Flying Through the Night Sky

#stampinup   #saleabration2016   My BFF Lynn and I are hold a Sale-a-Bration stamp camp every year. We love having a bunch of friends come over to share some yummy soup and treats, stamp some great projects, and fellowship together. Today and tomorrow, I'll be showing you the cards that Lynn designed for the stamp camp.

First up, is a great card using the soon-to-be-retiring, get-it-by-February-15 "Sky Is The Limit" Sale-a-Bration stamp set. For this card, Lynn punched a 2" circle from a sticky note and applied it to a Whisper White panel. Then she used a sponge dauber to apply Pacific Point ink all over a Whisper White panel, giving it a bokeh effect. When she removed the sticky note mask, she stamped the airplane from the "Sky Is the Limit" set in Basic Black Archival Ink, so it looks like the plane is flying across the moon in the night sky. Awesome, right?

Lynn always adds extra touches that make a good card GREAT. For this card, she punched 1/2" circle of Vellum Card Stock and attached it to the plane with a Silver Mini Brad, creating a propeller. She adhered this piece to a Basic Black mat.

Next, Lynn cut a 1/2" strip of Vellum Card Stock and snipped off the end. She also cut a 1" strip of Basic Gray Card stock and flagged the end with Paper Snips Scissors. She stamped the sentiment in Basic Black Archival Ink onto the Basic Gray flag. Lynn's extra awesome details for this part of the card included adding a strip of Night of Navy Washi Tape (leftover from the "Watercolor Wishes" all-inclusive kit) and tying on a bow of Basic Black Bakers Twine.

Lynn added the sentiment assembly to a Basic Gray card base, cut lengthwise. I'm loving this card--and I now you do, too, so make sure to order $50 worth of Stampin' Up products by February 15 so you can get the "Sky Is The Limit" stamp set before it retires and is gone forever. Don't haz a sad!!!

Soaring Mojo

#stampinup   #saleabration2016   I had so much fun playing in the Mojo Monday sketch challenge yesterday, that I wanted to play again today! Yesterday, I made a bright and cheery card with bold colors. Today I'm going the opposite way and using neutrals--and the card is still cheery!

I started with three 1" strips of the Going Places 6"x6" Designer Series Paper Stack and flagged the ends with the Banner Triple Punch. I adhered them to a Very Vanilla card base, as in the sketch.

Next, I cut a 3"x4" Very Vanilla panel and stamped the sentiment from the "Sky Is the Limit" set in Basic Black Archival Ink and the larger clouds from the same set in Tip Top Taupe. Some of the clouds are stamped full strength; some are stamped off once.

I stamped the airplane from the same set in Basic Black Archival Ink onto a Very Vanilla scrap and then fussy cut it. I adhered the airplane to the Very Vanilla panel with Stampin' Dimensionals and I adhered the panel to a slight larger Basic Black mat with Snail Adhesive. I adhered this whole assembly to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals.

I really like the way this card turned out and I love the clean, crisp sentiment.

Soaring Birthday

#stampinup   #saleabration2016   The "Sky Is the Limit" stamp set is only available during the first half of Sale-a-Bration and will retire on February 15! It's a fabulous set--perfect for masculine cards--so you'll want to get a $50 Sale-a-Bration order in now and add this set for FREE!

I paired the "Sky Is the Limit" set with my favorite Going Places Designer Series Paper (6"x6" stack) from the Occasions catalog. I love the textures and colors! I started with a Sahara Sand card base and added one of the Going Places DSP sheets as a mat. I cut two 1"x4-1/16" strips of other sheets of this paper and adhered them to the card.

Next, I stamped the airplane and "happy birthday" in Basic Black Archival Ink onto Very Vanilla card stock and cut it out with one of the Deco Labels Collection Framelits. I added two flags cut with the Banner Punch from a "swirly" piece of the DSP. I adhered the label to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals.

Finally, I tied a length of Basic Black Baker's Twine through a Very Vanilla Designer Button and adhered this to the card with two Glue Dots.

Time Flies

#stampinup   #saleabration2016   Time flies and so do airplanes. This wonderful Sale-a-Bration set, "Sky Is the Limit" is only available for a limited time and then it flies away!

Did you know that the items on pages 16 through 9 of the SAB brochure (“Sky Is the Limit” and “Hello” stamp sets and Perfectly Artistic Designer Series Paper) are only available until February 15? What?! So, if you want any of these items as a FREE SAB item (with a $50 order), you'll need to act fast!! Don't fret too much, though. Because there will be NEW items to replace these on February 16.

Let's take a look at this card! I wanted to feature the gorgeous Perfectly Artistic DSP--especially since one of the sheets looks like the sky! So I started with a panel of the Soft Sky DSP and added banners from the swirly side of the Pacific Point, Crumb Cake, and Basic Gray DSP. The banners are 1", 1.5" and 2" wide and they're each flagged with the Triple Banner Punch. After I adhered these to the Soft Sky panel, I wrapped two lengths of Basic Black Baker's Twine around the top and adhered everything to a Basic Gray card base.

Next, I stamped the airplane in Basic Black Archival Ink onto a Whisper White scrap and cut it out with an oval from the Ovals Framelits Collection. I adhered this to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals, tucking the oval under the Baker's Twine.

Finally, I stamped the "happy birthday" sentiment in Basic Black Archival Ink onto the bottom corner of the card--which serendipitously fit perfectly!! It's almost like I planned to do that.

This card would be great for a man's birthday. (Thank you, Capt. Obvious).

This card is my entry into this week's Create with Connie and Mary sketch challenge.
