Celebrate in Style

#stampinup   #faithfulinkspirations   I can't believe my "baby" just turned 24 years old! Well, he's not my baby, baby. I have twins who are younger than he is--but he's my first baby. It's hard to believe that not-so-little baby has turned into a kind-hearted, funny, thoughtful man. Man. He's a man! Wow. When did that happen?

We celebrated by taking him to his favorite Indian restaurant where we stuffed ourselves silly. We had a nice time, even though we missed his siblings. It's kind of nice to socialize with our grown child. But he's still my baby!

Of course, I had to make a card for him. And, of course, I had to use the "Truly Tailored" stamp set and coordinating True Gentleman Designer Series Paper. Since my son has a mustache (and a beard), I thought this was the perfect sentiment to use on his card.

I stamped the sentiment in Night of Navy Ink onto Very Vanilla Card Stock and cut it out with one of the Stitched Shapes Framelits. I adhered that to a scalloped Night of Navy Square that I cut with one of the Layering Squares Framelits.  Next, I adhered a 3-3/4" by 5" Very Vanilla panel to a 4" by 5-1/4" Tranquil Tide mat.  I added two 1-1/2" by 3-3/4" strips of True Gentleman DSP to the Very Vanilla panel before I wrapped it with a length of Crumb Cake Classic Weave Ribbon. I adhered everything to a Night of Navy Card Stock card base and adhered the sentiment piece to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals.

I also stamped the inside of the card, which I rarely do, but the "Truly Tailored" set has so many great images I couldn't help myself!

I used the same 3-3/4" by 5" Very Vanilla panel and 4" by 5-1/4" Tranquil Tide mat combo that I used on the outside. I stamped the sentiment in Night of Navy Ink and the bow tie in Tranquil Tide Ink. Such a nice card for a guy and such a great stamp set!!

A Classy Guy

#stampinup   #faithfulinkspirations   This past weekend I had a birthday card stamp-a-stack and we had a great time putting together some fun cards. All of them, except today's card, have already been featured on my blog. I really love today's card--I love the True Gentleman Suite of products in the Occasions Catalog and I love the clean design of this card. Each guest made two of these "blue" cards and two "brown" cards like this one I previously shared. My guests chose their own sentiments for their cards.

I started with a 3-3/4" by 3" piece of the True Gentleman Designer Series Paper for the bottom and a 3-3/4" by 2" coordinating piece of the same DSP for the top. I adhered these to a 3-7/8" by 5-1/8" Crumb Cake Card Stock mat. I wrapped a length of Crumb Cake Classic Weave Ribbon around the pieces where they meet and then adhered everything to a Thick Very Vanilla Card Stock card base. I love this ribbon--it's so easy to work with, it ties and lays nicely, and it feels silky smooth. It also comes in Soft Sky and Whisper White.

Next, I stamped one of the sentiments from the "Truly Tailored" stamp set in Night of Navy onto a Very Vanilla scrap and punched it out with the Tailored Tag Punch. I punched another tag from Night of Navy Card Stock. I trimmed down the Very Vanilla piece, adhered it to the Night of Navy tag, and then used Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere it to the card.

What a great card for the guys in your life. And you can save 10% when you purchase the Truly Tailored Bundle and get the stamp set and the punch! Get the bundle, the True Gentleman DSP, and either the coordinating Night of Navy Corduroy Ribbon or True Gentleman Buttons and you'll have reached the $50 mark to earn a FREE Sale-a-Bration item! One For The Guys

#stampinup   #faithfulinkspirations   I'm in the midst of designing birthday cards for my upcoming stamp-a-stack. I promised I would do one card specifically for the men. What better suite to use than the True Gentleman Suite?! I love the colors and whimsical patterns in the True Gentleman Designer Series Paper and I love the hexagonal sentiments in the "Truly Tailored" stamp set. Today's card is a prototype--it's not the exact card we'll be making during the stamp-a-stack. I've got some additional supplies on order for that!!
This card is super easy to make because the DSP does most of the work for you! I started with a 3-7/8" by 5-1/8" Crumb Cake Card Stock mat. I adhered a 3-3/4" by 2" piece of the True Gentlemen DSP to the top of the mat and a 3-3/4" by 3" piece of the same DSP to the bottom. I also adhered 3-3/4" by 1/2" strip of the same DSP where the two large DSP pieces meet. Then I adhered everything to a Very Vanilla Card Stock card base.

