Last-Chance Products: Rose Wonder

#stampinup   #faithfulinkspirations   I really love the "Rose Wonder" stamp set and matching Rose Garden Thinlits Dies. These two products make elegant cards for so many occasions--birthday, wedding, sympathy.  I even like it for cards of encouragement, like today's card. The scripture verse is one of my favorites. I've made loads of cards with this set and this is the last one before it goes into the retired box. 

I actually had a couple of "card parts" on my desk top. I had the two leaves already cut from Night of Navy Card Stock. I love navy and white together (and so does Stampin' Up--wait until you see the cover of the new catalog)!

I stamped the scripture stamp in Night of Navy Ink onto Whisper White Card Stock and cut it out with a square Stitched Shape Framelit. I also cut a scalloped Night of Navy Card Stock square with one of the Layering Squares Framelits.

I adhered a 3-3/4" by 5" Whisper White panel onto a 3-7/8" by 5-1/8" Night of Navy panel and then onto a Thick Whisper White Card Stock card base. I adhered the leaves to the back of the square element with Snail Adhesive and then adhered the square to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals. I added a bit of Fine-Tip Glue to the tips of the leaves to secure them to the card.

This card was so easy and I love the simple elegance. Remember, if you want the "Rose Wonder" stamp set and coordinating Rose Garden Thinlits, you'll have to act fast. Pretty in Pink Floral

#stampinup   #saleabration2018   #faithfulinkspirations   I've got to tell ya:  the Springtime Foils Specialty Designer Series Paper is da bomb! It's gorgeous all by itself, but when you color the images with Stampin' Blends, magic happens! If you want some of this DSP--and you know you do!--you'll have to act fast because you can only earn it with a $50 purchase and only until Sale-a-Bration ends on March 31. Look at this gorgeous card that I made in no time!

I cut a 3-3/4" by 5" piece of the Springtime Foils DSP and colored the flowers with Dark and Light Pink Pirouette Stampin' Blends and the leaves with Dark and Light Old Olive Stampin' Blends. So pretty! I adhered this to a 3-7/8" by 5-1/8" Old Olive Card Stock mat. I wrapped a length of 1/4" Whisper White Organza Ribbon around these pieces before adhering them to a Pink Pirouette Card Stock card base.

Next, I stamped a sentiment and frame from the "Rose Wonder" stamp set in Versamark onto a Whisper White scrap. I sprinkled on some Copper Stampin' Emboss Powder and set it with my Heat Tool. I used one of the the Rose Garden Thinlits to cut out the label. I punched a sprig of leaves from Old Olive Card Stock and another sprig from Vellum Card Stock using the Leaf Punch. I adhered these to the back of the label and then used Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the label to the card. Gorgeous, right?! And so fun to make, too!

Tomorrow, I have two cards to share that feature an element from the Petal Passion DSP that I colored with Stampin' Blends. They're so fun, too! Come on back and see!

Dragonfly Thanks

#stampinup   #faithfulinkspirations   This is the last of the swap cards I made for Stampin' Up's OnStage event in Salt Lake City.  I made this card for a black and white card swap.  Our challenge was to use only black and white. Sounds easy, doesn't it? Well, I always want to add a pop of color, but not this time. What do you think?

I started with a 3-4/4" by 5" piece of Whisper White Card Stock. I used the Detailed Dragon Thinlits to cut out the dragonfly. I set him aside, and then adhered the remaining piece to a 3-7/8" by 5-1/8" piece of Basic Black Card Stock.  I wrapped a length of Basic Black Shimmer ribbon around these pieces before adhering them to a Thick Whisper White Card Stock card base.


Then I took the cut-out dragon fly and adhered him to the card with a few strategically place Glue Dots. I pulled up his wings a little, to show some movement.


To finish the card, I stamped "thank you" from the "Rose Wonder" stamp set in Basic Black Archival Ink onto a Whisper White scrap. I punched this out with the Pretty Label Punch and adhered it to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals.


This card is pretty in black and white and so easy to make. I made a stack of 16 in no time! Can't wait to see what I get in exhange!!

A Happy Accident

#stampinup   #faithfulinkspirations   Way back in the 80's I used to love a show called "The A Team." One of the tag lines for the show was when the team leader would say, "I love it when a plan comes together." Because I do love it when a plan comes together. But sometimes it's more fun when your plan turns out even better than you had planned!

 

Today's card was a relatively straight-forward card, one that was inspired by another I saw on Pinterest. When I was done, I liked it all right. It turned out according to plan. When I took it over to my photography station (read: the dresser covered with bulletin board paper, lit with the $5 Target light, and "photographed" with my iPhone), I took another look. I thought the card needed some sparkle, so I pulled open my embellishment drawer and pulled out a package of Glimmer Enamel Dots and trailing behind was a 1/8 of a piece of a Delicate White Doily--it just floated to the ground. And as it was floating, I got an a-ha moment and knew that doily needed to be part of the card--even if it hadn't been part of the plan. I love it when a happy accident comes together!

So let's talk about how to make this card. I started with a 3-3/4" by 5" piece of Whisper White Card Stock. I stamped the fleur de lis image from the "Timeless Textures" set in Powder Pink three times. Then I stamped the coffee stain image in Berry Burst three times. Finally, I added some Fresh Fig sprinkles around the design.  

I adhered the stamped piece to a 3-7/8" by 5-1/8" Fresh Fig mat and tied on two lengths of Fresh Fig 1/8" Sheer Ribbon. I adhered this to a Berry Burst Card Stock card base.

I stamped the sentiment and frame from "Rose Wonder" in Fresh Fig onto a Whisper White scrap and cut it out with the coordinating Rose Garden Framelit. I adhered this to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals.

And I thought I was done. That was the plan.

But as I mentioned, on second thought, I added three Berry Burst Glitter Enamel dots, in different shades and sizes. And that piece of Whisper White Doily that floated out and called to be used. And it was right!!

It's all about the details! Happy stampin'!
