray mat.

I used the Moose Punch to punch a moose from Basic Gray card stock and used a Sponge Dauber to sponge on some Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint. When that dried, I used two Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the moose to the inside of the card. I like the way the stamped moose gives the punched moose a little shadow.

Merry Christ-Moose

#stampinup   #faithfulinkspirations  I was super excited to see that the "Merry Moose" stamp set and Moose Punch carried over from last year to this year's August-to-December Mini Catalog! And the bundle carried over, too. I love that moose! I don't know why, but I just really love him. So, of course, I had to use him for one of the cards I designed for my Christmas card stamp-a-stack sessions. It turned out so cute, don't you think?!

I love the earthy colors--not your traditional Christmas colors--but they work. I started with a Crumb Cake Card Stock card base. Then I stamped the trees from the "Merry Moose" set in Pretty Peacock Ink onto a 3-3/4" by 5" Pretty Peacock Card Stock panel. I adhered this to a 4" by 5-1/4" Early Espresso mat.* I wrapped a couple of lengths of Braided Linen Trim around these pieces before adhering them to the card base.

Next, I inked up the Buffalo Check Background stamp in Real Red Ink and stamped it onto a quarter sheet of Whisper White Card Stock. I was able to cut this into four pieces for four cards! I adhered this piece to the card, over top the linen trim, with Stampin' Dimensionals.

I stamped the moose in Early Espresso Ink onto Crumb Cake Card Stock and punched him out with the Moose Punch. I adhered him to the card with regular and Mini Stampin' Dimensionals.

*Before I adhered the Early Espresso mat to the card, I cut a stitched circle from the center with one of the Stitched Shapes Dies. I stamped a sentiment from the "Merry Moose" set in Early Espresso Ink onto Crumb Cake Card Stock and cut it out with one of the Stitched Nested Labels Dies. I adhered the label directly to the circle and then used Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere everything to the card. 

For a finishing touch, I added three Clear Epoxy Drops to the card. How cute is this??

Cozy Christmas

#stampinup   #faithfulinkspirations   #Christmas   I really love the "Merry Moose" stamp set and matching punch in the Holiday Catalog. I think the moose is adorable! I like that you can make a cutesy card with the set (like this one I posted a while back) and that you can also make a more elegant card, like today's card. I have to admit that I started with the Stampin' Up home office's design that's in the Holiday Catalog, but I put my own twist on it!

I started by stamping both sizes of trees from the "Merry Moose" set in Smoky Slate and Basic Gray Inks--some stamped off once--onto a 3-3/4" by 5" Whisper White Card Stock mat.  I adhered this to a 4" by 5-1/4" Smoky Slate Card Stock mat and then onto a Thick Whisper White Card Stock card base.

Next, I stamped one of of the sentiments in Smoky Slate Ink onto Whisper White Card Stock and cut it out with a Stitched Rectangle Die. I adhered a length of Gray Granite Textured Weave Ribbon to the back and then adhered the label to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals.

I stamped the outline moose image in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink onto Whisper White Card Stock. I colored him with a combination of Light and Dark Crumb Cake Stampin' Blends and then I punched him out with the Moose Punch. I adhered the moose to the card with three Stampin' Dimensionals, placed from stem to stern (head to tail).

To finish the card with a little bling--you know I had to!--I added one Clear Epoxy Droplet to the label.