Next, I stamped one of the sentiments from the "Truly Tailored" stamp set in Chocolate Chip ink onto a Very Vanilla scrap. I punched this out with the Tailored Tag punch--just to eliminate extra card stock before I trimmed this piece with my Paper Snips. I punched a Chocolate Chip Card Stock scrap with the Tailored Tag Punch and adhered the Very Vanilla piece on top. I added four Stampin' Dimensionals to the back of this piece, wound a length of Linen Thread around my fingers, and stuck the thread to the back side of the tag before adhering everything to the card.
This card looks sharp!! It's perfect for the man in your life!

You're a Fox!

#stampinup   #faithfulinkspirations   Oh my goodness! I just realized this is my 1000th blog post! Woot! Let's keep going to 2000, shall we?

If you've been following my blog posts, you know that I've been gushing over the True Gentleman Suite in the Occasions catalog. I just love everything about it! It's tailored and it's whimsical and I think that's a perfect combination.  Look at this adorable card!

I CASEd this card from one I saw on the display board at Stampin' Up's OnStage event. (CASE=copy and share everything) It was so perfect! And so easy to recreate.

I added a 5-1/4" by 4" piece of True Gentleman Designer Series Paper to a Crumb Cake Card Stock card base. Then I cut a 4-1/2" by 2" strip of another sheet of this DSP and flagged the end with the Banner Triple Punch. I added a looped length of Lemon Lime Twist 3/8" Mini Striped Ribbon to the banner and then wrapped everything with a length of Linen Thread before adhering the banner to the card.

Next, I stamped one of the hexagon sentiments from the "Truly Tailored" stamp set in Night of Navy Ink onto a Very Vanilla scrap and punched it out with the Tailored Tag Punch. I stamped the sentiment again in Crumb Cake Ink onto Very Vanilla and fussy cut the fox. I adhered the fox to the tag with a Glue Dot and then adhered the tag to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals. So stinkin' cute, right?!

Stay Classy!

#stampinup   #faithfulinkspirations   I make a lot of birthday cards. (I may not actually send the cards, but that's a story for another day.) Most of the cards I make aren't exactly suitable for a man. Sometimes I can make do with a not so frilly card, but I rarely set out to make a manly man card.

All that changed with Stampin' Up's True Gentleman Suite in the Occasions catalog! Yes, Stampin' Up has offered--and still offers--some great manly stamp sets, but the True Gentleman Suite really sings to me. And it's so easy to create a quick, manly man card! Take a look at this one!

I started by adhering a 3-3/4" by 5" piece of pinstriped paper from the True Gentleman Designer Series Paper collection to a 3-7/8" by 5-1/4" piece of Night of Navy Card Stock. I adhered this directly to a Very Vanilla Card Stock card base.

Next, I stamped one of the awesome (and manly) hexagon sentiments from the "Truly Tailored" stamp set in Night of Navy onto a Very Vanilla scrap and punched it out with the Tailored Tag Punch. You can purchase the "Truly Tailored" stamp set and Tailored Tag Punch together in a bundle and save 10% off the price of purchasing them separately.

I cut a 3-3/4" by 1-3/4" piece of Vellum Card Stock and adhered it to the card with Snail Adhesive. Then I cut two 4" pieces of Basic Gray 1/4" Shimmer Ribbon and adhered them to the card. This ribbon is awesome--you can earn a 3-pack of this ribbon with a qualifying purchase during Sale-a-Bration! I finished the card by adhering the hexagon with Stampin' Dimensionals.

This is truly a perfect card for a gentleman in your life (see what I did there?)!
